Window Replacement

In October of 2009 All Weather Windows installed 5 new large windows in my house. Within 3-4 months I noticed that there was excessive ice build up(3 inches) on the inside of all windows. I did not have a humidifier in the house and the previous 30 year old windows did not have any condensation or ice build up issues. I contacted All Weather Windows and informed them of the issues and of my concerns. Over a year passed and no one from their company contacted me or ever came over to address my concerns or issues. I finally had to take All Weather Windows to small claims court citing "improper installation or defects in the product they supplied". In the mediated agreement I had to pay an independant inspector $200.00 to inspect the windows with their "Head Customer Service Representative" overseeing the inspection. This was the only time in 16 months that onyone from All Weather Windows even stepped foot in my house. The inspectors report clearly stated that the windows were installed without being levelled, shimmed or sealed properly. He specifically said that all windows needed to be "removed and installed properly so as to not ultimately fail over time and to perform properly". Even with this report clearly stating that All Weather Window had done almost nothing correctly when installing the windows, the company's position was that they supplied and installed the windows properly. I am currently moving forward with my claim in civil court as All Weather Windows has renegged on the mediated agreement. They have refused to abide by the agreement and correct the issues they created and resolve the problem. They are a company that does not stand behind their product or installation and are woefully inept with producing and installing said products. Their quarantees mean nothing and the only thing they are concerned about is getting your money and then leaving you high and dry. I would highly suggest you use any other company to provide and install your new windows and stay far far away from this company.

Assisted Review

An assisted review is collected by a contractor on behalf of the homeowner after their work is completed. The homeowner must confirm the text of the review and may make any changes she or he deems appropriate. The homeowner then assigns the contractor a review score out of 10. Assisted reviews receive the same scrutiny as other reviews and must follow our review guidelines.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all! From 2 very contented
people who wish to send you an excellent report. We thank all your service crew for an unforgettable experience and a job well done, installing our new windows in August 2010. We are really noticing the huge difference in window insulation and blocking out street noise. It's so quiet now.
We noticed how well these men worked in harmony and unity. With speed,
accuracy and as a tight team. They worked very hard together. Contractor, Clive Spenser, communicated well with us and his team. He was consistent, knowledgeable, efficient and able to keep his team focused. His crew : TERRY, expresses a keen spirit and certainly has a masters touch working with wood. IAN, is steadfast, focused, and has excellent workmanship. RYAN, is enthusiastic, with a special gift of concern and compassion
for the common good of other people. They were the best team I have ever seen. They were energetic, and the best with time-management as well as QUIET,CLEAN,QUICK. All communication was work related. Manager : Joe Hohmann followed through on time. He dropped by to see Clive and check up on the work installations. At the same time my husband Ed stopped by home to check up and he met Joe. Although the sliding door was on the wrong side - it was resolved. CHRIS came in Sept., then he returned Oct 13, to complete the replacing of the patio door strip. He was efficient and took his work seriously. It all began with Brenda Comeau who met us and was extremely professional in her presentation and following through with helping us with the whole process. She's a caring and kind lady, quick to respond immediately to all my calls. No matter how busy she was handling
other clients at the same time! She wholeheartedly invested herself
and extra time in us. She made us feel special. It was a great
experience for us. Thanks to each one for a job so well done. Enjoy
your family-time together to celebrate this joyful holiday season.

God Bless You All and keep your families healthy and safe!

New windows

I recently had windows installed in my home thrtough what I thought was a reputable company, only to have a horrible messy job done substandardly. When I arrived home from work to see the new windows they had installed, the installation was done totally wrong with the window mounted completely on the inward side of the wall. This left a 2" gap from the window to the flashing which would just invite water to enter my walls on the outside of the home. On the inside of the home, there was expandable foam wiped all on the window casings as well as caulking and dirty finger marks. As well, the window coverings no longer worked as the window cranks interfered with them.

My walls are quite thick as the home has been energy efficient renovated over the years. The manufacture sticker even stated to mount the windows on the most outward side of the wall.

The window company refused to come back and remount the windows correctly, intead, showed up without my permission and "patched up" the window flashing on the outside.

As a single dad, I was very tied up with work and could not take the time off to supervise, a move I have since hugely regretted. The window company then sent my file to collections, while none of the problems with my windows were fixed. As I did not know how how to fight this, I simply paid the bill to protect my credit rating.

