    Hot water tank rental

On Wednesday, November 16 I had a technician of yours come to service my hot water tank, which is rented through you. While here he noticed that the exhaust was not hooked up properly, which was allowing Carbon Monoxide to be pumped into my basement. Your technician told me the last service we had was in December of 2015. During that service, your technician unhooked the tank, including the exhaust and removed a floater from a pipe close by. When he hooked it back up, he did not attach the exhaust. Since December of 2015, my wife became pregnant and has just recently delivered our daughter. She was extremely ill her entire pregnancy. She suffered from severe headaches, light-headedness, and extreme nausea and vomiting. Doctors could not identify a cause for her illness. She was in the hospital on multiple occasions, admitted for a long period of time and then was sent home with home nursing care to help manage her illness. Due to her being so ill, she was rendered unable to work in May of 2016. While we can’t say for certain that her illness was a direct result of the Carbon Monoxide present in our house, there is a high possibility that it negatively impacted her health and well-being. The Carbon Monoxide would not have been present should your technician had of been thorough in his repairs. His negligence caused financial stress to my wife and I, and potentially caused great physical harm to both my wife and our unborn child. Thankfully another problem arose with the tank, causing us to have it serviced again and allowing for this issue to be caught. My daughter was 3 days old at the time of the service. The thought of something happening to her as a result of your technicians’ negligence is unbearable. I have attempted to resolve this issue with the local service manager, however have been unsuccessful. The only thing he said was that his technicians were very well trained and that he doubted it affected anyone in our house. If a satisfactory resolution cannot be made in the near future, we will be seeking further legal opinion.

    Furnace repair

I called Reliance for a leak in my furnace. A repairman came out and thankfully figured out what the problem was. Two days later, Ricky came out with the part and fixed the problem. Very polite and a pleasure to deal With!

    Furnace and A/C Installation

Ryan and Aaron did a great job installing the furnace and A/C. They were professional and efficient. They also did a great job cleaning up and explaining the new system to me. Thanks for a super job. Peter

    Leaking rental hot water tank

Hot water tank started to leak at 11 pm. Called service number shortly after that. Was give a appointment the next day between 1-5 pm to have a teck check it out to confirm that the tank was actually leaking. In the mean time I had 189 liters of water draining onto my floor. Tank was 13 years old and leaking out the bottom. Could not be repaired. Ask to have replacement installed the next day. Asia stuck to her script insisting the teck had to verify leak. Ask to speak to manager...placed on hold for 10 minutes. Asia came back on line stating manager Adelaid not available and appointment would stand.(1-5pm next day) Early the next morning called reliance telling my story again to another rep in the call center. he told me the tank leak could be plugged and that a teck had to check it out first. He was told that I had a tank that was 12 years old replaced in 2003 and now this tank in 2016 (13 years old) was not repairable and sending a teck to look at it was a waste of time. I wanted the tank replaced that day. He referred to the customer care center. Going through my story again I was told that the best they could do was the next day between 7-11 am with a new tank. Having paid 4450.00 dollars in rental fees...this is the best they could do. WOW. next day two tecks arrived with a tank. My current tank was 50 gals. tecks had a 40 gal. The 40 although very scratched and dent (trip from mexico I was told) was new. If i wanted a 50 gal, he could get me one but it would be refurbished. REALLY. I took the 40. They removed the old tank in minutes because I had already drained it. They brought in the new tank and after putting it in place they informed me that a new TSSA code requirement in effect since 2007 required then to change the tank venting. Tank cant work without venting which they had originally installed in 1991 free of charge. I was informed at that time it would cost me 180.00 dollars. Now Im really upset. I was told the venting belonged to me. REALLY. I had previously spoke to 3 different individuals and was never told of the venting code changes. I had a whole day to make other arrangements to have the vent installed prior to reliance tecks arrival. I went to home depot and priced the vent material. (50.00 dollars tax in) On a scale of 1-10 difficulty to install....2. The tecks finished up their job (1 hr) and left. I then called reliance and was referred to Nancy in customer resolutions. She knew immediately about the TSSA code requirement referring me to the web site. She was apologetic for not being told that the venting belonged to the home owner and of the code change. She would look into it and call me back. The next day I received a voice message and GUESS WHAT, the 180.00 charge stands. Once again...very sorry. So the battle will continue. The 180.00 dollar charge is a blatant cash grab. Might be time to GO PUBLIC.

    Electric air cleaner check

MATT COULOMBE DAA3678 was an excellent service tech. He came in and advised a clear understanding of what would have been required for repairs. He also did the required inspection of the furnace that the call center did not advise would possibly be required.

    Water heater

Your services is very poor. I called for service because my water heater is giving on and off water heating. Your technician will arrive and they will look for few minutes. My water heater tank is saying "low Ignition Current" that is why it is not igniting to initiate flames on the burner and the manual say "when this happen time to replace igniter". 4 technician already went to my home and they are all lazy to replace the igniter. Now I have to call again and again. Please, tell your lazy service crew to replace that freaking igniter that the machine display is telling.

    needed a new water tank

I had a major issue with my heating system and my hot water tank. Dave Employee Number DAA4271 - went well out of his way to help me. He put me in contact with a plumber immediately, gave me his personal cell phone number so i could call when the plumbing was repaired and then got my new hot water tank installed for me immediately after the plumber finished his work. I would just like to say that this man provided exceptional service. He is a Keeper. thank you for hiring such caring employees. Additionally Steve and Brad #4249 came immediately after the plumber was finished repairing my pipe. Dave called workforce and had my hotwater tank replaced immediately. I was very grateful to Steve and Brad - they came right away, were very friendly and reassuring - I have to say I have had wonderful customer service. Thank you.
