    Furnace and air conditioner consult

Michelle Bosch came to our house to advise us on the status of our furnace and air conditioner. She spent 2 hours giving us great insight on what best fits our needs. She was very friendly, knowledgable and thorough. Very pleasurable, no pressure experience. Dan T.

    heating & plumbing protection

We had a leak under the kitchen sink and neither my husband nor I could bend or kneel down to fix it. I called reliance and they were able to come our right away. They said he would be here between 7 & 11 am and he was here at 9 am and he was very friendly and courteous. He went right to work and was done by 11 am. He cleaned up after himself. Thank you Mr. Grant Mr & Mrs J & K Thompson

    Hot Water Tank

Homeowner's worst nightmare when you have an offer on your house, the home inspector comes to do the inspection, gives the buyer two thumbs up - the paperwork gets signed and is a done deal - and the next night you come home to find that the hot water tank decides to kick the bucket! This was discovered Monday night about 5:00 pm. We called to have a service technician out to look at it, customer service was able to send someone that night even though it was late. They arrived around 7:45 pm. He determined we needed a new tank and that the venting of the exhaust was not to code and the piping would need to be replaced as well. The tank is covered because it is a rental unit but not the piping that runs to the outside of the house. We have a finished basement and the piping runs through the dry walled ceiling. Needless to say we were panicking thinking about the mess this was going to create and how we were going to explain this to the new home owners. And if this could effect the contract for the purchase of the house. The work could not be done that night - they had to schedule for another person to come Tuesday night to do the replacement. When Tim Sylvester came to the house to assess the situation he informed us that he could run the pipe back through the same brackets in the ceiling and out through the same hole in the back of the house. That was a relief. All we had to do was cut a couple holes out of the ceiling to allow him to get at the pipe. He was very informative and helpful in explaining how to go about doing this as well. They don't cut the holes for liability reasons - which we understood. Tim came back on Wednesday night after we had done our part to complete the replacement of the tank and run the new piping. All I can say is that he did an amazing job! A one man show. He was able to remove the old pipe, and install the new pipe exactly like he promised. No mess, no issues! He really impressed us. This was not an easy job by any means but he never complained and made it look amazing. We are very pleased with the job Tim did. He saved us a lot of grief, extra cleaning and work. The new home owners are going to be very pleased that this was done and it will never have to be an issue for them. Thank you again Tim Sylvester - RCW3520

Kim Dietz was our Home Comfort Advisor who presented us options that best suited our needs for our air conditioning needs. He was kind, patient and worked swiftly to get us the best deal and quickest install date possible. His professionalism was on point for Reliance Home Services and I am happy we chose Reliance for our air conditioning needs. We would recommend to any of our friends and family.

2.5 Days Without Hot Water and Questionable Contracting Out

The Reliance rental hot water tank stopped working Saturday evening. We called Sunday morning and we're instructed to book an appointment for the following Monday which we did in the PM. A contractor, Dillon (not a Reliance staff), showed up and was clearly inexperienced having to call in for instructions. We left him alone so he could focus. When finished he told us the part needed (igniter) was no longer made and they would need to install a new tank. He left then nervously returned 'needing' to remove a part he'd installed that was no longer needed and removed the vacuum trigger (?) assembly for the vent system and left. Heater not fixed, no hot water and we lost an afternoon's wages missing work for the service call. Next day's (Tues) appointment Tony 1362, a Reliance Employee and Installer, called and explained he didn't have the proper tank and would be right over to see if he could fix it. Tony clearly new what he was doing and was dismayed to find the previous contractor had not fixed the problem, taken parts and left the gas on. He tested all parts and replaced (you guessed it) the igniter and vent system trigger/switch part ... we had hot water within an hour. The reason we rent is for fast service but having been w/out hot water for 4 days straight this did not happen. Further, we are very disappointed in Reliance sending out a contractor who 1) didn't know enough about what he was doing 2) seemingly left with a part not belonging to him and 3) didn't get the job done when it was fixable instead opting for a new tank install which, as it turned out, was not needed after all. We gave a 4/10 rating as Tony did an excellent job and the telephone support staff held-up there end of the game. Reliance had been great in 2015 with a service call by an experienced employee who did a great job. However, due to our recent negative experience with the contractor assigned we're looking at other options.

    blocked kitchen sink

Blake P. came to our house determined what was wrong fixed it . It was more involved than a simple blockage but he was quick and did everything the right way. He explained what he was doing thoughout the job. Cleaned up perfectly would definately ask for him if I ever had another plumbing problem. I thought the bill was very fair considering the time he spent on the job and I could put the charge on my monthly bill. Heather

    New Furnance Installation

Chris, Mike, Joe and Ken were very professional. Installation wasn't easy, as our house is 100 years old and they kept finding asbestos. Blair, the gentleman who removed the asbestos was wonderful. The guys did a wonderful job, explained things very thoroughly. Our new furnace will make a huge difference.
