We needed a 2nd floor bedroom addition fairly quickly due to baby #2 on the way. We met a number of contractors - John gave us a ton of information right away and was the only one to give us a list of references from every single client they've worked for over the past few years. The work started on time, and our foreman, Jim was AMAZING. He is professional, knowledgeable and a perfectionist. His attention to detail is like no other. He didn't consider the job finished until every single detail was perfect. Overall, considering I was at home dealing with a newborn and a major renovation, it didn't feel intrusive at all. The guys onsite were all very professional, safe, quiet, and detail-oriented. They left the site spotless everyday. Not only did the project come in on budget but any concerns I had were always dealt with immediately and I always felt confident in the work being done. Thank you John, Carl, Hans, and especially Jim for ensuring our reno went smoothly. We can't say enough good things about our experience with Oborne. We are so happy with the addition and would use Oborne again for any future projects.

I have had an amazing experience with Oborne Contracting. John Oborne was patient and thorough in explaining the contract details as we planned the project. He was a pleasure to work with, and he helped me with some of the planning decisions I had to make. I loved how detailed the contract was which helped me to make decisions about what to do and not do. The project lasted four months, and I continued to work in the upstairs of my home while the renovation continued downstairs. I had braced myself for a tedious time, but the professionalism of the crew made this as pleasant an experience as one could expect for a renovation. Dean and his crew were fantastic. They were all professional and hard working, attending to details I might not have noticed. Despite the changes in the plans along the way, they finished on time. They also had incredibly high standards – which was a delight compared to my prior experiences with people who worked on my house. Carl worked so hard throughout the project, and always with a light-hearted attitude and patience – even in the cold. Kent helped me with the paint and always had a corny joke to tell which lightened the stress of watching the demolition part of the job. Dean – I want to thank most of all for his kindness, patience and professionalism. He helped me when I had trouble with my architect; he was always patient explaining things and had a profound sense of professionalism in his work. I could not have asked for a better experience and the results are fantastic. I love my new home! I cannot recommend Oborne Contracting highly enough. Thank you to each of you who helped renovate my home.

Wow, Oborne Contracting saved my bacon! A new countertop and sink ready to be installed, but the old one was adhered with construction adhesive and the screws were inverted, oh and did I mention that the stainless steel back splash had to remain intact. A classic recipe for disaster. I hustled through the list of HomeStars contractors, John at Oborne sent Jeff the next morning, punctual, pleasant and delightfully optimistic that it could be done. After 20 man hours it was complete, and unbelievable neat and back on track.

Thank you so much John & Colin for another first class job on our home show booth! We have been using this booth for many shows now and you're design and set up and break down make it so easy for us to look great. The walls are solid yet portable. I have been working with John for the last 12 plus years, so when I needed work done at my own house I knew who to call. Ken and Colin where a pleasure to deal with and answered all my questions and concerns. I had them open the wall between my kitchen and family room to create a more open concept. The work looks great and I get nothing but compliments. Thanks again

We were very pleased with the results of our project. We gutted the existing bathroom, including the removal of a linen cupboard and converted a bathtub into a walk-in shower. The Oborne team were very reliable, punctual, polite and did a good job keeping the workspace clean. They did a great job with the tiling, making an extra effort to ensure the patterns flowed well across the wall and in the shower. The job did take longer than estimated, but the results were worth the wait.

The bathroom was a disaster... floor ceramic tiles not glued down, grout popping out, cold in winter, plaster damage on ceiling... just a mess. John Oborne's team (Colin Murray and Troy Ellis) tackled the problems. They drilled out the 3 inches of concrete under the tiles, and installed a beautiful cork floor. They determined that a faulty fan install was the cause of the water damage, replaced the fan, insulated it, and vented it properly thru the roof. The finishing touch was a beautiful trim, plaster, and paint job that exceeded all expectations. In addition, Colin determined that my toilet was not properly installed (hence the slight rocking problem) and corrected that issue as well. The guys were terrific and the bathroom is beautiful. Oborne Contracting did a fantastic job with our kitchen. They lowered the cabinets to a more convenient height, constructed filler to bridge the resulting gap, and put in a new hood. They took great care with all of the finishes, and left the work site very clean each day. The job was done quickly and at reasonable rates for time and materials. Communication was fast and professional. Thanks John, Vito, Jeff, Yasser, and Ryan for your work.

We had our kitchen and bath completely gutted including taking down 1 1/2 walls and new stairs built in the living room. We also had the laundry area in the basement completely finished as well as a new railing/picket built on the front porch. We lived in during the entire 4 months of reno and had complete peace of mind throughout the entire renovation process thanks to John and everyone at Oborne including Colin (Foreman), Dean, Damien, Wally & other crew members. They were exceptional and so amazing to work with! They are 100% professional, courteous, and was always approachable and open to new ideas/changes. Any additional trades that were brought in also did a great job and John & his team ensured that the work was done right! Whenever something came up that wasn't planned/anticipated (which happens with any reno), they were quick to fix the problem and was always willing to work with us to find a solution. Often they went above and beyond what was quoted. Unlike many reno horror stories that we have heard of, they were right on time & on budget which is something we truly appreciate! Aside from the great service, the quality and workmanship was exceptional! We are very picky and pay attention to all details but they met and exceeded our expectations. From the preparation stage to protect the property, to demolition, construction, to the finishing details, they always ensured that we were happy with the results. At the end of each day, they always ensured the place was cleaned up and properly protected. Overall, we are extremely happy with the results and thank them for all their hard work in helping us transform our house into a beautiful new home. We have and will continue to highly recommend Oborne Contracting to people looking to have renos done! THANK YOU OBORNE!!!
