My 5 year-old portable AC unit crapped out on me, in late July. I work from home, and found the stifling heat unbearable. I'd wanted Central Air for quite awhile. So, I phoned ClimaxAir to book an appointment, last Friday. Sam came by, on Sunday afternoon. And I was elated when he told me that the AC install could actually be done on the Holiday (Simcoe Day) Monday?! The crew was helpful, polite, and very efficient.. I'm extremely satisfied with the job done. And even happier to have a nice cool temperatures, that allow me to work comfortably in my home office again!

I had some loose masonry on the side of my house, underneath my Kitchen window. I had been experiencing a cold draft under my sink. Dan and his crew pulled the old cement layer away to reveal a hollow in the brickwork, that was probably left that way when some venting pipes were put in, by the previous owner? The hole was filled in. And a new layer of parging was done over top of it. The look is now smooth and professional. And I feel like my Kitchen, is a little less drafty. Would recommend them to others, if asked..

Assisted Review

An assisted review is collected by a contractor on behalf of the homeowner after their work is completed. The homeowner must confirm the text of the review and may make any changes she or he deems appropriate. The homeowner then assigns the contractor a review score out of 10. Assisted reviews receive the same scrutiny as other reviews and must follow our review guidelines.

When initially looking for an electrical contractor in the Oshawa area, I visited the Homestars website on the Internet. I read good accounts from people that had hired Captain Electric. And felt like they'd be a good fit for my job, too. In order to qualify for my Home Insurance, I needed to have all of the old knob-and-tube wiring in my 30's-era house removed. Enrico came by and did a quick estimate of the costs, including options for additional outlets and lights throughout the house.. He and his crew performed quick and admirable work. They were always on time, and acted completely professional at all times. I would easily recommend them to anyone looking for quality electrical contracting work!

Thanks Rich, we appreciate your comments. Insurance Companies are well aware of the potential problems with Knob and Tube Wiring. Being an older system, there are a number of issues . . . The system is ungrounded, insulation is often cracked, deteriorated or falling off, and the wiring has been modified (new wiring spliced into the old K&T wiring is an especially serious situation). Also - K&T wiring was designed to dissipate heat through "free air" and is not rated to be in contact with thermal insulation (many older homes with K&T wiring have had insulation blown in and is contacting the K&T). There are many reasons why replacing K&T wiring is the ONLY safe solution. You can now be assured that your home is safe with a modern wiring system. We look forward to being of service again sometime. Thank you for choosing Captain Electric ........... bw
