Water Heater Installation with upgraded ducts

The Reliance team was very helpful and professional from the moment I called the office. Sam arrived on time and installed the appliance and new ducts with minimal disruption to my day. He was patient and kind answering all of my questions and respectful of my home, walls and stairs. I feel confident that I made the right decision to stay with Reliance for my hot water needs. Thank-you for a great experience.

    Furnace

On the morning of Jan 26th/2015 at about 4am, I noticed the house was cold. The furnace was blowing cold air. I turned up the thermostat, but the furnace continued to blow cold air. Turning the furnace off and on at the breaker panel got the furnace blowing warm air again, but this was the second time this problem occurred this winter, so I placed a call to Reliance at 6am for service. To my grateful surprise a person actually answered the phone!!!!!!!!!!! She was helpful and (again to my surprise) offered several time slots for a technician to come THAT DAY! Like most of us I am fed up with being told how much I am valued as a customer, only to be jerked around and abused by big companies. Reliance treated me properly. John Saliba arrived on time as promised. He was polite, courteous and helpful. Although the furnace did not duplicate the failure or error code 6 during his troubleshooting, he nonetheless ordered a pressure switch for the furnace, as this was the second time the furnace had this problem. I appreciated him taking our concern seriously: not all technicians would have done so. He must have ordered the switch promptly because when I got home the next day it was waiting for me at the front door. Although it was then about 8 o clock on the evening of Jan 27th, I called Reliance and once again was offered several time slots for a technician to come and install the switch. In fact they offered to send someone THAT NIGHT! (no games, no hassles, no delays). We made an appointment for the next day as the furnace was working and it was not an emergency. This time Adam Walker arrived. He quickly installed the switch, and was also polite, courteous and helpful. I fully expected Reliance to give us a bill even though we have a parts and service plan with them, (because we all know how big companies really treat their customers), but it did not happen. Reliance stuck to their contract: the parts and labor were covered. I'm not in the habit of writing reviews (good or bad), but when a company treats its' customers properly its a refreshing change; they and their employees deserve recognition. Reliance has shown they can be trusted and are fair as they did not try to charge extra fees or other "hidden" costs. They demonstrated professionalism and real customer service. This is important to me as I also rent a commercial water heater and have another furnace service plan with them. I feel I can sleep a bit more soundly knowing if something goes wrong I can call them. Thanks.

    Relief valve replacement

We had a leak in our relief valve that was attached to the water tank. Called reliance because they previously done service for us. When Greg L #1469 came in to look at the problem, he was very rude, was screaming at us, interrupted us while we would ask questions, he was very unprofessional. He informed us that the mixing valve was the issue and that we had to call a plumber because reliance couldn't fix it. He was in a rush and made us feel like he was doing us a favor. We noticed that the relief valve was also broken and was obviously leaking but he couldn't change the relief valve in the same day because he said he had other customers. Even though his visit was only 10 mins long. He also said that reliance would give us a call back to book another service appointment to fix other issues we had. He told us that the mixing valve would fix everything and that the relief valve would stop leaking on its own if we had the mixing valve fixed. We paid him $100 for him just to tell us (in a really rude manner) that we must call a plumber because reliance don't fix mixing valves. We got a local plumber to fix the mixing valve and the issue of the relief valve was still leaking. A few days passed by and reliance still hasn't given us a call to book a service appointment. I was really hesitant to give them a call. I was surprised that they sent out Bruce M #3158 within an hour. Greg gave us a completely wrong diagnoses. Bruce noticed that there is a leak and was very kind and professional. I was really surprised with how he communicated with us. We paid $566 to change the mixing valve with the local plumber when the relief valve was the major issue that we could have fixed in the first place. Bruce gave us an amazing service and was kind enough to give us his card. I was very uncomfortable calling reliance services after Greg came in but was very please with Bruce's service. If I every need service with my water tank I will request Bruce and if Bruce will not be there I will definitely call another company to avoiding having employees like Greg coming to our home.