The next time I get a renovation done, I will be here to supervise, I will do more research into companies. I HATE coming home and looking at the windows in my house. Perhaps some day, I will hire a company to re-install them properly.

Next time before I invest, I will investigate.
I'm now in the works of trying to get my kitchen re-done....any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm off to the home show now. Best wishes on your renovation

Dear Car Guy, I am very sorry to hear about your experience and as our installers are certified professionals I am confused by your claim that we installed your windows incorrectly. As you have not left a name I am unable to contact you or address any of these issues but please contact me at 780-468-2989 as I would love to speak to you and have any issues resolved.

The Sales rep was very fast in making the sale and delivery, however the windows frost up and then ice melts down my walls. Reported the problem, they changed the window and still no difference. Advised this is common in our cold weather. I think it is because it was installed when it was too cold out and snowing therefore moisture got inside.

The windows themselves are very nice to look at and makes the house look newer. My concern is over time it is going to create mold and we are going to be no farther ahead after paying so much. We also paid around 8000 the year before on the main floor same company and only one window freezes on that floor.

Today it is warmer outside and there is no frost on the window therefore no picture attached.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Check with the customer to see if the problem has been fixed and look into solutions to improve quality of the product. If the problem can't be solved then they customer should be offered a rebate.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Ask to see before and after photos and don't install your windows when it is snowing or bad weather.

MomaJan, It sounds like a potential humidity issue in the home. No matter how good a window is, with high humidity in the home and cold temperatures outside, you can experience condensation issues. Improving air flow in the home, turning down your humidifier, raising blinds during the day, making sure your dryer is vented properly, keeping exhaust fans on during showers are all tips that can improve teh hunidity level in yoru home. If teh problem persists please contact our service department and they will book a humidity test in your home and try to assist.

Generally satisfied but did experience some delays and a few problems with the product recently. Heavy rains have resulted on one of the windows leaking. I would recommend supervising the project during installation and inspecting the product to ensure every thing is properly finished.

I am pleased to ear that you are generally satisfied, however the water leakeage is a warranty issue and we will remedy this ASAP. It may be an installation issue or a simple case of a blocked drain hole.

Please contact us if you have not already.

Window Replacement

We replaced about half of our windows last year, and we did a fair amount of research with local companies. We also had a recommendation from a neighbor for All Weather Windows and renovations. The salesman, Ryan S. was very professional and knowledgeable and he helped us select the right kind of windows for our needs. We enjoyed being able to visit their showroom and see the product. The installers arrived to complete the work on time, and the installer and his crew were very courteous and I could tell that they were very focused on doing the job right. When we had a very small concern later with the patio door not closing quite right, the company sent people out to assess and rectify the problem without any hassle at all. This year we are completing the replacement of our remaining windows and we are using All Weather Windows Renovations again.

Window replacement. Entire house

We did our diligence in selecting a window manufacturer. We went with a big local company with an excellent BBB rating and a great product. Cost was not our first concern, but they ended up being nearly the lowest bid. Our salesman was great, always available with any questions we had. Even got us qualified for 1 year no finance option even tho we had our contract before the promotion. THe installers were excellent and tidy. They made their job look easy and were happy to show and describe all aspects of the installation process.

Our problems began when 9 of our windows were manufactured with the incorrect grill inserts. We had to have a service visit to replace them. This was 6 weeks later. Within that time we noticed a lot of glue on the inside and outside of our windows and asked our customer service rep to add that to our service call list. When the service techs arrived I first brought to their attention the glue on the inside and outside of the windows, he took a razor from his pocket and scraped some of it off and said I should do the same to all windows, that they would not be able to remove it. When I explained to him that I just bought brand new windows and didnt feel I should have to scrape glue off all of them, he suggested making a service call in the summer to have it looked at. Now they were off to re install the 9 windows, and all seemed to be going ok. But on their departure, the tech informed me that they had broken one of the windows during the attempted install and someone would be calling me to reschedule another appointment in mid January or February to install this locatrion(another 6 weeks). As I felt there was nothing to be done I accepted this and they were on their way. 2 days later I noticed that the window beside the one they couldnt replace was completely broken on the inside pane. I immediately called All weather windows and spoke with someone about my concerns. They advised me that it was unlikely that the other panes would crack as well. I told her it was unacceptable as this was in my 2 year old daughters room and was unsafe. She said that there was nothing they could do before mid January, and the call ended by me requesting to speak to a manager. 3 days later with no call back, I phoned back in. I spoke with someone new and raised the same concerns. This time the person I spoke to actually made an effort, she was able to give me an appointment date in 2 weeks to have both windows replaced.
I would have to say that I would not recommend AWW to anyone after having to deal with their customer service dept. The sales and installation was great, but the service is just as important, and I felt that AWW could use a lot of work in this dept.

