    toilet replacement

Jason just came for a leak and turned out we had an enormous crack in our toilet. He quickly replaced the toilet and he did a fantastic job. He was efficient, honest and professional. We'll definitely be recommending DanMac to our friends and neighbours.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for your positive feedback. I will pass this on to our technician.

    Broken Faucet

A faucet of mine broke and started gushing uncontrollably, and I made the mistake of calling a plumber instead of figuring out how to fix it myself. The repair turned out to be extremely simple, and although the fellow they sent was friendly and fixed the problem properly, it seemed rather too convenient for me that he had to "go buy a part" that it seems he should have already had in his truck, and take exactly the right amount of time to do so that he could bill me for a round number of hours. And (criticism of plumbers from time immemorial, I know) the bill was way too high. Of course, I know that most plumbers do this, so my advice isn't so much to avoid Danmac as it is, if you are an able-bodied person, to first search the Internet for a how-to repair video, if your problem isn't an extreme emergency. Chances are, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to do yourself.

    Answer from pro:

If you have the ability and equipment to do a repair on your own it may be worthwhile for you to tackle it. Many manufacturers will send home owners new parts under warranty but they will not pay for the labor. I have found some of these parts are tricky to change even when you know what you're doing so "be careful". Thank you for sharing your views with us.

Backflow valve, rough-in for basement sink and toilet

We'd gone though a few plumbers with mixed results and are so happy we have found DanMac. We have had them in for a few projects now and each time they provided great service. They helped us find economical solutions, helped manage the permit for our backflow valve (which most other plumbers we contacted would not) and were honest when some work we thought we wanted done (or had been told by other plumbers we needed done) really didn't need to be done. Because of their honesty and great quality of service we plan to use them again as we continue to renovate our home.

    Answer from pro:

Our policy is to never sell anything to anyone that they don't need. We follow the "Golden Rule", treat others the way you would like to be treated. Thank you for your feedback.

    snake a basement drain

This is the 3rd time I've used these guys, the fastest response for any type of plumbing job. They've scheduled me the same day to finish a job or next day, never longer than than. Great service, on time, and I can count on them to give me a price and stick to it and not re-quote once the get on site. Nora at the head office dispatch is a very pleasant lady and she's great at scheduling someone during an emergency like the one we just had, pleasure to work with DanMac!

    Answer from pro:

Our company is built on service. Thank you very much for the generous praise.

    Shower Rough-In Service

Hired DanMac to do a shower rough-in. Paid them straight-time at $85/hr. I thought the rate was competitive. I scheduled the plumber 2 days in advance, and he showed up on time. I thought the plumber worked at a reasonable pace, and finished the work in around the time I thought it should take. I hired them based on recommendations from a friend - they had performed a fixed-price job for his reno work. They quoted the work free of charge while he was planning it, and stuck to their price.

    Answer from pro:

Invoicing on a time and materials basis is very often a cost affective way of having small jobs done. Thank you for the input.

    Drain snaking and camera

Had DanMac come in to fix a drain clog, service was great, prompt reply and visit. Unfortunately we have been recommended to replace the entire drain from the footing to property line which comes with a decent chunk of cash, but ultimately it was important to identify the issue and move forward with fixing it. DanMac will return to quote on the new work.

    Answer from pro:

The cost of getting an accurate job description and assessment of the problem prior to getting a quote is critical. This allows you to get an accurate quote with no chance of getting hit with "extras" once the job has started. Thank you for your feedback.

    Moved Washer/Dryer/Laundry Tubs

I contacted Dan Mac with interest in having my Washer Dryer and Laundry Tubs moved to the other side of my unfinished basement. I knew I had to get this work done before finishing our basement. It started with a visit from Stan, who was very clear in what the job in tailed. I knew it wasn’t going to be a easy task. He took his time, explained what was going to take place, and I knew they had to break ground to get to the other side of the basement. Few days later I received a written quote from him, and we agreed to a start date. His licensed plumbers arrived on time, scoped the work, and did a remarkable job. I was very pleased. They finished on time (2 days as promised), they were very clean, and all garbage was picked up. Not a speck was left behind of any plumbing equipment or garbage. Now that this difficult move took place, and my Washer/Dryer and Tubs have a new corner to settle in at, which makes us all very happy. Now I can rest easy, and start to plan and have the pleasure in finishing my basement. Thanking Stan and all of his workers in making this happen so fast. We knew we had to get this done before any any other work started. We are very pleased, thanks so much.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you so much for the glowing review. We truly go everything we can to ensure a top quality product.
