    Home inspection

    I am a very demanding person and I dont like "unexpected surprises". When we were about to put an offer to a house, we were nervous. The house already had a seller inspection report from the largest home inspection company in Toronto, but I just felt that something was wrong. The night before the offer date, we called Vahn at around 10:00pm, asked for his availability and price.We got him from Homestar.ca and a referral from a friend. His price is in line with other guys on the web and based on his positive reviews, we hired him. He was very honest over the phone and provided his thoughts on our "dream house" based on my description. When he arrived the next day, he spent over 5 hours on the house with us. It's a tiny house (under 2000 sq ft), but because we needed to make a quick decision for the offer that night, so he almost felt it was his responsibility to tell us everything we needed to know. The seller's report said the whole roof was new with premium quality material, and the attic was in a really good shape with extra insulation. When Vahn went up in the attic area, he told us there was a significant amount of mould up there and insulation was low.There are a lot of other things that sell's inspector was trying to cover up(eg. flooded basement) but Vahn was able to identify and advice us. That mould situation was a deal breaker for us. We walked away from the house that night, but felt that we learned SO MUCH from Vahn. Absolutely amazing guy. He is so knowledgeable about everything and he was willing to teach us everything. We never lived in a house before, so there were so many stupid questions that we asked him about. I strongly recommend anyone to use Vahn's service. I know we will definitely hire him for our next house inspection. It's hard to find someone so good in the house inspection industry (especially compared to that seller's inspector from the largest house inspection company in Toronto).

    Home inspection

    extremely knowledgeable. Vahn from Solex Group spent 3.5 hours on inspecting our home from the Roof to the basement. He provided a thorough report on what needs to be fixed on the immediate and long term. He definitely provides more than a visual inspection and goes above and beyond to ensure your confidence and satisfaction. I highly recommend Vahn and Solex for home buyers.

    Home Inspection

    My wife and I recently had the pleasure of working with Vahn. Our realtor recommended a home inspector but we weren't fully confident with that company and being first time home owners, we wanted to make sure we were working with a true professional. So, we called him based on his reviews and in-depth website. Vahn spent a good amount of time on the phone with us and was able to come on short notice to inspect a home we had an offer on. We were really impressed by the level of detail he provided on site and his openness to all our questions. He also sent a very detailed report the next morning to help us finalize our offer. Overall, we're happy to have found Vahn and will certainly work with him for our future home purchases. Humble and intelligent professionals like him are hard to find -- it goes without saying that we highly recommend him.

    I had the most amazing experience with Solex Group

    Vahn was very thorough and professional. When I saw the report all I have to say is wow!! Was amazed at everything it included. It even had pictures, diagrams and time frames to let me know if something had to be done immediately or if it could wait - which was great for me in trying to determine which issues I had to prioritize. I also got the seller to reduce the price after what he had found. Can't recommend them enough!!

    Higher standards in Ontario's home inspection industry

    If you are looking for someone you can trust to inspect your own home or a home you are looking to purchase then Vahn Balabanian of Solex Group is the one to do it. You can expect to get a thorough and detailed inspection. I would not hesitate to ask Vahn to do another inspection, and would recommend him to anyone I know. Thanks for the great work Vahn!

    Home Inspection

    We just bought our second home and have again used Solex Group for our home inspection. It was a no brainer for us; Vahn is very professional & accommodating, he broke things down so we understood the potential issues/risks with our new home. Vahn's reporting is second to none. Vahn goes above and beyond with the report. The photos vs written information are easy to go through and was a huge factor in us using Solex this second time around. Do yourself a favor, use Solex. You won't be disappointed.

    Thanks for the great feedback Andy. It's nice to be appreciated....my reports typically take 1 to 2 hrs to complete after the inspection on-site. Sure it's nice to get a report after the inspection right on site (I used to do that for many years). But bottom line, a quality report takes time to prepare. Lots of photos, illustrations, recommendations with time frames, a summary, and various relevant documents/articles are included to make a great report.     Home Inspection

    This was our first home purchase and having a complete home inspection was important to us. Vahn arrived on time was extremely patient with all our questions and his attention to detail is impeccable. He check the roof and it is our understanding that not many home inspectors pull out ladders and go up on the roof and he did not rush through our home. He explained each step of his process and gave us a sense of security about our home, His report is amazing, it has the same attention to detail he gave our home during his inspection with photos of the areas we need to pay attention to and we received it the same day in the evening as our inspection. I would recommend you use Solex for your home inspection without hesitation.

    Thank you for taking the time to post a review Loretta. You're right - I'm surprised how many realtors are telling me how surprised they were that I actually got on the roof. Just recently, an agent was shocked that I got on a two story roof. He told me after all the years in business, he had never seen a home inspector actually walk on a roof. Personally I was very surprised. Although we aren't required to walk on a roof, I make every effort to do so. Being fairly lean/athletic also helps not only when it comes to accessing roofs, but attic hatches in tight closets!

    Home Inspection

    I couldn't have asked for a better inspection. My wife and I got a detailed report that pointed out the issues, and also to help us understand home maintenance better. We would definitely recommend Solex Group to everyone looking for a comprehensive inspection of a home. Marc Wabgou

    Home Inspection

    I used Solex Group for my home inspection. Vahn was excellent and very professional with the home inspection. The report that he provided was very comprehensive. I would recommend Solex group to anyone looking for quality home inspection.

    Buyers Home Inspection

    Thank you for taking time to inspect the house yesterday and provide such a professional report. I called Vahn and we arranged the inspection of my new house the next day. During the inspection, Vahn checked exterior and interior very carefully and explained the details of the various issues as well as any positive aspects of the house. He also explained how the systems (e.g. HRV system, Air filter system etc.) work and what maintenance is needed. In the whole process of the inspection, I learned a lot from Vahn and I got confidence to live in the new house. Thanks Vahn for your dedication! Great job!
