    Satisfied

    In the last 25 years, we have built with over eight different home builders in Calgary. I was always told in the past that Excel was a lower-end product. However, I'm presently surprised. The product selection is excellent. The sales team is helpful with all my questions along the way. The changes we requested at later dates were reasonably priced. You must seriously consider the sales team's recommendations as they understand the product and resale value. Also, you must utilize the Virtuo services. They help with the moving process. Not all services are free, but the services are greatly appreciated if you are new to the city or just too busy to coordinate things.

    Good customer service and house designing but quality compromised

    Great costumer service from sales team and warranty team but house quality is compromised specially, insulation of house is really bad. Overall, good experience if they can improve some of things in future.

    paid for 1 thing get something else

    I purchased a home with excel and took possession of the property in 2022, after promises of getting issues repaired which i have been working on for a long time i decided to start a full inspection of what i bought vs what i got, after checking what i was promised and paid for it turned out what i received was very different, even to the point that the documents for my home submitted to the town are false and incorrect, for example my Hvac system that was submitted to the town and what i have in the home are different, the brochure i was given for the home which states full HVAC system with smart stat- not there i had to install separately, now to my latest finding of an expensive kitchen upgrade for larger pots and pan drawers and taller wall cabinets what i have received is different and now I'm being told its industry standard well that's crap, not to mention the 2 years to have things rectified and still waiting for things to be done, to contractors trashing my home when they come to do repair work, avoid this place at all costs as all they want is you money, i have evidence of everything i have listed here but nope they still have a reason to not honor it.

    Hello George, It is understood that you were expecting an air conditioning unit to be installed for your home due to the misunderstanding of the acronym HVAC used in our brochures. An Air Conditioner was not provided, as it was not included in the contract documents. The cabinet drawers are as per our supplier’s standard. The upper cabinet heights are as per the Purchase Agreement and cabinet layouts. Excel has made efforts to address concerns as they were brought up. One example is that your home was re-mudded, taped and painted over the holiday season in 2022, prior to you moving in. Our team actioned warrantable items that were required based on an Alberta New Home Warranty Program report. These included the vapor barrier repair in your basement and both bedrooms above the garage, repairing the subfloor in both the upper hallway and loft bedroom, replacing the missing drip lips on 2 windows and rectifying the issue with the tile at the tub deck in your ensuite. Additional items in the report required no action, as they are not considered warrantable defects. Additionally, Excel completed many non-warrantable items in your home to help address your concerns, as we felt it was the right thing to do. For example, Excel Homes arranged for our trade partner to adjust the cabinets near the fridge to allow for the fridge that was supplied by you to fit into the opening. We are aware of one remaining item to be completed that we understand our trade partner has a time scheduled with you to address the issue with a drawer face.

    Build the house

    I had shopped around before going with excel homes at Carrington location. They had the floor plans with my requirements. Tyler and Jen are the most knowledgeable and helpful sales professionals. They guided and helped me to customize upgrades within the budget. Always there to answer my questions and providing clarity. Amazing people! Justin, the construction supervisor was also amazing and after the pre board walk when I got to meet him, I knew my home was in good hands. He took care of the little things that mattered to me. I am happy and pleased with excel and enjoying my house! Their concierge services are absolutely lifesaver, thanks to Julio at Virtuo for helping me with for all the services. I would recommend excel homes to anyone!

    Overall good job done except the bathroom

    I feel like better fittings could been used in the bathrooms without going out of budget. Like shower heads with hand-held would be more practical especially when cleaning. Mirrors could have been better installed. The size of the bathroom is primary bed could be bigger especially seeing as the sink counter top takes up so much unnecessary space. In total, the experience was decent

    New Home

    Excel homes have always stood by my side. From the 1st day i moved in till now. Over a year. They are always ready to help specially Sean Ollenberger. This guy is the master of doing things right for the clients.

    Great job by Excel Homes!

    I feel like giving every member of the team a tight hug for a job well done. I am super proud of Excel Homes for a great job done. They delivered at exact time and date given.     New Home at Silver Spruce

    Overall, we had a great experience building with Excel Homes at Silver Spruce SW, Calgary. The sales representative (Kent) was very knowledgeable, professional, accommodating and courteous throughout the building process. We liked the fact that we had the opportunity to select all our upgrades before we firmed the deal which in turn help us to locked in our budget and save us the stress of countless appointments. Overall, we loved our home despite some few imperfections in the garage concrete and driveway. The design meets our current needs and the space was well utilized. The post possession team have been great so far and the only service we wish could be added is touch painting at the 3 months post possession appointment. If we have to do this all over again, Excel Homes will still be our first choice and we won't trade Kent - Sales Representative for anyone else.

    Price variance

    I was a little disappointed with the price variations for the exact same house in two different communities
