WELCOME to the ALL-PRO LANDSCAPING & CARPENTRY LTD. profile page on HomeStars! Thank you for taking the time to visit! We also invite you to visit our PHOTOS galleries where you can "stroll through" more than 300 images organized into 24 ALL-PRO LANDSCAPING PROJECT TOURS. In the meantime, here's a little bit about our history and the kind of work we do . . . ........... ........... CORE SERVICE AREA . . . With our office in Highland Creek near the Scarborough-Pickering border, and our 3-acre staging yard situated in north Ajax, we concentrate on projects located in: > PICKERING-AJAX-WHITBY, and > WEST ROUGE, PORT UNION, HIGHLAND CREEK, ROUGE HILL, GUILDWOOD, THE BLUFFS and (east/southeast neighbourhoods of Scarborough), > SOUTH-EAST MARKHAM. Please click on the thumbnail image of ALL-PRO Landscaping's CORE SERVICE AREA MAP in the PHOTOS section of this page. ........... ........... OVER THE PAST 40 YEARS . . . Over the past 40 years, ALL-PRO Landscaping & Carpentry Ltd. has been designing and constructing beautiful, functional custom landscapes for more than a thousand clients who have entrusted Angelo Tersigni and his landscape construction team with their outdoor living spaces and home curb appeal. ........... ........... ABOUT US . . . FOUNDED IN 1985 BY NICOLA TERSIGNI AND 21-YEAR-OLD SON ANGELO, ALL-PRO Landscaping & Carpentry Ltd. specializes in working with clients to enhance the beauty and functionality of the landscape elements that complement and add to the enjoyment of their homes. >> As sole owner and operator for the past 38 years, Angelo continues to honour the family values of integrity, diligence and quality that are at the very heart of ALL-PRO Landscaping & Carpentry Ltd.; the company he founded with his father 40 years ago. Those values have stood the test of time and continue to translate into satisfied clients. And we are honoured that ALL-PRO is now being called upon by the next generation of our client families to help them with their projects. Angelo personally oversees each project from start to finish. The majority of the projects we complete each year originate from: 1) previous clients who come back to us with ideas for new projects, and 2) homeowners referred directly to us by our clients (this doesn’t include HomeStars leads). On average, ALL-PRO Landscaping has the capacity to commit to approximately 15 to 30 CLIENT PROJECTS EACH YEAR (depending on the scope of the projects). ........... ........... A FEW NOTES ABOUT QUOTATIONS . . . Angelo personally handles quoting and sales. Hours of work are invested in a typical quotation. Rather than providing homeowners with a bulk dollar amount for the entire project, Angelo goes the extra mile by presenting a detailed, typed "contract specification sheet" that breaks the entire project into individual components that specify the materials/dimensions and pricing per component. The quote also specifies applicable warranty, HST and payment terms. Ultimately, for homeowners who choose to entrust their project to ALL-PRO Landscaping & Carpentry, this quotation document evolves into the signed client contract, usually after a number of refinements to align more closely with the client's aesthetic and budget. > At times during the season, Angelo may temporarily suspend quoting so that he can focus exclusively on current projects and on quotations already in hand. In this scenario, our office manager invites homeowners to circle back to us at a later date if they are unable to find another contractor with whom they wish to proceed. She also compiles a waiting list of those homeowners who wish to meet with Angelo when he begins quoting again. ........... ........... IS ALL-PRO LANDSCAPING A GOOD FIT FOR YOUR PROJECT? During the peak spring/summer period, we receive approximately 20 to 30 quotation requests PER WEEK, sometimes more. Many of these we need to decline for a variety of reasons. For example, the project site is outside our core service area, or our schedule is already booked during the homeowners’ desired completion timeframe, or the project is not the kind of work we do. When non-client homeowners reach out to ALL-PRO Landscaping to request a quotation, we are very grateful. We also respect their time and want to ensure that we are a good fit for their projects. So our office manager will ask a few questions before including their information on Angelo’s quotation request call-back spreadsheet . . . . Q1. WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED? Each year, we must decline many quotation requests from homeowners located outside our service area. Please refer to the “CORE SERVICE