We met with Frank on April 29, 2017. He did an excellent job of explaining what options were available for us. We decided on a Rheem 1000 (2-1/2 ton) air conditioner. That unit was installed the next day when it was cold outside, so the air conditioner could not be set up. The Home Reliance Team did an excellent job on the installation which was done neatly and very professionally . However, no one from Reliance followed up on the setup of the air conditioner. I turned on my unit on a hot day and I was able to measure the temperature at 58°F with a digital temperature meter after the air passed over the cooling coil. You are supposed to have a difference of 18-20°F between the cold air return and the air coming over the coil. The cold air return was 71°F. Therefore, there was only a difference of 13°F°. So I called Reliance. One of their techs come over and verified that it was low on gas. He had to put in 2 pounds of gas. When the coil was rechecked, the temperature was now down to 51.5°F, a difference of 19.5°F which is satisfactory. So my main complaint is Reliance should have followed up after the new air conditioner was installed on April 30th. It was not my responsibility to have to verify that there was a problem because there was not enough gas in the unit. Had I not been technical and checked, the unit would have perhaps shut down due to improper setup. As well, the day after the gas installation, I discovered 2 brass nuts beside the air conditioner that had not been screwed onto their proper place.
