I needed a new roof so I started researching what brand of singles I wanted, and which roofer was certified to install those shingles. I selected Mr Roof Repair because they are Certainteed Select Shinglemasters and Certainteed was the brand of shingles I chose. I got 2 other quotes, also from Select Shinglemasters, but I felt that Mr Roof Repair was quoting me for a well done roof, rather than just giving me the bare minimum to meet requirements. Certainteed offers a 50 year warranty on their shingles, not prorated like other manufacturers, but if you hire a Select Shinglemaster, you also get a 25 year warranty on workmanship. There were a lot of questions I had about the process and the ventilation, and Patrick spent a lot of time answering my questions, as did the owner, Joe. When the owner spends a lot of time on the phone discussing issues of concern with a customer, and going the “extra mile” to make sure that the customer is happy, that speaks volumes about the company and their commitment to make their customers happy! I am very happy with my roof, and feel that I was given the information to make an informed decision, thanks to Joe and Patrick. The installers did a great job, they were very nice, answered any questions I asked, and did a great job cleaning up. Thanks again Mr Roof Repair. Rhonda

I called Chris to fix up the grouti in my bathroom shower and another bathroom tub, and also to make the bathroom floors in both those bathrooms look like new. Chris came on time and finished the job on time. He did a great job, and I would definitely recommend him!

I thought my hot water tank was leaking, so I called the company I bought it from. They sent a technician who said it was the furnace, so I called Husky, where I bought the furnace in Feb 2017. They sent Dave L to my house, and he fixed it quickly, answered all my questions, and helped me with a few other questions I had about a few other problems I was having. He was the nicest and best technician I have ever had in my house! Sine Husky hires such good technicians, I will definitely be calling them when I purchase my new air conditioner! By the way, this service call was in July, but Homestars doesn't allow a second review within six months, so I had to wait until now to write this review. I recommend Husky very highly!

I called them to come to my house because it looked like my hot water tank was leaking. I told them there was a puddle around my tank. I called on a Saturday evening around 8:00 pm. They told me someone would call me back. Nobody called. I called again at 11:00 pm and they told me that someone would call back. I stayed up to 1:30 am on Sunday, and nobody called back. I got a call Sunday morning at 9:30 am, and a technician came at around 10:45 am. He was at my house for about 20 minutes. He said that it wasn't the hot water tank, it was the furnace. He wrote that on the work order he gave me, and left. I called another technician for my furnace, which was under warranty. The technician came and said that it was NOT the furnace, it was the air conditioning. He said that if the water tank was leaking, there would be a flood in my basement, and that the McKinnon technician should have know that. They charged me $203.40 to come for nothing, as they should have know it was not the hot water tank leaking ( I bought the hot water tank from McKinnon), so they came so that they could charge me for doing nothing and diagnosed the problem INCORRECTLY. Also, by telling me it was the furnace, which it WASN'T, there was an additional technician charge. STAY AWAY FROM MCKINNON!!!!!

First I want to say STAY AWAY FROM MCKINNON OR YOU WILL BE SORRY! I called them on July 8th at 8:00 pm because I saw a puddle of water around my tank. Since I bought the tank there, and they installed it, they seemed like the right people to call. I explained that there was a puddle around my hot water tank, and the person I spoke to said that a technician would call me back. NOBODY called me. I called back at 11:00 to see what was happening, and it seems like my call wasn't sent out to any technician! The person I spoke to this time told me he was putting a RUSH on it, and a technician would call me. I stayed up until 1:00 am, waiting for a call, and NOBODY called me. I went to bed and was woken up at 9:30 am by a technician who said he could be at my house within 30-45 minutes. He arrived at 10:50 am, went to my tank, and said that it wasn't my tank that was leaking. He opened the furnace cover and said that it was my furnace, and PUT THAT IN WRITING on his work order. He was there 20 minutes, and charged me $203.40 and did nothing. I then called the place where I bought my furnace, so Another service call. It turned out the IT WASN'T EVEN THE FURNACE, IT WAS THE AIR CONDITIONER, SO THE PERSON WHO CAME FROM MCKINNON DIDN'T EVEN DIAGNOSE IT PROPERLY! MY FURNACE WAS UNDER WARRANTY, SO I WAS EXPECTING IT TO BE FIXED UNDER MY WARRANTY, BUT IT WASN'T THE FURNACE, SO THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD TO CHARGE FOR THE CALL. The technician also told me that McKinnon' s technician should have known that it COULDN'T be the hot water tank, because because if it really was the hot water tank, there would have been a lot of water on the floor. SO, they came to my house knowing that it wasn't the hot water tank. THEY JUST WANTED TO CHARGE FOR THE CALL AND MAKE MONEY WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING! I called McKinnon on Monday, July 10/17 and spoke to Michael, the owner. He didn't care, because all they want to do is get their money. His attitude was THANKS FOR CALLING. NOW I SEE THAT THEY DIDN'T CARE BECAUSE THEIR RATING ON HOMESTARS IS 62%. AGAIN, STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Thank You Rhonda for your review. We installed your water heater on June 12, 2015 and the water heater installation is warrantied for 8 years on the parts and tank and one year on labour. The service call you requested on the weekend was for the water heater as you felt that it was leaking. Our service technician contacted you on Sunday morning and as promised, he arrived 45 minutes later. He identified that the water leak was not from the water heater but from the furnace as the evaporator coil from your air conditioning system was leaking into it. He offered to identify and rectify the issue but you insisted he not touch it as you stated the furnace was recently installed by another company and the installation was still under warranty.

Regardless of your negative review, your water heater installation still has warranty on the parts and tank until June 12, 2023 and we would be happy to honor these warranties should the need arise. As the one year labour warranty on the water heater lapsed on June 12, 2016, the service call labour would still be chargeable at our regular service call rates.

Rhonda, you failed in your review to mention that when I contacted you to discuss the service call, you ended the phone call by stating that you would be stopping payment on the cheque you paid us with. I am sure that you simply forget this small piece of information when you were writing the review but thought it was important to note.

My furnace broke down a few weeks ago. I called Husky ,among other dealers, in order yo purchase a new one. Their prices were competitive, and they were willing to install the next day. The salesman, Dimitri, answered all my questions and was very friendly. The installers came on time, answered all my questions, and did a great job. It is now 2 weeks later, and i am very happy with my furnace. Thanks Husky for a job well done!

Charlie came over to give me a quote, and fixed the rod in my closet, before he even knew if I was hiring him! He was very professional and did everything I asked, and more! His price was very reasonable, and he cleaned up afer himself. In addition, he is a really nice person. I would recommend him highly, and will definitely have him back to my house for other projects.