AREA” note, above. . Q2. DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT COMPLETION DEADLINE THAT YOU NEED TO MEET? Some homeowners are working towards a particular project completion deadline such as the date of a backyard wedding or the arrival of visitors from overseas. > This is important for us to know up front, because the homeowner's desired time frame may no longer be available on our schedule. . Q3. HOW MANY QUOTATIONS ARE YOU OBTAINING? Conventional wisdom usually concurs that obtaining two or three quotations is prudent for homeowners who do not yet have an established relationship with a trusted contractor. We respectfully decline to meet with homeowners who are obtaining more than three quotations. . Q4. WHAT KIND OF WORK WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE DONE? We focus on "HARDSCAPE" construction projects, such as: => patios, walkways, steps, porches, garden walls, retaining walls, driveway borders/driveways constructed with precast concrete products and natural stone products. => decks constructed with pressure-treated, cedar and composite decking products. For hardscape projects, we can also incorporate the following: => sod, mulch, triplemix, riverstone, ornamental rockery. => synthetic grass (usually Rymar Durablade 95 S-Shaped Synthetic Grass). => fence and gate structures, constructed with with cedar, pressure-treated or composite materials, as well as custom-ordered ornamental iron fencing from Medallion Fence. We do NOT install the following: => Asphalt. We refer our clients to two trusted companies. => Stamped/patterned concrete. => Extensive plantings. While we can certainly do some planting of trees and shrubs as part of our hardscape projects, we refer our clients to trusted horticultural technician-designers for extensive garden design. . Q5. WHAT IS THE SCOPE OF YOUR PROJECT? The HomeStars company PROFILE format includes a field for “PROJECT MINIMUM”. > For prospective clients, we have set $5,000 as the minimum. > For our previous clients, of course we are glad to come back to help with any landscape construction job, no matter how small. > We appreciate that some homeowners may be unable to gauge whether or not their project would be above the $5,000 minimum threshold. Our office manager might be able to help with this when you describe the kind of work you would like to have done. ........... ........... MEETING WITH ANGELO . . . Angelo's QUOTATION REQUEST CALL-BACK LIST is updated by the office manager. On that spreadsheet, each request she enters is tracked by initial date of inquiry. > CALL-BACK TIMEFRAME: During the construction season, Angelo strives to touch base with homeowners within two weeks of the date of their initial inquiry logged on the Quotation Request List (unless he had already placed a temporary hold on quoting before the inquiry was received). > MEETING TIMEFRAME: During the construction season, Angelo does his best to integrate quotation meetings into his existing project work schedule. Client work always takes priority for him — something which prospective clients are sure to appreciate. During the offseason from approx. December through March, Angelo does quite a bit of quoting for the upcoming season, weather permitting. During the peak season, Angelo combines jobsite work with sales, scheduling, purchasing, transportation, HR, client relations and other aspects of the business. He is at the jobsites daily. Multiple projects are usually under way. Clients deal with Angelo directly on anything pertaining to their projects. He manages the project schedule, calculates and places the orders for project materials and determines crew member assignments each day in consultation with his onsite Team leader, Dan. His Class AR driver's licence also enables him to minimize production disruptions by serving as the supply lifeline for the jobsites: delivering materials from manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers (paving stones, flagstone, wall systems, steps, boulders, rockery, gravel, screenings, lumber, fencing, topsoil, triplemix, sod, etc.), transporting equipment and materials between jobsites and ALL-PRO’s staging yard in north Ajax, and hauling project debris to transfer stations, for example. He integrates quotations into this schedule. ............ ............ LANDSCAPE ONTARIO HORTICULTURAL TRADES ASSOCIATION (LO) / CANADIAN NURSERY LANDSCAPE ASSOCIATION (CNLA) . . . ALL-PRO Landscaping & Carpentry Ltd. is a proud member of Landscape Ontario and the CNLA. We can be found on the Landscape Ontario web site by typing "Landscape Ontario ALL-PRO Landscaping" into your search browser. What makes hiring a masonry contractor in Toronto unique?

