Assisted Review

An assisted review is collected by a contractor on behalf of the homeowner after their work is completed. The homeowner must confirm the text of the review and may make any changes she or he deems appropriate. The homeowner then assigns the contractor a review score out of 10. Assisted reviews receive the same scrutiny as other reviews and must follow our review guidelines.

Ben/Dan, Undergoing a major renovation in your home is never an easy thing - and finding the right contractor can be difficult. We met with 6 different companies before Elia came through the door. When he came over to have a look at the job and give us a quote, he immediately instilled in me a sense of comfort, something that I had yet to get from any of the other people we had met with. From the planning stages, through every step of the project, right down to the finishes, he was always available to answer questions and kept us informed with frequent progress updates and upcoming scheduled work. If I had a question or concern throughout the project, I rarely if ever waited more than 5 minutes before I had a response from him. He and his entire crew were always very professional and treated our home and family with respect. With a basement project that finished on time and on budget, we couldn't be happier. It's only been a little over a week since it's been finished but we are already enjoying it with our family. We are getting many compliments on it and have been asked about our contractors - who we have and will recommend happily. Many thanks to the entire team for a job well done - and especially to Elia, someone we are very happy to have worked with over the past 6 weeks. He truly is a consummate professional and an asset to your company. Sincerely, Steve & Jess

I called Well Done BBQ's to have my Weber Genesis Silver B cleaned which was in pretty rough shape. Jack and a coworker showed up on time and brought my BBQ out to the front of the house and then unloaded their tools to get started. It started to rain and they even ahad a pop up gazebo to cover them up. After close to 3 hours of disassebling, power grinding, scrubbing, and re-assembling, my Weber was pretty much back to new, and they cleaned up after themselves quite well. They also went over its condition with me and advised what need to be repaired/replaced in the next few years. The pictures above are not of my BBQ but could easily be as they got it that clean. Thanks Jack for restoring my Weber back to almost new!

We moved into a 25 year old home last year, with original windows at the back. While the windows were in OK shape, the caulking was dried and cracked and needed to be redone, and the paint had worn off in many places. We called Prestige and Sergio came out to give us a quote. He was very professional and knew his stuff, and went over the steps that would be taken to replace the caulking. He also called in his painter, Jose, who took the time to go over what needed to be done as well as provide advice on other items around the house that needed to be done. After a week of stripping, insulating, caulking, sanding and painting, the windows look fantastic and I know they'll last us until we are ready to replace them. Thanks Sergio and Jose for the fine work you did (including the window and eavestrough cleaning) and you can be certain I will recommend you highly to family and friends. - Steve

We had just purchased a resale home and had some water leaking from the drainpipe in the basement where the 2" kitchen drain connects to the 4" which goes under the floor. After 2 estimates it was clear that the joint on the 4" was cracked and would need to be replaced, which meant digging up the floor to replace part of the 4" line. Frank came out and went over the problem and solution, and also recommended a change to the layout of the drain which would help access to the cleanout when we decide to finish the basement. Walter (and his co-worker, whose name I did not catch) came out the next day and jackhammered out the floor, replaced the drain and backfilled and poured the new concrete - and did an outstanding job. He also laid out runners so there would be no mess in the house. A few days later Jeremy came out for our drain inspection (the one with the camera) and was very thorough and explained everything as he inspected the pipes. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the entire experience, from the estimate, to the work and finally the inspection. Having an excavation in your new home can be an unsettling experience but Frank, Walter and Jeremy were a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend Drainworks to anyone looking for a professional plumbing company. Oh, and their estimate (and final invoice) was 3 times cheaper than the first company's estimate, who is also rated highly on homestars. It pays to shop around! Lastly, hats off to Eddie and his company for the donations they make to Sick Kids. Keep up the good work!

We recently bought a resale home and needed the locks re-keyed in the home. Based on the reviews on Homestars, I called Tom this morning to explain to him my situation and he was at my place in an hour. He took the time to go over the entire house and point out any areas of concern. We decided to change all the hardware and add deadbolts on all doors instead of just re-keying the existing locks, and while he had hardware available for the job, he advised that I was more than welcome to pick up my own supplies at the local hardware store. I couldn't be happier with the level of service I received and with the work that was performed. Thanks again Tom and I will certainly recommend you to all of my friends.
