    Reliable and Great Workmanship

We had a mice problem that's been bothering us for quite some time. Other companies came and did minor inspections and put baits around, however that didn't solve the issue. We called Joe after reading the reviews on homestars, and let me say the reviews are spot on: he showed up the same day, did an extremely thorough inspection, was extremely personable, did the treatment and scheduled us for a follow-up. He found the source of the problem pretty quickly which brought us relief. His pricing was very fair for the amount of work he had to do. I'll be calling Snap Pest Control for all my future needs and highly recommend them!

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for your review. The issue here was that my client was feeling nervous about mice that had been entering his home in the fall months. He had a couple of companies out and just wasn't satisfied with the basic inspections and installation of bait stations. Speaking to him on the phone he told me that he didn't see actual evidence but was suspicious that there was still an issue. Being a person who trusts their instincts I have the upmost respect for individuals that are also like minded. In the end I booked the job for the same day as I was off and needed to get outta the house so it was perfect. Arriving at my clients home and gathering some details over the phone earlier I had already derived at a few possible scenarios. From the moment I entered the driveway I suspected one clear location which I'd seen before and made a mental note to inspect. I checked the entire house with emphasis on the garage. The garage bait stations were untouched with a bait that I would never use for mice. Rats yes they love this particular bait but mice not so much. In total I counted approximately 5 bait stations which hadn't been touched at all that were insufficient in number. Which means that the mice within the home couldn't possibly have succumbed to the rodenticide. Red flag number 1. No follow up to determine results. Suffice it to say the garage itself wielded a wealth of evidence once I moved things around and eliminated other possibilities. Knowing were to look in a garage is vitally important however my suspicion doesn't prevent me from still checking other areas as I've learned over the years that mice could have multiple access points. In fact there was one exactly were I suspected when I drove up the driveway in tandem with the garage. This location from the basements insulation proved to be the real access spot and now it all made sense. Red flag number two, this particular area was never seen nor sealed which means that the mice could and would continue to seek refuge in my clients home. The issue was never resolved and my client finally had the answers he needed. I took pictures for closure, sealed up the locations applied the correct bait for mice and will follow up in 6 to 8 weeks to make sure that we are on the correct path to a mouse free home. The job took 2 and a half hours to complete. Joe

    Squirrel- moving into bathroom exhaust

Joe the owner was awesome, I had a squirrel moving into my bathroom exhaust. He was able to squeeze me in for next day. Love the service he provide and resolved a complex issue. I would highly recommend Snap pest control.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for your review. The location of the exhaust vent was tricky which made this issue complex. In the end with some determination and hard work everything turned out perfectly. Installed a new vent plate and fabricated a cover with mesh so that the issue never happens again. I like permanent solutions, especially in hard to reach places.Joe

    Great service

We had Joe in to deal with an animal in our roof. It was a complex issue but he managed to figure out where the animal was entering the house and install a solution that fixed the problem immediately, which was a huge relief. Fair, transparent pricing and great to deal with - would highly recommend Snap!

Thanks guys for your review I know that this raccoon caused your family a lot of grief but it's finally out for good. The job wasn't easy because of that glass overhang but things worked out well in the end. Joe snappestcontrol@gmail.com snappestcontrol.com 647 991 1803

Rat problem solved after 20 years

We tried other pest control companies but all they did was put down traps and poison. The rats would keep coming back. Joe actually got to the source of the problem. He found the hole they were getting in by, using his camera technology, and closed it. It's now been 2 months and I haven't heard or seen a rat. I am very happy with Joe's services and would highly recommend him. No other pest control companies do the type of work that Joe does

    Answer from pro:

Rat problems in and around Toronto and the GTA are a real issue for a homeowner. The situation never fully resolves itself with bait or traps alone and it seems that the industry hasn't fully come grasp this. The reality is that there is a structural component to the job that requires the removal of walls, floors, insulation, droppings etc... If a company comes in and installs bait stations around the exterior/interior of a home this situation will not work in the long run. I've done many rat jobs and I can tell you now that the access point for rats must be found and sealed in order to gain any semblance of long lasting control. To think that spending a few hundred dollars on some bait and or traps alone is enough, is just a waste of money. This issue went on for twenty years with no end in sight for my clients. I removed some walls and drilled into flooring before I was able to pinpoint the source of the access. Four visits were required with baiting, cement, and subsequent follow up before I was content. They went through company after company and nobody knew what to do nor cared about really getting to the root of the issue. Please call me, I will help you with this even if it's just for advice over the phone. Joe snappestcontrol@gmail.com snappestcontrol.com 647 991 1803

    Netting installation around deck

Joe did a phenomenal job installing netting around the back end our deck where we had a creature digging a home for the winter. It was a very tricky spot to build, and he did a fantastic job of it! I would highly recommend his services! Thank you Joe.

I did get quite the workout on this job. For me my work seems to always be in tricky spots. I was rained on and it was cold but I managed to get this job done. The job came out well and I couldn't be happier with the results. Thanks for your review.

