The exterior wood siding of our 60+ year-old home recently needed maintenance in preparation for painting. When prepping the surface, we discovered that part of the exterior wood siding was rotting and needed replacement. Curt came highly recommended to us and we hired him to do the repair work. It was well done--efficient, timely (one day) and cost-effective. Curt helped save us time and money. We would not hesitate to recommend him at all.

We recently had to replace our basement bathroom toilet and hired Westrim to do the job. Owing to a complication with the subfloor, they were able to rectify the situation to fit the toilet in. The job was done efficiently and in a timely manner, within a reasonable cost. They even removed the old toilet for us. we would not hesitate to contact them again.

Our in-sink Moen water purifier's filter needed to be replaced. However, we were having a challenging time locating this obscure replacement part due to a renumbering of the part (apparently moen phased out the model we purchased years ago and ended up using a standard filter for a few existing models). the service department at Andrew Sheret on edmonds street was able to help us locate the correct replacement for us after a search at the big box stores proved unsuccessful. Excellent service!

Our Kenmore washing machine suddenly stopped working a few days ago. Long story short....the door switch had worn out. It was a common problem according to amin, the repair technician. As we all know, a broken washer is an inconvenience. Thus after an internet search and reading the reviews, we settled on Newtech appliance repairs. Amin was able to fit us into his busy schedule. Prompt, efficient, courteous and professional. Definitely recommended.

Bricks and Mortar Living has recently relocated to its new 6th Street location in downtown New Westminster (corner of Canarvon and 6th Streets) and now offers twice the retail space, showcasing its fine selections of antique and vintage home accessories and gifts items, ranging from unique one-of-a-kind gift cards to lines and farmhouse chic pantry cabinets. There is something for everyone...even vintage ties for that favorite guy in your life. I've been a fan of theirs since I discovered them in their old Begbie Street location. So when I was looking for something unique for a gift, I decided to check out their out their new venture, where I left with a vintage tie and one of their mason jar lamps. Reasonably priced, too, I might add. I will be spending some of my Christmas love there! So, go check it out!!!

Milani Plumbing was our go-to supplier and installer for our kitchen renovation project. We had previously utlilised them on another project a few years ago and were very pleased. We have also recommended them to friends and family in the past. So, when it came to have this project completed, we decided to use them again based on their competitive pricing and willingness to work with our contractor and scheduling. When it came time to renovate our kitchen, part of the project involved replacing our kitchen window wall/sliding doors. One of the suppliers we ended up procuring from was Vinyltek, which offered knowledgeable, professional and prompt service. They advised us on the best options based on our tight budget. They were able to work with our contractor as well based on the delivery timeline, too. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

They gave me a quote and told me what it would cost to fix it. This informed decision led to holding off and putting the money towards a newer model instead. Ovearall, quite satisfied.

Urban Barn is one of the most unique retailers when it comes to home decor. They have an assortment that is aimed at condo dwellers, when it comes to their furniture lines. Even if yours is a mansion, they have just the right specialty items. Their seasonal sales are a good bargain, too.

We recently needed to replace our old refrigerator, a Kenmore top-freezer style fridge, which no longer functioned very efficiently. Sour milk can be a great motivator for deciding that a ten year old plus fridge needs to be replaced with something with greater storage capacity as well as blends in with the rest of the kitchen appliance style--stainless steel. We decided to head down to Coast Wholesale. After looking at a few models, which our salesperson knowledgeably answered our questions about, we settled on a Kitchen Aid side-by-side model. Since we didn't need an ice-maker, all the better as it gave us a little more freezer storage capacity. The stainless steel look blends in well, though maintenance is a little more and does require a special polish to keep it looking shiny. Overall, i wouldn't hesitate to recommend Coast Wholesale Appliance for their pricing and selection.

Conquering home office clutter was the order fo the day and when time came for me to finally tackle this , i headed down to Ikea to see which systems were available. I needed something for the usual stationery as well as other assorted knick knacks. I ended up settling on their new plastic Kupol modular drawer units which come in a variety of sizes and fit well. Overall, they fit the purpose but i think they could have refined their design a little better, much like Japan's Muji Corp. and priced it a bit better, too. Nonetheless, i wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. One other place to consider for a similar product: the Container Store (online or in-store in the States; not available in Canada, yet).

I had always heard about Inspiration Furniture and seen their many ads but never had the chance to go down to their West Side location, near Granville Island. So, i decided to venture down to check out their selections and was pleasantly surprised. They had great deals as well. I ended up picking up a wonderful lacquered box as well as a few cow hide picture frames, which were highly unusual. Their staff were gracious and helpful, as well as knowledgeable about the product lines. I will be going back again.

They helped us make wise decisions which saved time and money as opposed to constant change of decisions--due in part to the well-thought out planning. From the first call to final clean-up, they were professional and went beyond the call of duty. We plan of having them work on our next project should we ever need to.

After a home burglary, , we reallised we needed a home alarm system. One solution is to have a monitored alarm system. So, when it cam time to invest in a system and monitoring, we researched what was available and the types of systems. With a good recommendation by word-of-mouth, and after researching, we settled on Alarm Force. We chose the system due to its relative ease and simplicity of operation.; In addition, their efficient monitoring helped to put us at ease.With their two-way voice communication, one has to speak via a built-in speaker system with the monitoring center, when the alarm is triggered. Overall, we are pleased with the helpfulness of the staff from sales through to installation and post-install service. They are also one of the most affordable and cost-effective options.

Two summers ago, we needed our roof, which was about 15 years old, replaced. A roof leak, which was inevitable, necessitated a complete replacement of the roof rather than a patch and repair approach. After searching, researching for and obtaining three or four quotes, we chose Navco Construction to replace our roof. If it had not been for the weather, our roofing job would have been started and finished much faster. Given the type of job it was, we had to wait for the weather to cooperate. Long story short, Navco was extremely efficient and experienced in the project--from the first phone call, to time and again fielding our queries, to the final clean-up. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them at all. The job was in summer of 2011.
