Wish the construction team or tradesmen would be as good as the design team. I would not recommend them as builder

Open roof, swimming pool by the house and most importantly the I don't give a damn attitude.

Our hardwood , the spacing 1/4 .the stairs of our deck left un finished. It sitting on yard of soil any big rain can wash out that soil .We complain since walk thru but nothing done . Always promises and different excuses .

I am very happy with the overall quality of my home. A few finishes like the kitchen faucet and dishwasher and sub par. I’ve already replaced the faucet. Besides that I am pleased with the workmanship and materials used. The sales team in Walden was amazing! Faryn especially was so knowledgeable. She deserves a raise or a promotion because she is such an asset. Likewise, Josip, the finishing supervisor went above and beyond and was very good at his job. Downsides have been the long delays with getting the house built. There were lots of delays during the beginning of construction and to even get construction started on the property. The initial construction supervisor, Justin, dropped the ball many times and I was very unhappy with his service. There were also supply issues for the closets and mirrors. I was very pleased with the efforts put in to get our closets installed before possesion, it it took a lot of following up and efforts on my part to get them to agree to pulling some strings for that. Been here for a month now and still don’t have our mirrors installed or shower door. Haven’t had a single update on it either. Overall, I would recommend excel. I feel like I got a very good value for the product I ended up with. I would build with them again. I wish they would not have two different building supervisors but that they would let Josip do the whole thing and hire him an assistant. He’s a very hard working man.

Purchasing an excel home it was agreed that work and features that where not up to standard would be fixed or replaced. After over 1 year nothing has been done. Now I will have to put in several thousand dollars for painting, changing fixtures and cabinets. Even the kitchen fixtures like the fridge and dishwasher have to be replaced. I strongly suggest using another builder that will stand behind their words as excel homes definitely does not.

I think the value for money for the basic home is decent, but the process of building the house was painful!!! The construction process was 4 months longer then the commitment, with NO communication about the delays! I did not even know what color was approved for my home until the siding was put up! I am still (at the end of summer after living here for 3 months already) waiting for a driveway...I only have a hole in front of my house. I would not recommend Excel and will probably not use them again

Quality control of sub contractors is poor and to get problem solved it takes time and energy. I would say do not but from Excel Try to protect you self and do not give them full amount until they are done

Porch was not fully completed as the wood was not stained or painted and front of the house looked half finished. Quality of materials used was basic or poor. Items mentioned in walkthrough could have been fixed immediately and not postponed

We are satisfied from the start and up to now The whole team of Excel Homes Calgary are knowledgeable .Their support ,services are excellent .Workmanship meet our expectations .We highly recommend Excel Homes .

From the start things seemed off. Should have stuck to my guns and walked away. Since taking possession have started to notice the issues of poor workmanship eg translucent paint! You can see straight through to the drywall! Poor finishing of drywall and poor painting of all my over priced "upgrade" trims. Paint on floors and cabinets not to mention the damaged cabinets. Exterior issues the shingles are damaged there is paint on the siding etc etc. Currently working with the warranty team seems promising but until all issues are resolved I wouldn't rate any higher. Update. Still way to many issue's for a new house! They always blame sub contractors. Had an independent home inspection done and guess what? DID NOT PASS with flying colours!!!! Poor materials, poor workmanship, poor communication. Next step ANHWP!!!! After that lawyer... AVOID EXCEL HOMES!!! Sent a 2 and a half page email to customer care still waiting!!!!
