Reply created 17 Nov 2023Thanks for the review. The nest was high up and due to its location only a matter of time before some other birds came along. The corner and the small section of eavestrough were meshed right off with nesting material removed. The only thing was there were brownish smear marks which spanned a 2 foot section which were an eyesore to me. With some hot water and some dish soap and a lot of elbow grease it came off in 20 minutes. I was happy to do it. Joe snappestcontrol@gmail.com 647 991 1803 Joe

As luck would have it, while I was on my ladder removing a birds nest I spotted an area whereby mice were gaining entry into my clients home. The issue wasn't even apparent until I went inside and located the droppings which were visible in key areas of the basement. To me the mice were a bigger problem than the birds. After all mice are responsible chewing on wires, plastic water lines, spread germs, and hence are known to cause anguish for many a homeowner. Since I was already at the house I took care of it. I typically include a quick free inspection on all my jobs as a courtesy to my clients. To me I figure why not it usually doesn't take up to much of my time as I'm there anyways. As an added benefit I gives me more practice which just makes me a better exterminator. Joe

Reply created 25 Apr 2023Thanks for your review. This job was the first of what was to be a fairly busy day for me and I was optimistic it would be straight forward. The conversation the previous evening conjured up the image of a squirrel that had chewed through some stucco. Not knowing what to expect there was in my mind a certain degree of the unknown which I was prepared for. Upon arrival I was expecting to see a large chewed out hole in the decorative block atop the second story window. To my surprise the area in question appeared normal. My client assured me that there were noises emanating from the location and I unloaded my ladder and promptly raised it towards the decorative block. The ladder was rocky and just as I reached the top a squirrel jumped out of the Styrofoam which was a complete surprise to me. Not visible from the ground it was clearly evident now that this particular squirrel had build itself quite a cozy home. The block was almost completely hollowed out with only a thin veneer left to give it a rectangular shape. The fact that my ladder didn't cave the whole thing in or that it didn't just come crashing down with myself included along for the ride was a miracle. Coming down the ladder my thoughts were that the situation was dire in that yes the squirrel was out but what was stopping it from returning. The squirrel was still on top of the roof looking at us both and awaiting our next move. I could easily have just blocked the small area where it had created access but the squirrel could easily just chew into another section of it at will because it was just so soft. Also, the fact that it was detaching itself from the house and allowing water to compromise the windows beneath it became a real concern for me. The only sensible thing to do therefore was to clad the block in aluminum flashing. Cladding made sense in that the squirrel would be locked out, the block could be attached to the house properly, and everything would be waterproof. So off to the home depot I was. Estimating that I would need to drive 20 minutes, walk into the store 5 minutes, find the material (aluminum, Pl adhesive caulking and matching aerosol spray) 15 minutes, checkout 5 minutes, walk to the truck and load material 10 minutes, return back to house 20 minutes, shake the aerosol can and spray aluminum 10 minutes, cut and shape 10 minutes, go up the ladder and glue the whole block 5 minutes, come back down lift all the aluminum up and screw it into the glue plus attach everything to the house with screws and washers spaced out every foot along a 6 foot span 30 minutes, get down the ladder put away all my tools and ladder 15 minutes get payed and say goodbye and call my next client to say I would be late 10 minutes. That job took two and a half hours. For $ 300 but it looks great, is waterproof and squirrel proof. Nobody in my business would have done what I did. They would have stapled some mesh to the open section for $ 300 and walked away within twenty minutes. That is what it means to go above and beyond. I put a photo on the photos section. Reply created 5 Apr 2023This is why I just love my job. The satisfaction of getting the pest issue resolved so that there are permanent results is what its all about. I had to dismantle two deck areas before the hole was located which took hours. The mice cannot get in now they are sealed out which is 95 % of the problem. We just need to deal with the 5 % of what's inside because no others can get in. Some well placed commercial bait in key locations and the road to a pest free home are absolutely within reach. So happy this went well for my clients and I thank you for your business and your review. Joe Bruno snappestcontrol.com 647 991 1803
