    Water Heater Installation

The service was provided in an organized, professional and punctual manner. Mike is very knowledgable and addressed all concerns prior to starting the job. Definitely worth the cost and would highly recommend!

AC, furnace, attic duct-work, gas line, and water heater

Mike was referred to me by a friend and I'm really glad we gave him the contract. Mike was punctual, very polite, very professional and very knowledgeable. He was very patient with me regarding what I wanted and how I wanted it. He made sure that I was educated about the pros and the cons and got me exactly what I wanted within the price range. He did a fantastic job at my house and made sure I was truly satisfied every step of the job. It was a big job and me and the kids were watching him and his helper do their magic and indeed they did an awesome job. When they left the house was cleaner than before. His helper vacuumed and cleaned every bits and pieces. Mike was a very nice gentleman and we enjoyed having him at our home. Thank you Mike!

    Central Humidifire In a condo

In the midst of our renovations, I was informed by the floor guy, that in order to maintain the wood floor, I should make sure that we have enough humidity in the unit. I called a few dealers, and Mike from GTA Heating was able to start the next day, so we could fix any damage to the walls while the contractor was still working. Mike's price was good, a little less than the others, he was prompt, did a great job on time. I was very pleased. Since then, I used him in my place of business, this time it was the roof top air conditioning unit, and again, on time, efficient and reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend Mike. (since he installed our central humidifier, he installed 2 more units at two of my neighbors and they are happy with services as well)

    installation of new A/C

GTA heating and A/C provided us with the lowest quote for a new A/C unit plus installation. The service person was fast, polite, knowledgeable and provided good customer service. I would recommend this company.

    Duct Re-Routing

I just had a wall removed from our kitchen and dining room and the ducts has to be re-routed. Mike was referred to us by one of our contractor. We did not have enough time to look for other contractors so we just decided to hire his services. I'm highly disgusted with Mike's work ethic. 1. Always comes in late and sometimes doesn't come as promised 2. He's not prepared with his own tools. He used my ladder and even my vacuum to clean his debris! 3. He's not careful when moving our things 4. He left me all the debris for me to dispose without me knowing it! 5. He did not provide any contract as to what his work and price will cover 6. He is annoyed when you ask too many questions and assurance 7. He charged me for a few yards of wire to connect my thermostat for $200+(and was about to charge another $100 for installing) and $38 for vent cover! This all happened when I asked for a discount since he will not be doing another vent as originally discussed. He gave me $100 discount but in return he charged me more stuff. But then he will charge me more if I want another vent to be reconnected. 8. I asked for a copy of the breakdown of his charges but just ignored me. I know I was stupid agreeing on everything and not complaining with his charges ( I did nicely at some point) but I'm a person who doesn't want to hurt/annoy other person feelings so I was just trying to get along. But horrible, unbelievable, the last straw was pulled when I saw the debris in one of my empty box! I'm new in Canada so I was expecting he is supposed to be the expert on those stuff but I felt that he's not knowledgeable on what he's doing. I felt that I was conned and ripped of my hard earned money. I've tried my best to avoid people like him but I still ended up with one. I guess I'll just charge this to experience.

    Answer from pro:

I would like to have my explanation. 1. I gave him my estimate and after 5 days he called to hire me. Therefore, it seems as though he had sufficient time to call others and shop around. 2. As always I included my job details on my quote, and it did not include the vent cover and thermostat since he did not initially request them. Therefore, the cost for those two items were added as per hi request. I even waived my own cost and labour for those added jobs of changing thermostat wire from furnace to thermostat. 3. This was a 2 days job, and we were present at the job site on the agreed time both days. 4. When i was sweeping the floor, as I always do after the job, I was offered to use the central vacuum instead to clean the dust by the wife. 5. We took away all the big garbage bags by my car as we always do. However, I made the mistake of putting some ounces of garbage into the bin. 6. We had all the tools and equipments in the main floor. The only tools we used from the house owner was the ladder in the basement which I had his wife permission and I just used it for one hour and placed back. 7. Also, he owed me $200 and never picked up his phone to make arrangements for due ballance or listen to my explanation and offer for reconciliation after his complain. I value educating the house owners on my job, especially those interested in learning. I answered all his questions and explained what I was doing, perhps except for when I was on top of the ladder and focused on the detailed work. I apologize in any case and thank you for your business. GTA Heating & A/C INC

Installation of a Central A/C Unit

I called Clarkson heating and Home comfort website www.weinstall.ca thinking I was dealing with a local neighbourhood company that was reccomended to me by a work colleague who lives in the area. Little did I know ( having just moved from Montreal) that the office is basically a call centre for the homepros.ca. They sent over a gentlemen by the name of Mike who promptly showed up as promised to evaluate the job. I should have known on the phone to run when he asked me if I was was going to buy right away. He did a real "quick" walk about and started filling out a service contract. He asked for a deposit ( basically the HST equiv) and showed up the next week as promised to install the unit. After I arrived from work that day, the job was done . I turned the unit on at the first sign of nice weather only to realize it wasn't working. I called and e-mailed with no responses from him. It has been well over a month and I paid $3200 for a brand new Carrier unit that does not work. I have 2 reputable HVAC contractors come in and both concluded it was undersized, incorrectly charged and does not cool. At this point I'll have to re-do the whole job and pay again. I'm sure he didn't mean to do a bad job but just by the poor job he did on the sheet metal over the furnace , I can only imagine how bad the other mechanical stuff is. I'll give him 1 star for showing up. Bottom line, the guy took my money and ran!!

    Answer from pro:

On Thursday April 19/2012 we had the appointment to check the functioning of 1.5 Ton Carrier Air Conditioner with 2 Ton Coil on your 1200 Square Feet home. We checked some data together and you did confirm it, however you did not know what those data means, so by E-mailing you have a chance to discuss with other experts. High side pressure at beginning was 660 PSI (As you said two companies try to work on the unit, and I don’t know why they inject extra R-410 in the unit), so we had to reclaim the R-410 and charge the unit with fresh refrigerant. Now High Side Pressure is 265 PSI Sub Cooling Require is 10 F High Side Temperature is 75 F Tolerance accepted is + , - 3 F High Side Temperature is 78 F Low Side pressure is 110 PSI Low Side Temperature is 53.4 F Free Air Temperature is 73 F Air coming through the register 58 F Base on Manufacture Data Chart, unit works perfectly, but as you know you should take care of some others issues in your home, such as: First, duct work, because there is no enough air flow in half side of the house. Second, there is no enough Air Return suction, on second level of the house. Third, you should do some things to eliminate the direct sun lights to the house. Also all windows suppose to be closed when A/C is working. So as our valuable customer we are here to help you to have a comfort air temperature in your home during the summer. Thanks for your business. GTA Heating & A/C INC.
