    Hot water tank installation

Run from Reliance Home Comfort!! We hired this company to install a new hot water tank in our basement. The sales rep was very nice and assured us that the 'Reliance Guarantee' ensures that mats are laid down from front door to the installation area. Haha! Reliance wheeled their dolly with a heavy hot water tank on it clear across our basement bamboo flooring causing damage to a large portion of the floor. Replacement quote from our contractor was $7,000. Reliance offered us a 'goodwill' amount of $1,000 and noted that it is their view that the damage to our floor was not caused by Reliance. Oh yay - super customer service Reliance!! LIke I just made it up, right? Not only that, they installed the exhaust piping too close to our cold air intake vent and could have killed our whole family with carbon monoxide poisoning had another contractor we had on site not notified us to call Reliance right away and have this corrected! Consumer beware this company….hire someone else!! I'm off to see my lawyer!

    Water Heater Adjustment and Cleaning

I had a very professional young man named Ivan come to look at my water heater, adjust and clean it. The service was prompt, he was very polite and well knowledgeable. He came into my house with slippers for his shoes as to not dirty my home. He answered all of my questions. I highly recommend this service.

Furnace, AC, Air Purifier, Steam Humidifier

While we initially rated this company as a 10, issues have surfaced which have led us to reduce the rating to a more appropriate 0. We want to warn other consumers about the experience we had. Essentially Reliance has charged us for certain upgraded equipment but installed lower end equipment. They also won't provide us with a proper invoice which actually (a) lists the equipment that was installed or (b) lists the equipment ordered and paid for (usually that’s the same thing, but not with this Reliance). They spend all their money advertising and nothing on customer service nor fixing issues. While they acknowledged this issue, they won't do anything about it and we have been chasing them for months getting nowhere. I figure they would just fix it if it was an honest mistake but the whole experience seems rotten to me so my advice to you is "buyer beware". To this date, the issue has been escalated to the regional managers, etc. and we still don’t have: the rebates we were promised (well over thousand dollars), an accurate invoice detailing what we had installed (or ordered), nor the equipment that they promised us in writing. Initially, when we ordered the equipment we were told by our rep "not to worry" about the fact that the wrong equipment was on the invoice he printed out. According to him, the invoices were only able to accommodate certain "pre-populated" bundles. We were advised that Reliance would handle details for various manufacturers' rebates. He agreed to send me an email covering the actual equipment we ordered (and to this day that is the only evidence we have as they have refused to provide the proper invoice showing the proper equipment, serial numbers, model numbers, taxes, etc.). Just seems very suspicious that a company would do that AND that is followed by the wrong equipment being installed. Of course, they don't install "better" then you pay for "by mistake", they install "lower" than you pay for. Two of the 4 things they installed were lower priced models than what we agreed to via the email and what the price was based on. You also cannot register your warranty without the right paperwork – which they still haven't provided us - and we have found no evidence of the rebates they promised us. They won't even confirm anything. They also promised to perform a full "load test" prior to installing any equipment to ensure that the right size was installed. Inexplicably, they tried to "double talk" their way into getting us to agree to a cheaper unit at one point (without reducing the price) well after the deal was done. We are going to be filing our court papers this week to force the issue to be corrected. Unless you are an expert and can figure out the model they are installing (on the AC unit, for example, the model number is not clear), can figure out what kind of condensing unit they hide in your furnace, etc. I would be careful dealing with this company. You shouldn't trust an outfit that won't give you a proper invoice. We couldn't imagine that a company like this can do the things it does – but if we didn't have the email detailing what Reliance agreed to, we would be totally out of luck. And there would be no proof. You cannot take Reliance's word as it is meaningless – and they certainly won't do anything to help once they have your money. Reliance – either end your shenanigans and treat people fairly or fix your "mistakes".

    new furnace, a/c & humidifer

Scott our advisor was very helpful in determining our needs and explaining purchase options. He also arranged the installation for the next business day. Dan and Sean completed the installation in about 5 hours. They were efficient and left our property clean. They also explained basic details we needed to know about the equipment. We would highly recommend Reliance based on our experience.

    Hot Water Tank Replacement

Our hot water tank that was the orginal to the home 40+ years broke. I called Reliance first thing in the morning and they took my information and said they could have someone out to the house in the afternoon Matthew P (RCH1813) was here shortly after 1pm and completely installed and removed the old tank. Very polite young man, he even cleaned up the water that had leaked on to the floor. By 2:40pm the work was done and we now have HOT WATER again Thank Reliance

    Furnace repair

On April 1/15 my furnace stopped working and we called Reliance as we pay monthly for a heating and cooling protection plan as well as water heater rental. The first service rep arrived, was very nice, and said we needed a new blower motor and ordered one. He said it would arrive at our door on Thursday and we were to call in again to have it installed which we did. I have not had heat for 1 day. A different service rep, Greg L, installed the blower and complained that my Lennox HE furnace was getting old. (18 years). He complained about my clay line chimney for their water heater and wrote up a violation notice and gave me 49 days to fix it. The chimney did not leak. He said that my exhaust vent for my furnace was no longer compliant and wrote up another violation and turned my gas off and said too bad. This was on the Thursday before Good Friday at 5:00pm and it is going below zero and I have not heat. He said Reliance would send a quote on Monday for repairs and left. I called another service company for a second opinion and they arrived within 2 hours. He said that technically the vents should be updated but said the system was working fine with no leaks. He gave me 49 days to fix the furnace vent and turned my heat on. He said that they would quote the repairs on Monday which they did. They completed the repairs on Thursday. I never received a quote from Reliance and I have never been treated with such arrogance. Reliance would have left me without heat for the Easter weekend. I gave myself a cooling off period of a few weeks before writing this.
