    AC Install

    I have used Shipton's for several projects in my home; water heater, furnace humidifier and my recent AC unit. Overall I think this company does a very good job, especially with responding to any issues after products have been installed, which is important to me. In my experience to date, I think they could use a little more due diligence when installing equipment, but the follow up to any concerns is excellent and quick. They are also very good at providing information regarding equipment before making a choice. I will use Shipton's for my furnace install when the time comes and for any other products they provide. I recommend this company for HVAC and water heater installs.

    Ridiculous

    I paid 110 dollar for a 'diagnostic' even though I told the man what was dripping. Nothing was fixed and I was charged 110 dollars for something they already knew of. Outrageous

    Furnace Service... I think

    We had our furnace stop working seemingly at random in the middle of January. Not fun! We called Shiptons as they were highly rated on Google and the first company to come up in Hamilton when you search furnace. Technician (#1) came out, ran a "diagnostic" and said the thermostat was the problem, quoting us $400 to fix it. It was a peaksaver thermostat, so we called them directly asking them to replace it rather than purchasing one through Shiptons. Peaksaver came and replaced the thermostat for free. The problem continued - furnace would randomly shut off. I called back not happy and asked for a more senior technician who could help figure out what the problem is. Technician (#2) came out, thought it might be the door switch and wired around it. Said they would order the door switch and come replace if it wiring around it proved stable (which it did). Technician (#2) came back out to install the door switch, only to find out that the door switch was never ordered, and he didn't have what was required to do the fix. Wasted service call. Door switch is ordered in. Next service call is two new technicians. Technician #3 looks at the furnace and begins to tell me all the things wrong with it. Selanoid valve not working for humidifier. Improperly sloped piping. Leaking gas valve. (NONE of this was mentioned during the initial diagnostic done by tech #1) I had noticed the air had been dry so I decided to replace the selanoid valve. They looked at each other and decided $100 was a good price for it. (no reference to anything) Technician #4 installs the door switch (roughly $12 part) that was previously diagnosed as an issue, and then proceeds to charge me $195 for "overall inspection" (which one would think was part of the original diagnostic fee I've already paid) and replacement of the door switch. Technicians #3 and #4 even acknowledge they are one of the priciest in the area as I let them know I didn't feel that was a very reasonable price for the service that was rendered. I asked Technician #3 how I could add more warmth to my basement because we noted it was cold and we spend a lot of time down there, perhaps through another vent to the room. He told me what was currently there was sufficient for the space. I just told him there was a problem with not having enough heat, how can the response be that what is there is sufficient? Technician #2 seemed to diagnose my problem. So the 2 stars are for him. Four technicians, four visits, and I'm still not sure where I'm really at with the furnace. Not recommended.

    Gas hot water heater-50 US gal,power vent

    Heater started leaking from drain valve. Got a few quotes... Dave came in on short notice Friday afternoon. He was very friendly and informative. Price was competitive... arranged for install for Monday afternoon... Marty and Nigel were also friendly and did a very professional (and clean) install... would definitely recommend

    Furnace Installation and Duct Cleaning in Stoney Creek

    David the sales rep, Luce (Looch?) and Kevin the installers, and Matt the duct cleaner were all professional and courteous. The service was as fast and as scheduled. There were a few ductwork hitches with the furnace install but they handled it. The finished installation is meets my expectations. The duct cleaning seemed very thorough. This wasn't the cheapest option, but I'm satisfied, and pleased to deal with a local company with a long history of service in Hamilton.

    Furnace, AC and fireplace inspection

    A technician was able to come to my home the next day. I was given a time range from between 1-4:00, and that is when Jamie, the technician, arrived. He could not have been nicer or more pleasant. He explained everything he was doing in simple terms and worked efficiently. He explained the pricing system and was able to give me a clearly written explanation of the work and his findings. I would use this company again and refer them to others.

    Hot water heater tank replacement

    Our old hot water heater stopped working and we couldn't get a part for it, so we decided to replace the whole unit, since it was old and we also wanted to get out from under the thumb of Reliance Home Comfort! Katy was so understanding and helpful to provide a quote and then quickly proceed with scheduling an appt once we decided to give them our business. Marty and Nigel showed up earlier than expected (even phoning ahead to make sure it was OK to come earlier) and completed the removal of the old tank and installing new tank within two hours! They put down drop cloths to keep my carpets clean. They were very professional and pleasant to deal with, answering my questions about the new water tank. The best part: they are dropping off the old water tank at Reliance's office on my behalf!! An added service that really made choosing them such a no-brainer. I'm thinking that when we need to replace our furnace, we will be calling Shipton's for that too!

    Furnace & Central A/C Maintenance

    We had our furnace and A/C serviced yesterday, and based on Jamie F.'s visit, I'm glad we called Shipton's. Jamie was extremely thorough, knowledgeable and polite. He was careful, and patient (didn't mind explaining everything), and he arrived on time. I've already recommended him to a friend.

    Furnace & AC Install

    Nigel, Marty, Luciano and Kevin were all professional. They took time to answer my questions and were knowledgeable about the install. They left the site spotless. Katie provided my with all the information to make an informed choice of both company and product. My suggestion to make the customer experience better is proactive contact by the production scheduler to confirm date and advise of arrival time. Perhaps a flyer could be provided upon contract signing that deals with FAQs. I called mid day the the day before to confirm and ask when the installers would arrive. Overall a very positive experience. I wouldn't hesitate to refer Shipton's to family and friends.
