    No Hot Water

I got a new Hot Water Tank in April or May - This new tank has a Vapour Sensor on it - Since it was installed I had to call Reliance three times - First just reset the tank - Second gentlemen said that the Vapour Sensor was faulty and he replaced with a new one. These 2 visits lasted 10 minutes. The third time Reliance came to the house it was with two gentlemen. One named Randy H. and the second one was Grant W. - They are based our of North Bay, Ontario they were very nice and good at their job, they were at my house for just about an hour - they tested everything - even went outside to check the vent. If anything happens again - and I call Reliance I am going to make sure that I ask for Randy H & Grant W. nobody else do I want coming to my home - So thanks so much Randy & Grant have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Regards Susan Rochon

    Furnace maintenance

The service I received today was excellent.. The service technician Jason DAA4387 was very polite and personable. I had asked for an evening appt but was told that the appt had to be betweem 1 and 5 - although I said that I could not get home until 3PM. There was a "sorry we missed you " note on the door... when I called to see if someone could come back today the customer service rep said that yes that could be made to happen .

    New Heating/Cooling System

I recently joined Reliance Protection Plan. As part of this plan, a technician checked my old furnace. He found a serious carbon monoxide issue. A Reliance representative came to my home and discussed my options clearly. I selected to rent new furnace and ac system.

    furnace

Woke up Sunday morning with no heat called right away was told no one could come until Monday 8-12 lucky we have a wood burning stove. At 11:30 am Monday I call to see if tech was running on time I was told well you were quoted 8-12. Not impressed hung up and within 15 min another rep called to inform me tech was running behind about an hour, which happens but honesty sells. The tech showed up finally around 2pm was pleasant when first met went downstairs to check out furnace which yes is and old one but great one. He started right away with sales pitch to buy a new furnace and I made it quite clear we were not interested and would pay to fix this one unless there was no possible way to. He continued to tell me what a bottom of the line furnace I had and how much better a new high efficiency furnace would be again ignoring the fact I had made myself clear. I had been a customer with reliance a long time even in previous addresses I have always paid the protection plan which does not cover the heat exchanger which we were fine with. So he cleaned or so I thought he did a few things got her up and running then decided he had to do a CO2 test after running the furnace for about 5 min after she had been off since Saturday. Of course the CO2 reading came back high so informed me it had to be shut down for safety reasons which I completely agreed. Now feeling sick to my stomach thinking how I could have endangered my family wondering why my co2 detector which is less than 3 months old didn't pick up on this. Then he lets me know its my heat exchanger its got to be cracked. Knowing here comes more sales pitch called in my husband from work to now deal with Sean and the service manager who was with him. My husband arrives and he begins to tell him about the heat exchanger and without a thought my husbands reply was ok we will have it replaced the tech continued on about buying a new one and how its not worth it for this furnace. After a great deal( might I mention in my house) of back in forth pretty much being told what a stupid mistake we were making he came back with a quote wrote up the furnace and shut the gas down. Later that evening we realized our hot water wasn't really hot so went to check the hot water heater which had been replaced by Ryan 3316 the week before who was a complete professional realized it was shut down and our gas dryer was off too he had shut down our main not just the furnace. Now being left without heat, hot water or the dryer my husband once again called reliance and of course we could have an appointment between 8-12 the next day my husband refused and spoke to service manager Christine who right away got on it and had someone out within a couple hours to turn back on gas for water heater and dryer. Both not feeling confident with your techs diagnosis chose to get a second option about the furnace from a company that is a dealer in our brand of furnace expecting an appointment some time the next day was pleasantly surprised to have someone at my house within hours... the tech starting checking everything before getting to the heat exchanger which we told him was broken and everything that was cleaned the day before had to be done properly this time my husband and I watched every thing he did then got into where the heat exchanger(which ours still has 2 years left on a 20 year warranty which again your tech didn't know) is and cleaned and checked for cracks and nothing NOTHING WRONG WITH IT we made sure to get photos. After a proper cleaning and check up oh and the finding the reliance tech put the flame sensor rod back in the wrong spot we signed on with this new company paying more than what we were paying with reliance to feel safe and taken care of.

    Furnace Maintenance

We had Randy H and Grant W here yesterday. We have had a lot of issues since our furnace and air units were installed, but finally we had a couple of technicians that actually cared enough to address our issues. Thank you Randy and Grant for great service. (Technician DAA3311) Although we finally got the great service needed, something needs to be done with the call center used to address issues. They were not sympathetic to our issues and was unable to resolve our problem. I called because I had missed out on a days pay waiting for a technician to show up. I had an appointment set and there was no show. When I called Reliance all they kept saying was they will book me another appointment. There was no apology or understanding for what I was telling them. I think more training needs to go into the customer service part of this company.

    Furnace replacement

Mike Morphy was professional and extremely helpful and easy to talk to and work with, I have already recommended him to two coworkers. The furnace removal and installation was seamless.
