I have called Captain Electric twice now into my home and I have to make a point of this; Dave (electrician) is a real pro and an absolute pleasure to deal with. There are many other electricans on staff who have been complimented by other clientele (online reviews) but I'm obviously starting this review in a biased state. Oh well, here goes! Being a Durham, Ontario resident there are many electrical companies I could have called, but a simple Google search made my decision that much easier. (And Brian who answered my phone call at Captain Electric!) When I called to have RG6 cable run through my basement to an LCD television, options seemed bleak due to the duct work and structure of my finished basement. But Dave persisted and was able to manage a run from the T.V. to the incoming coaxial cable line without breaking a sweat. A more important point I'd like to make is that before Dave started his work on the first occasion to my home, he took the time to explain thoroughly, the expectations his company has of him (code of conduct), the services they offer, a printed copy of his license to operate within the province of Ontario among other various documentation attesting and relating to the nature of Captain Electrics modus operandi. The professionalism, coupled with the sincere and focused approach to customer service and high quality of work mimics that of a great piece of artwork that stands the test of time. I encourage you the reader, to compare/contrast the differences between electrical firms in the G.T.A., but will offer this much; Captain Electric is a wonderful business to deal with in my personal opinion and will continue to speak volumes of their company to friends and family in need of their services. Thank you "Super" Dave and Captain Electric!

Company Response

Thank you "SunWorshipper" for such a nice review. (my sincere apology for not responding much sooner - I am new with this technology and forum, and will be responding much sooner to all client reviews on Homestars, now that I know how this all works). "Super Dave" (he gets that a lot) is definitely a "keeper" (and so are our other electricians and apprentices and office staff too!). We truly do appreciate your kind comments and comparison to a great piece of artwork. Thank you for choosing Captain Electric, and we do look forward to being of service again in the future.

After extensive research into lawn care providers online, Lawnsavers appears to be a cut above the rest. As the winter thaw has passed and the summer rolls in, I have had one fertilization treatment applied to my lawn and am starting to notice a lusher/greener lawn. Although the 1st treatment involved little other than two passes of a spreader with fertilizer in either direction of my front/back lawn, I'm happy with both the customer service over the phone and the helpful/courteous nature of the staff who provide exceptional services. For those who wish not to play lawn doctor this summer, I recommend Lawnsavers and implore you to call upon their services. The rates are reasonable and you have a selection of two lawn care packages to choose from. The Fiesta weed control is an all natural weed killer that is used by Lawnsavers and that may give you peace of mind if you have small children that like to roll and frolic among the turf. Thank you Lawnsavers and keep up the good work.

What could this company do to improve their services?
It would be nice to see Lawnsavers call it's clientele ahead of time, either by automated voice message or a live person, indicating when the next scheduled appointment will be. They have a tendency to show up unannounced, not a good thing if you lock your back gate or have an inaccessible yard due to other circumstances.

Will and Chris were both professional and efficient while restoring/reglazing a bathtub I had chipped by my own hand. Looking at an option to replace the bathtub altogether, the cost of hiring a plumber and installing a new piece would have run at least 1k if not more. When I found The Tub Guys during a Google search and compared the various methods employed by other tradesmen, the acrylic and epoxy alternatives are highly toxic and may require the occupants of a home to be displaced while the fumes settle over time. Also note that both epoxy and acrylic chemicals do not last as long as the advanced polymer that Will and Chris use. With proper cleaning and kid gloves, the polymer may last anywhere from 10-15 years onward. This is important to know in making your decision to call The Tub Guys if your in a tough spot and need a reasonable price for a job well done. Chris had mentioned to me before he left my home that The Tub Guys had arranged an appointment with another client in September (2011). My service call was in early March and it's quite evident that many people are starting to realize that Will and Chris are the right tradesmen for the job. Because the damage to my tub was minimal and my reglazing was done for mere cosmetic purposes (I could have taken whiteout to it), after seeing the results post-op though I was taken with the fact I could I could see my relflection in the glossy finish and am glad I dropped my two-piece toilet in the bathtub just so I could give these fellas' some business and give my wife a piece of mind without having to look at unsightly chips. To recap... Stay away from do-it-yourself kits. Stay away from tradesmen who still use acrylics and epoxies. Do call The Tub Guys for professional results that will end up saving you money. Good luck to all the homeowners reading this review with similar woes! You won't regret calling The Tub Guys. Thank you Angela, Will and Chris. I'm more than happy to write this postive review of your firm. I'm thrilled with the quality of your craft. Ryan

Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Do your research. Whether it's making a phone call or searching a search engine, make sure that you know the pros and cons of each method employed by a firm. For me, the value of money spent, service delivered and results acquired from the transaction are crucial elements that I believe I have an impact on decision-making. Hence, I encourage you to read as many reviews from homeowners, commercial properties or otherwise to assess the quality you should expect if you call upon any tradesmen. I encourage you to call The Tub Guys, simply because they offer a superior product and service I couldn't manage to find in the G.T.A. Believe me, it wasn't for a lack of trying either. Best of luck on your project and I hope I've helped make the decision easier for you.