    Mice control

Joe arrived as scheduled and listened attentively to the details of our mice problem. He then proceeded to investigate and thoroughly looked at all of the places where the mice were travelling in the basement garage and the exterior of the house. He was on his knees looking for entry points and discovered where the mice were coming in from the garage. He patiently assisted me with securing entry points at the garage door and explained everything to me. He then began to place bait in insulation of the basement where there mice had created channels as the roamed about. Bait was placed in other strategic Places. I would highly recommend Joe for the great job he did to eliminate my issue, above and beyond service. Keep up the great work!

    Answer from pro:

Took some time but we found the entry point. We were both determined to get to the bottom of the mouse issue from the very outset. I went in the garage and looked yet found no clues. Then I left the garage and inspected the perimeter and found very little access. So once again I went back into the garage a second time and then noticed something strange which led me to the source. Sometimes the access is obvious and then again sometimes its a small opening which leads to another which leads to somewhere which we cannot see except to remove building material. The size of the tunnels along with the corresponding compressed insulation led me to believe the issue had been going on for quite some time. I was looking for a particular kind of rodent evidence and was relieved to find it in the garage. For me I've amassed quite a vast library of rodent clues over the years and I've learned to read rodent tracks and sebum marks on all kinds of substrates. Rub marks like those found in this particular garage on drywall tape with white builders grade primer are always of particular interest to me. The case is mostly finalized but I will be returning to check up on things. Thanks for your kind review. Joe

    eliminating squirrel nest

Joe went above and beyond to remedy a squirrel's nest in our gable. After ensuring that the squirrel was gone, he carefully cut a hole to close the gap, secured it, and painted it, so that the gable looks as good as new. I think many other pest control specialists would have put mesh over the hole and recommended we get a carpenter to finish the job.

    Answer from pro:

This was such a fun job to do. The squirrel chewed a hole the size of a grapefruit outta that gable. Luckily enough a few pieces of plywood were lying around in the garage which were used to make some backing strips and a nice cut-out. I made a template with some cardboard then traced out an outline of the opening with my jigsaw. Wood filler was then used to hide the joints which were then painted with matching paint which was also in the garage. Came out perfectly and took an hour and a half. I've got a enough tools and material in my truck to handle most of these special requests. I believe in being prepared for any and all eventualities when I'm driving around on my adventures.I

    Wasp removal from chimney

Joe is amazing and can be recommended without hesitation. I had a persistent problem over several months with wasps somehow getting into my basement. The first pest control service I consulted had no luck figuring out the source of the problem. A nice guy, but the gist of it was that he could help me only if I could tell him where the nest was. This was precisely my problem! I called a second pest control company and had the good luck to be referred on to Joe. He spotted almost immediately a squished wasp in a tiny crack above the chimney cleanout. We sealed off the area, but the wasps continued to get in, obviously somehow down the chimney. In the end, Joe solved the problem by vacuuming up as many wasps as he could around the top of the chimney (took about an hour), and then dusting with an insecticide down the chimney. A total of three service calls, a real remedy for the problem, and his rates are VERY reasonable. I appreciated so many things about his work. He is clearly a real problem solver, he doesn't propose expensive treatments, and he is not quick to use any toxic solutions unless he has to. He is reliable, punctual, and also a very nice guy.

    Answer from pro:

The wasps were indeed getting into the basement and I didn't want to make things worse. I luckily, had seen this situation on a previous job and knew right away that there was a direct link somewhere on the exterior which was facilitating the issue. The dead wasp in the chimney clean out pointed me in the right direction and once outside with my binoculars pointed upwards I could see wasps entering to and from a small opening on the chimney itself. At this point I taped up the cleanout tight against any other further incursions. Once it was confirmed we had things sealed well I came back to finish the job. The roof was steep and difficult to access but eventually I managed to get the gear up there. From a distance I positioned my vacuum on an extension pole and created a huge swarm of wasps. I sat on that steep roof as still as possible for over an hour under this swarm and picked off around 500 wasps before injecting the dust into the cavity of the chimney. The job was completed in a timely manner with the results that I wanted hence this nice review. This leads me to another job which I will briefly touch upon. Three weeks ago and before this job mentioned above I was called to a home in Milton which was experiencing a raccoon problem. As I approached the lower roof I quickly noted a large wasp nest which was attached to some soffit. My initial reaction was to remove it but the issue was raccoons so I simply steered clear of it and carefully went about my business of installing a 1 way door and some roof vent covers. Remember the wasp nest was way on the other side of my work and I was feeling confident with my approach to things. Once I was finished and I passed it carefully just one last time I was attacked by about 15 wasps and stung on my hands and arms quite intensely. Those wasps picked the wrong guy to mess with that day. Truthfully, I didn't want to kill them but in the end I wiped out that whole nest for free because I was so messed up with their stings. This was a great learning experience for me and I didn't let it make me feel fearful towards wasps. Had I let that experience effect me I wouldn't have been able to deal with the swarm I created on the chimney just weeks later. Just another experience for me as I go about my adventures as an exterminator. Thanks for your review by the way.Joe
