    Bathroom Renovation

    John came to my house to consult on a water spot on the ceiling underneath the master bathroom. He was extremely thorough and helpful. He spent a lot of time assessing the situation and gave me detailed instructions to test and diagnose where the leak was coming from. It too a long time to determine the source of the water. I never felt any pressure and felt he had my best interests in mind. The quotes were very detailed and provided options, which I appreciated. The crew was professional, polite and punctual, explaining their work thoroughly. Their dedication to a clean workspace was also impressive, minimizing dust & garbage and ensuring the house remained livable despite the work being done. Overall, a great experience; they delivered a professional yet caring service throughout. I certainly recommend their services.

    Consulting on bathroom renovation

    John came to our house to consult on our bathroom renovation project. He was extremely thorough and helpful. He spent a long time answering all our questions and gave us lots of guidance since we are new to renovating. We never felt any pressure and had the sense he had our best interests in mind. In the end, we choose another contractor (whom he actually recommended), but we were so happy that we had chosen him to give us a quote as he set us on an well-informed path. Also, we were thoroughly impressed with his integrity, and we're certain that he cares a lot about his workmanship and his clients.

    Structural Work & Exterior Repairs

    Exceptional service! We worked with Oborne Contracting to correct structural & other miscellaneous issues made by a previous contractor during a whole home renovation, and their expertise was very apparent. John Oborne's initial site visit showed his professionalism & attention to detail as he quoted for our business. He not only took the time to explain (in detail) the work we wanted completed, but also walked our house showing us areas of concern he thought we should address. But at no time did we ever feel pressured, we felt (and continue to feel) that John truly wanted the best outcomes for us. Oborne also provided a detailed welcome package (and long list of references) so we could get to know the company & their policies before signing. And after completing many reference checks we felt very confident signing with John and team As work began we were very impressed by the quality of the work & the team. The work quotes were precise, detailed, and they delivered in line to the initial scope of work (we actually contracted for additional work to be done while they were on site given the great experience we were having.) Communication was top-notch; they laid out clear timelines and were always available for any questions. The crew was professional, incredibly polite and punctual, explaining their work thoroughly. Despite having work completed over a three week period we never felt out of place in our own home! The team made for a very relaxed experience. Their dedication to a clean workspace was also impressive, minimizing dust & garbage and ensuring our home remained livable despite the structural work being done. Overall, a fantastic experience; they prioritized our needs, delivering a professional yet caring service throughout. Highly recommended! And a special shout-out to Jeff, Yassir, Jordan, and Vito.     Basement transformation

    We recently hired Oborne Contracting to complete our basement, and overall, we are pleased with the results. We believe they did a very good job considering the complexities involved. The team at Oborne Contracting demonstrated professionalism throughout the entire process. They were responsive to our questions and concerns, and their communication was clear and timely. The project manager kept us informed about the progress and any unexpected issues that arose. The quality of the workmanship was commendable and the attention to detail is evident in the finishing touches The team made every effort to ensure that the completed space met our specifications and preferences. The project was completed within a reasonable timeframe, and the entire team was respectful of our home during the construction process. While no project is without its challenges, there were a few minor hiccups along the way, but the team addressed them promptly, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction. It's this dedication to resolving issues that made us happy we hired them. In terms of areas for improvement, there were a couple of instances where the timeline was slightly delayed. However, it's important to note that these delays were a result of unforeseen issues and our extra work requests not captured in the original scope of work and did not significantly impact the overall project.     The collaboration with Oborne Contracting has been an outstanding journey from the beginning to the end. Our initial connection with the company was facilitated by a strong recommendation from a dear friend. Upon our meeting with John, the company owner, we were thoroughly impressed by his extensive knowledge and experience in the construction field. John not only listened attentively to our ideas and needs but also contributed many of his own for transforming our space, this set him apart from others. His commitment to excellence was evident in his meticulous site documentation, reinforcing our confidence in the quality of his work. Despite exploring two other highly recommended online contractors, none provided the level of attention and dedication that John did. Although John's estimate was slightly higher than others, we were confident that the value he offered, along with the extra care and quality we desired, justified the investment. John suggested a Cost-Plus Contract to optimize costs, a decision we agreed upon before promptly hiring Oborne Contracting. We relied on Oborne Contracting to handle all the permit requirements and that went without a hitch. We also took advantage of the interior design and décor consultation services provided by Georgia Oborne Interiors, an essential component of the Oborne Contracting team. Georgia's charming demeanor and exceptional attention to detail went above and beyond our expectations. The synergy between John and Georgia played a pivotal role in streamlining the entire process, surpassing what we initially anticipated. Our main floor and primary bedroom and bathroom now exude a stunning aesthetic, making us feel like we're living in a home décor magazine every day.     superior service and outcome

    Great partner for our kitchen reno during a very busy time - helped us navigate design, demolition, build and finishing - navigated material delays/supply chain issues, labor scarcity and appliance selection. Highly available, responsive and service oriented. Final product was outstanding.

    Basement

    John and his team are terrific. There were two modest jobs to do in our basement. They assessed the jobs with precision and completed them with excellence. Communication and scheduling between us, the team leads and the trades was clear and comfortable. I found them to be a very professional organization.

    Consistently good work and good referrals.

    Oborne has been our first phone call for over a decade now, both for the big jobs that need a general contractor and for reliable referrals for trades on smaller jobs. Most recently, we asked for a referral for an electrician to install an EV charger, and their recommendation - Rehoboth Electrical Services - was great. Rehoboth gave us a reasonable estimate, showed up on time, worked safely, answered some questions I had, finished the one-day job in one day and left the job site clean, pretty much everything you want from a contractor. Working with Oborne and anyone they've referred us to are always kind, consistent, drama-free professionals, and it's quite reassuring to feel like that class of tradespeople are one email away.

    Bathroom Reno

    We were very pleased with the results of our project. We gutted the existing bathroom, including the removal of a linen cupboard and converted a bathtub into a walk-in shower. The Oborne team were very reliable, punctual, polite and did a good job keeping the workspace clean. They did a great job with the tiling, making an extra effort to ensure the patterns flowed well across the wall and in the shower. The job did take longer than estimated, but the results were worth the wait.

    I had the pleasure of engaging with John, the owner of Oborne Contracting, for construction consultation service on a second-floor reconfiguration project that would include 2 bathrooms in my home that I was considering. I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. First and foremost, John's knowledge of construction and renovation is outstanding he displayed a level of professionalism and expertise that helped me understand the costs involved, the process and the time requirements for the potential renovation.
