    Shoddy workmanship and terrible customer service

    I made the mistake of hiring Verdun to replace 6 windows. Among the MANY issues I encountered: 1) they didnt bring enough trim for the windows 2) the trim for a half-moon window was the wrong size 3) they installed 3 side by side windows at different heights. Two had to be removed and re-installed. 4) they forgot to clip in a Palladian window 5) they forgot to attach a hinge to the window so we couldnt open it 6) despite taking measurements to ensure the new windows would be the same size, all the new windows were an inch more narrow so none of our blinds fit As if that wasnt enough, the customer service was abominable. I had to pursue them to come fix all these problems. They never returned calls and even cancelled a service appointment 2 hours after wed been expecting them and told us they were too busy to re-schedule another appointment. Theyre definitely not as professional and credible as they like to promote themselves. Below is what my windows looked like nearly two months after the original installation. As if that wasnt bad enough

    Second time with Verdun, as bad as first

    After a horrendous first experience, we decided to give Verdun a second chance at making things right by us. And same as first time, the customer service is not worth the money we paid. 1/Upon signing the agreement, we got promised a 10% discount because of the bad experience we previously had. We removed a window and ended up wanting to install 3 instead of 4. Our discount then "magically" shrank to 8% instead of the 10% we were promised. Having a certain number of windows in the order was never part of the discussion. 2/Install crew came and rushed to finish the install of our 3 windows. Although the crew was not as obnoxious, and more respectful, than the first one we had, the work they did was far from what you'd expect when paying this much money for your windows. They left an absolute mess in our backyard, which I had to go pick up piece by piece (a whole dustpan worth of garbage). And this included blades of their X-ALTO knives and very sharp aluminum cuts from the window casements. We have little kids running around in our backyard and this is very dangerous to leave behind. We would have expected the crew to at least clean up behind them. But that's not all: they did not finish the caulking, neither inside, nor outside. Who installs a window without finishing the basics that's needed: caulking? Because they also were in a rush, they wrecked our wall while taking the old window off, tried to patch the mess in a way that looks even worse than leaving it as it was. An extra 1 minute would have prevented a mess and having to fix and repaint our whole wall. To make things worse: the crew was back in their truck, engine running when one of them asked for the payment to be done. How to make your customers feel pressured in paying, without even checking the work? Get your engine running on their driveway, show them you're in a rush. 3/Same as first time, I had to be the one calling their customer service to book the visit from one of their technician to come finish the job. They did not proactively contact us. No information, no final invoice, absolutely nothing. 4/Sr technician showed up earlier than planned on the day. Not a bad thing, although we could also not have been home. More importantly though, he did not have what was needed to actually finish the silicone inside. He fixed the lack of silicone on the outside, but the inside is where the biggest issue is. How do you send someone to fix a problem at a customer's home without the proper material that's needed? He left saying he was sending his notes, so that someone else would come to fix the rest of the issue. 5/10 days after his visit, we had not heard back from Verdun, again. I had to send a not so nice email to have someone call us. However, when someone finally called me, there was static on the line, so she sent an email. That was 10 days ago and to this day, we still have no appointment booked to finally see the job complete. In that whole process, at no point in time, no one has offered us to pay for the paint we need to repaint our wall that they wrecked. Or to compensate the time we will spend painting that wall. Or to give us an extra discount for the trouble we've been put through, TWICE. My time is also worth something ... but Verdun just does not care.

    Five windows and front door

    The installers came in and changed 5 windows and front door in 1 day. Work well done and quickly! Big change. Very appreciated.

    Replacement House Front Windows

    A GREAT Company to work with, the new windows fit perfectly and we are extremely pleased with their workmanship and installation crew. The windows were installed very quickly with a highly skilled personnel. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED COMPANY and Personal from sales to installation. The installers John and Mike were a pleasure to meet and consider VERDUN is very lucky to have attracted them as employees.

    Window crack replacement

    My window cracked so I called Verdun and the window was ordered and replacement completed today. The guys did a great job.

    Basement windows, New Front Door

    Good basement windows, and good installation. Beautiful front door, not cheap, but the install was a challenge because of the age of the house and the size of the previous door, but the installers did a fantastic job with it and installed it properly. It looks great!

    Nightmare

    July 2021- What a nightmare! We were introduced to Erin, very unprofessional. Promising things and then did not including them in our contract. We got booked in for the install 4 months later. We were surprised that only 3 out of 12 windows were installed properly (see photos). We waited another 4 months to get a call to come back to fix it in 2 months later (6 months from install), meanwhile we have been living with duck tape on our window. Do not put your trust in this company. They are dishonest, unreliable, and then send you to collectors even though they have yet to complete their contract. December 2021- Their salesperson Erin called the other saying she was sending us to collections because you have your year end coming up and needed the money. She also said that she was canceling our appointment to fix the 9 of 12 windows because all she wants us to hold back is $1000. Again, the experience with Erin has been horrible right from the beginning. If you could please correct this. Come as originally planned to install the windows correctly. We are more than happy to sign off that the work is completed once its completed. May 2022- How long do we wait before we find another contractor to complete the work? How many visits does it take to complete a window job? (The installers said it was an easy job).

    Quick and easy warranty fix

    Benj and Luke were timely with their arrival, called ahead and got the job done quickly. They tidied up, shined up the replacement transom and were gone within half an hour! They were friendly and kind. I appreciate their work, time and effort.
