Just need it fixed - is that too much to ask?
Not quite sure where to being but this is my second posting in as many years about Reliance.
Firstly, let me begin by saying my home is approximately 1200 sq ft.
Two years ago, we had a new furnace, whole house humidifier and a/c unit installed - long story short, apart from the long list of implosions during the install - the furnace didn't work correctly for well over 3 months (I was apparently sold the wrong type of furnace for the my home - "too small and wrong type"), the humidifier didn't work (until I fixed the wiring using the instructions that were left behind), and come summer - the a/c didn't work at all - but they were more than happy to keep sending the bill. To get any form of resolution, I had to post on Homestars.
A few months later, we needed a service call to figure out why the humidifier wasn't doing it's job either - after numerous phone calls - finally someone arrived to deem it "too small" for my home.
Everything was such a disaster that they sent two district managers to home (who showed up with Tim Horton's coffee as a good will gesture) - and left me with direct contact information for them.
Fast forward two years - the replacement furnace works, the a/c works - the whole house humidifer - still does not work and we're still trying to figure out when we get a new filter that's supposed to come yearly with our package. Isn't that a health hazard or something?
We have been waiting almost a month to receive the "A technician will call you in approximately 3 hours" phone call. Even after we've called to remind them! I'm starting to think I may be using the wrong calendar or a different clock and figured I post here again as it appears the only way to get Reliance to act on their promises. Oh, and nobody returns my calls from the "direct" line I was given either - but hey, thanks for the coffee and I hope your wife and first newborn (now two year old) are doing fantastic.
Also still trying to figure out why our monthly rental bill is still $176 if a cheaper furnace was installed? We went from having the most expensive furnace installed, to it being replaced with one of the cheapest - yet our bill has been the same.
Apart from filters, we've had to go to the extra expense of purchasing room humidifiers and a portable whole house humidifier because we can't get anywhere with Reliance.
In any case, I would like to ask the Reliance person responsible for monitoring this thread - apart from everything I had mentioned, if you had young children (which you may), or you yourself couldn't breathe at night due to a service you pay for monthly that you're stuck with- where nobody seems to really give a "d" and the bills just keep coming - how would you feel and what wold be your next step?
Yeah - It's probably my next step too!
I didn't say this two years ago - but for anyone thinking of renting anything other than a water heater from reliance (which I also do) - be very weary of the idea. There are many cheaper options, and I'm sure there is better customer service as well.
It's unfortunate really.