Toronto’s population density, varied architecture, soil conditions, and weather create specific challenges for masonry work.

These are some of the factors that set masonry work in Toronto apart:

  • Older brick and stone structures: Many Toronto homes and commercial buildings have century-old masonry that requires specialized restoration techniques.
  • Foundation moisture issues: Toronto’s clay-heavy soil and freeze-thaw cycles can lead to cracks and water infiltration, making foundation repair and waterproofing common needs.
  • Heritage preservation: In historic districts like Cabbagetown or The Annex, masonry work often must match original materials and meet city heritage guidelines.
  • Urban load considerations: Dense neighbourhoods and narrow laneways in Toronto can limit access for heavy masonry equipment and material delivery.
  • Seasonal scheduling: Winter masonry work can be limited, and materials must be protected from freezing temperatures to ensure proper curing and prevent damage to brick, stone, and mortar.

What to ask a Toronto masonry contractor before hiring?

It helps to ask Toronto masonry contractors a few questions before hiring to understand their skill set and make sure your project is done safely and compliantly.

Are you insured and covered for WSIB in Toronto?

Ensuring a masonry contractor is insured and has WSIB coverage protects homeowners from being held financially responsible if an accident occurs on site and indicates that the contractor complies with Ontario workplace safety regulations.

How much experience do you have with the masonry work I’m requesting?

The wide range of projects that masonry contractors can do means that not all of them will have the same skill set. Make sure that the contractor you’re considering has experience with your specific project type.

Can you provide references for similar work in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area?

Many Toronto masonry contractors share references or photos of recent projects in Toronto or nearby neighbourhoods. Seeing past work can demonstrate their skills and familiarity with local building conditions.

What preparations are needed, if any, before work starts?

Preparation may include clearing the work area, protecting landscaping, or ensuring access for equipment. Your masonry contractor can provide Toronto-specific guidance to minimize delays and avoid damage.

If required, do you handle permits or any building permissions?

Some masonry work, especially structural changes or heritage restorations, may require permits from the City of Toronto. Many local contractors can assist with the application process or advise you on what’s needed.

Do you offer a warranty or guarantee?

Most Toronto masonry contractors provide a warranty or guarantee for workmanship and materials. Confirming this helps protect your investment and ensures issues can be addressed after completion.

FAQ: Common questions about masonry in Toronto

How long do masonry projects in Toronto typically take?

Small repairs, like fixing cracks or repointing sections of a wall, can take a few days, while larger projects like full basement waterproofing or heritage façade restoration may take several weeks. Toronto masonry pros familiar with local conditions can provide accurate estimates, and you can easily find them on HomeStars.

Are there noise restrictions for masonry work in Toronto?

Yes, Toronto has bylaws that limit construction noise, typically between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays and more restricted hours on weekends and holidays. Even so, masonry work can be coordinated around these rules, and local contractors know how to comply while keeping projects on schedule.

Are there Toronto regulations for chimney repairs?

Yes, chimneys in Toronto must comply with local building codes and fire safety regulations. Licensed masonry contractors should be familiar with city requirements and ensure that repairs meet these standards.

HomeStars makes it easy to find the right mason in Toronto for what you need done. Simply post your project, specify what you need, and you’ll be matched with local masons in your area.

Do Toronto laneways affect masonry projects?

Yes, narrow laneways common in Toronto can limit access for heavy equipment and material delivery. Local masonry pros can plan for these constraints to keep projects on schedule.

Can masons in Toronto work in all weather conditions?

Some masonry tasks can be done year-round using special additives or heated enclosures, but extreme cold or wet conditions may delay work. Heritage buildings often require careful planning before any replacement, as original materials must be preserved, which can affect scheduling.

Can masonry contractors in Toronto handle custom projects or match existing masonry?

Yes, Toronto masonry contractors can match brick, stone, and mortar to existing structures, which is especially important in heritage neighbourhoods like The Annex or Cabbagetown. You can quickly connect with pros who handle these specialized projects on HomeStars. Make sure to specify with your preferred pro if your project involves heritage housing.