Dylan, I would like to thank you for taking the time to write this review. We strive for customer satisfaction at All Weather Windows and are very good at what we provide to our customers. That being said, unfortunately, there can be issues in a manufacturing and installation environment and are always looking for continuous improvement. I would like to apologize for the experience that you had with our after installation service, it is truly not typical of how we operate. The “glue” that you have described was most likely excess silicone and although easily removed, it should have been cleaned by our installers before leaving your home. If this is still required please contact me and we will take care of this for you when the temperature is suitable. Overall, Service leads times can vary and there are many tasks that are weather related or rescheduled due to poor weather, that can present unique challenges for us. I am glad to hear that you were very satisfied with your experience from a sales, value and installation perspective and it that once the service was complete, our product. Your input will be utilized in future training initiatives to correct some of the challenges we faced during your experience. Thank you once again.

Window Replacement

My installation with All Weather Windows was great! I loved my installers. I didn't find my salesman professional at all and really struggle with saying nice things. He forgot the appointment for the quote, he measured my windows wrong, forgot to send me my quote and window description and then lost my pay stub. The install was find though and overall I am happy with my windows.

Whole house window reno

We just recently purchsed the HyDistinction windows for our 1940's home renovation. We previously had single pane wood windows which were horribly drafty. In comparison, the new windows are incredible. Absolutly no regrets. Beautiful colours, and very well made. We love them!

Window Replacement

We were looking to replace some old windows in our house which is approximately 45 years old. We had already replaced two large windows which have wood frame exteriors. In order to match the new windows with the two we had already replaced we had several companies come and give us estimates to install new windows and clad the two others so that they would all match when we were done. We made it VERY CLEAR to all the companies that we needed all the windows to match or we would have to take our buisiness elsewhere. The salesperson from All Weather Windows told us that the installer (who was subcontracted by All Weather Windows to do the istallation) could do the cladding on the side and we were assured from both the salesperson and the installer himself that the job could be done at the same time as the installation. Like a fool, I didn't get that promise in writing. What happened when the installer showed up with my new windows? You guessed it, he says and I quote " I'm sorry, I can't clad your old windows because my machine won't bend the metal small enough for all the bends in your windows, I guess I should have looked closer." So now I'm stuck with windows that don't match. The moral of this story is as old as renovations themselves, get EVERTHING in writing, down to the smallest detail. If they won't put it in writing there is a reason. Go do buisiness with someone else.

One other thing about the contract that you will sign with All Weather Windows. They will ask for your credit card number so that if you don't pay your bill they will just charge it to your credit card. Witholding part of the payment until you are satisfied is the only recourse you have if you are not sastisfied with All Weather Windows products or installation. If you are ultimately not happy with your All Weather Windows experience it doesn't matter, THEY STILL HAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! As the manager at All Weather Windows told me, " there is really nothing I can do for you, and you will be part of the 2%-5% of people who aren't happy with us."

Approximate cost of services:
$5,000.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
If they can't do the job then they should just come right out and say so. That way I could find someone who could actually do what they say, and it would save me the time of having to write bad reviews for them.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Get EVERYTHING in writing, down to the smallest detail. If they won't put it down on paper or if they tell you that you don't need to write it down then be very suspect of their motives.

Jeff I am sorry that you were frustrated by cladding limitations. I am sure you can understand that some profiles are just to intricate and small to wrap wih metal. We shoudl have recognized this immediately and advised you. This was certainly not an attempt to mislead you but a training issue. If we charged you for any cladding work that was not performed I am sure we have refunded this to you. If there are any other concerns please contact me directly and we will be utilizing your review in future training sessions as we constantly strive for ongoing improvement.
