Ramshaw Excavating landscaped our front and side yards with grey limestone rock. We are very happy with the rock. They also installed 4 sandstone large boulders and 4 shrubs and 3 wheat bushes. We are happy with everything, albeit abit disappointed in the size of the 4 shrubs. Ramshaw also levelled our back patio stones.

I had been looking for a company to build me a retaining wall in a challenging spot above ( and set back) from an existing 100 year old stone retaining wall. I finally came across Ramshaw who had stellar reviews. Cliff returned my phone message quickly, and came out to discuss the project the same week. He gave me a clear idea of what was possible, and recommended putting in weeping tile drainage pipe as well to take the pressure off the existing wall. Something that other companies had not suggested, but when I consulted an engineer contact I had, he confirmed that that was absolutely necessary for this project. I had had a bad experience in the past with a contractor, so I had MANY questions and Cliff was happy to have several more phone conversations with me so that I fully understood the complete details of the project, what was involved, as well as confirming that he had a reliable team, and that he would also be onsite for the duration of the project as well. This really put my mind at ease, and I knew I was hiring the right company for this job. They started exactly when they were booked to come and Cliff was again always happy to answer my questions, and I regularly checked on things to see how it was progressing. There was one glitch early on when they found the original decommissioned gas line pipe was exactly where they wanted to put the posts in, so I had to contact the gas company to come and cut and remove the old line. Which was a two hour delay while they waited for this. Cliff was very easy going about it, and not stressed at all about this glitch, which put my mind at ease. After this brief delay, the project moved forward as planned, and my new retaining wall looks amazing!! I couldnt be happier with this company (including Jody in the office!),- and the on-site team were very pleasant to deal with, and super quiet and calm! Everything cleaned up and left neat and tidy. Its such a pleasure to work with a company with such integrity, professionalism, and honesty!

We were very happy with Ramshaw. They responded quickly to our request for an estimate and provided a timely revised estimate when we inquired about adding to our original project. The crew was courteous. The finished areas look great and feel sturdy!

First, I was impressed that Cliff came to discuss the project at the end of his day during the landscaping season. Other contractors I had contacted didnt do this. Cliff listened to what I needed and provided an option that I accepted. I needed the distressed lawn to be removed and replaced by Rundle stone mulch. Originally, I was told it would be October before my project could be completed owing to their other projects. Happily, I was contacted in July and asked if I would be available for the work to be done that month. The crew did an excellent job of removing the sod without damaging trees and shrubbery on the property. The project was completed in less than two days during very hot temperatures.

Included clearing existing cover and installing fresh sod, mulch under 2 large fir trees and crushed limestone gravel under Birch tree. Also installed a rainwater collection system directing eave water to weeping tile below a new Schrub bed and diverter for excess flow. Work was completed in 3 days. A job well done!

Front yard landscaping to cover up area of excessive weeds and poor grass growth under spruce trees with mulch. Added wood retaining wall at property line due to grade difference. Cliff's suggestions to utilize boulders was a great idea. The yard looks great.

They were wonderful! We wanted a Core pad put down at our office entrance. They made certain they collaborated to give us what we wanted. Happy to turn up on a non-office day for us. They proceeded to get to work quickly, efficiently and as cleanly as possible. It was important to make this as environmentally compatible as possible which was understood. We try to have porous walkways. It turned out very nicely.
