    water heater repair

Very little hot water was coming from the shower and upon checking the water heater it was shut down. I contacted Reliance and the serviceman, Ryan, showed up only 21/2 hours after my call. He fixed the problem quickly and I appreciated him explaining the process to me throughout the repairwork. He was very professional, courteous and timely in repairing the water heater. Thanks so much. Jane

    Hot Water Heater

NIGHTMARE - I inherited a Reliance hot water tank with this home & recently it started leaking. My kids discovered the water had run through the wall into the laundry room (I was out of town). I called service. The tech came and left saying it was the washing machine (didn't even look). I had the kids turn the temp down on the tank (as it was scalding hot and I suspect dripping through the pressure release valve) and had them put a bucket under. Sure enough that's where it was dripping from. The tech came back, replaced the valve & turned the temp back up. Within a couple of hours the entire thing overheated and spewed scalding water over the basement. (I have video of my teenage kids drying to wade through scalding water to get close enough to shut off the water...) They came and serviced it again but as far as the flooded basement etc. etc. they said "Talk to you insurance company, we are not responsible for the equipment as we are not the manufacturer." (which from a legal standpoint is not true.) So I did what I should have done and PURCHASED a new water heater. It will pay itself off in 5 years. TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY Reliance charged me a $40 'Inspection fee' because my tank was less than 10 years old (by a few months). I called and explained I only wanted my services cancelled without ridiculous fees and I wasn't going to go after them for the damages etc. etc. I have had their protection plans on my furnaces and A/Cs in the two townhouses I own. They would not. They lost my business completely. Stupid, greedy company!! I also told them I would upload the video of my kids trying to turn off the tank and water after two service calls and they said they didn't care. AVOID RELIANCE AT ALL COSTS. People need to know that you can buy a water heater and come out WAY ahead!!!

    Water Heater

Re: 2135,Bingley Cres,Oak. No hot water. Called Reliance.Serviceman came. Still no hot water. Called Reliance(2nd.time). Serviceman came.Still no hot water. He said that the mixing valve is defective. Plumber came, diagnose water heater is the problem.Third Reliance serviceman Bruce M.#3158 came and took out a defective valve in the water heater and fixed the problem. Who pays my plumber? His invoice is not in yet but I suspect that it will be in the $300/400 region. Why should I have to pay a plumber to diagnose the water heater problem!

    Heating and Cooling

After fabricating a review for the salesman to get a free humidifier I am coming clean. My new furnace and ac installed May 2014 first started with a frozen AC 2 weeks after installation and took weeks to resolve. The free humidifier did not work for most the winter. When renewing my mortgage I found out there was a lean against my home for the units which no one told me about. On paying it off in May 2015 they continued to take out additional payments. Buyer beware these people are a Wolf in Sheep's clothing. AND STILL ! I cannot purchase a furnace filter from anywhere

    Customer Service

Try calling this company and getting customer service. Their IVR repeats the same information and you cant get through unless you choose 'Sales or Rental'. The second time (I was disconnected the first time) a rep from Sales transferred me internally and I was on hold for 14 minutes before I was disconnected the second time. Also, while on hold a recording comes on 'if you'd like to leave a message press 1' - I did that but the mailbox is full and I then had to go back into the queue and start all over. I eventually just gave up.
