DO NOT BUILD WITH THIS BUILDER

DO NOT BUILD with this builder in COBBLESTONE CREEK . Starting with the sales Center, at first everything seems wonderful. After deposits are wrapped up, things started to be missed, duel zone thermostats being our biggest one. Opps is all we got. Reading the contracts after you make changes is time consuming, yet its a must because they say one thing and then do another. This is explicitly a lack of knowledge from the sales staff, and customer service is nonexistent when you have paid. We didnt have glass in my master bathroom shower on move in. When it was installed, they drilled the hoses in the wrong place and smashed out tile to fix. The inconvenience this causes alone after move in is crazy. We have had a pot filler installed that stoped working on the coldest days in March and then started working again after it warmed up. I believe the only thing that would cause this is freezing. After hounding they have documented this. But again, will they fix when it freezes and floods a brand new home? If you are wanting to do any sort of landscaping be prepared to be given the run around over and over again. Once this builder has your money for the sale of the home they drag there feet to the point summers almost over and your unable to do anything despite taking possession in early January and have a solid 5 months of good weather to be able to preform these items. I believe this is next to criminal, as you have paid in full for something that needlessly takes months to rectify. Your lot will be left a mess, with garbage, construction debris and beer cans for you to find come spring. The site superintendent does the best he can with what he has to work with. I cannot stress this enough for anyone looking to buy in cobblestone creek with excell homes. Do not waste your time, the emotional exhaustion will do nothing but ruin your experience trying to get them to Finnish a home that you will cost you a small fortune. Its sad that builders this day and age, cannot seem to deliver a good, timely project and complete what they say they will complete in a timely manner.

    Answer from pro:

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, we are sorry that this has been your experience. Excel Homes is not able to offer a dual-zone furnace due to the complexity of obtaining permits through the City of Airdrie. We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding and the inconvenience that this may have caused. Unfortunately, Excel Homes was faced with navigating supply and trade shortages, and at the time of your possession, we were dealing with the shortage of shower doors. We hope that you can understand that the shortage was out of our control, and our staff made sure to go above and beyond to rectify the issue as soon as possible. It is our process to document all deficiencies in a home, and upon inspection, if an item is warrantable, we will fix it. Due to the number of homes that need seasonal items to be completed when favourable weather permits, we are transparent with our homeowners and state in every Sales Contract that Excel Homes has up to 12 months to complete seasonal items. We schedule these seasonal items to begin after the May long weekend every year (weather dependent), and excessive months of rain such as June can cause further delays. Our team works diligently to complete all deficient seasonal items on each Excel Home during their 12-month contractual status, as we take pride in our Customer Service. If you would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service team. Thank you.

Not good people to deal with

Dealing with their builders were absolutely painful. Theyre disrespectful and the only thing they care about is their tongue.

    Disappointing experience with Excel Homes

My experience with Excel Homes during the home-buying process has been a mixed bag, marred by issues regarding snow-clearing commitments and a lack of responsiveness from the sales representative. Initially, I was pleased with the pre-sale discussions, which were informative and helpful. However, the problems began after the possession was completed. Despite assurances during the sale that snow removal for the shared pathway (which is 100 feet long) adjacent to my property would be handled by the city, I later discovered this information to be false. Attempts to address this discrepancy with the sales representative, Karen, have been met with silence, indicating a concerning lack of accountability. Furthermore, upon moving into the property, I encountered numerous quality issues that did not align with the price paid. While I appreciate that Excel Homes has been responsive in addressing these issues as they arise, I can't help but feel that more thorough testing and quality assurance measures should have been implemented beforehand, particularly for a first-time homebuyer like myself. I gave Excel Homes ample time, over a month, to rectify the situation before resorting to making this public statement. Unfortunately, their lack of action speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction and integrity. It is imperative that Excel Homes takes responsibility for rectifying these issues and improving their communication and customer service practices moving forward. In conclusion, I cannot recommend Excel Homes to prospective buyers based on my experience. The company's failure to address issues and uphold their promises has tarnished what should have been an exciting milestone in my life as a homeowner.

Overall good experience with staff, but not very happy with the quality of house materials, sound insulation is very bad, doors locks are not properly fixed, bath tubs are small.

    Buyer Beware

I would say buyer beware. Ensure you get a private home inspection prior to moving in. our home is only 7 years old and when we first moved in we found out they forgot to insulate our attic. Secondly we had to replace our hot water tank only 4 years in and we were told by the plumber that Excel did not use the right size piping. Now third we have mold in the basement that was found on the foundation walls. We have been told by two contractors now that this is a common problem with Excel homes. They do a poor job with insulating and installing the vapor barrier. We trusted this company and we have been nothing but let down and it is so unfortunate. Please when buying an excel home or any home be diligent it is your investment and builders just care about their pay check and bottom line. We have reached out to excel and they did take photos and yet we have heard nothing back and I'm sure it's because we are "out of warranty" and why should they fix their mistakes right?!

    Answer from pro:
