    Water Tank Leak/Failure

    Purchased a house 2 years ago with a Reliance water tank rental, and took over responsibility for the rental. Soon after moving into the house, we noticed we had yellow/rusty hot water. When we called the service repair tech came on site within 24 hours and replaced the anode, showing us the old one that was rusted out and nasty. We had clear water for about a week, then it started to get yellow again. When we called back we were told that we likely needed a new heater, but that we would have to pay to have it installed unless the old one had "failed". Oh, Ok. I guess we just became second rate customers who get the yellow tank and have to wait until we have a blow-out to get service. Well, tonight I am away on business and got a call from my wife saying that the tank was leaking all over the basement floor. I was able to tell her where the tank shut-off valve was, but it didn't stop 60 gal of water from leaking out all over the basement. When I called the 1-866 # for "24 hour emergency service" I was told a technician would call and arrange a visit within 3 hours. When I got the call, I was told the earliest he could come would be tomorrow morning. So much for 24 hour service. I was also told that while, yes, a new tank would obviously be needed, it would still cost us $156 to install it as the vent pipe is not covered, only the tank. If you go to Reliance's website for water heaters, it advertises that "ALL parts and labour" is covered (emphasis by Reliance, not me). So much for that promise. The technician told me that Reliance often waves that fee if you call and complain enough, (what? Why is it up to me to call and whine to get what you promised me in the first place?) so I called the 1-866 # back and was told to talk to the service department in the morning. Again, so much for 24 hour service. Next time, get a machine to answer to tell me to call back in the morning, then lower my rates. Very, very, very disappointed. Reliance let me down in every aspect that I was expecting to have them help me. I could have saved my monthly fee in a savings account; it would have paid for two new tanks by now, including a warranty and installation. I've paid my bill every month, on time, in full for 2 years, and two thirds of the time I needed you, you let me down, Reliance. I will give you the chance to make this right. If you do, I will remove this rating, if not, this rating stays up here, and I stop being your customer and make sure everyone I know hears how you took our money then screwed us. March 20, 2014.

    water heater replacement

    Joey D./0977 responded to replace leaking water heater. Courteous, professional and meticulous. Patiently explained differences between old controls and new tank. A pleasure to have in my home. Thank you Joey!

    On-demand water heater rental

    I would like to thank Brian from the Sudbury office for calling us before Christmas to see if we were satisfied with our on -demand water heater. We shared with him at the time that we experienced some problems with our new high efficiency FRIGIDAIRE dishwasher since we changed to the on- demand water heater. We were never advised by either Reliance or Lowes, the store where we purchased the FRIGIDAIRE kitchen appliances, not to use jell pack soap in the dishwasher if we had an on- demand water heater. As a result our dishwasher broke and we incurred the cost of a certified technician and parts to fix the dishwasher. Reason being, the water does not get hot enough with that system to dissolve jell packs. Brian advised me that if I could get the certified technician to confirm our findings in writing they would compensate us for the costs incurred. Brian called yesterday to confirm that he received the report from the technician and that we would be refunded accordingly for the costs incurred. And for that we are very greatful, Thanks again Brian firstly for the client service call before the holidays and then for the follow-up to our concerns. Kindest regards. :)

    Hot water tank

    Giancarlo and Wes came and installed a new water tank for me today. My old water tank was leaking and giancarlo found a crack in the vent, which was replaced as well. Thank you for your friendly smiles and hard work.

    Hot water tank

    Had an issue with our mix valve on our hot water tank. Bradley Starratt came and explained everything openly and gave me all my options. What an amazing tech! Made sure everything was working perfectly before he left. Would definitely recommend him to anyone that needed an honest technician, and not a salesman.

    Hi, We are very pleased with the replacement of our water heater on March 20th 2014 at 12:00 by Joey D. 0977 . Quick service, on time, excellent communication by text and phone, excellently installed and friendly service. Probe,em solved matching pipes, wall connections etc to 13 year old heater that was replaced. Thank you

    Furnace/Air-conditioning installation

    We rented a new high efficiency furnace and air-conditioner and the sales person, Maureen, was knowledgeable and helpful. The two young men, Josh and Jon , who installed them were some of the best workmen we have had over years of owning homes. They reconfigured the furnace position so it would comply with new regulations without any renovations; they completed the job early; cleaned up and explained the use and maintenance of the new equipment thoroughly. We have rented these from Reliance, so I wasn't sure about what to put in costs.

    Keith from reliance Essex replaced my water heater , he then offered to clean water lines out , which he did the following day . I found him very professional & courteous . Thanks for a job well done.

    Furnace repairs

    After having an outdoor gas leak, we were told that our furnace was not in compliance and we had 35 days to repair. The first tech had no supplies, the second tech said it was the installers issue. the third tech Adam Walker was extremely helpful, took a look at everything, made a list of parts, and delivered on his promise of coming back the next day and completing the repairs, arrived on time, was quick, courteous, explained what he did, cleaned up, and was very professional, Thanks Adam for all your help and your attention to detail, hopefully we never have an issue but if we do, I'm asking for you!

    Furnace and Air Conditioner Installation

    Ken & Joe came and installed our new rental furnace on Feb 11, 2014. They were friendly, professional, helpful and tidy. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needed work done. When explaining the concept of renting a furnace and air conditioner "service" Sonia was very helpful and showed excellent customer service skills.
