    Wildlife removal

    This is the third time I've used Gates Wildlife Control, and each time they have been professional, courteous, and complete. Unfortunately, squirrels are tenacious. Technician Josh Semeniuk has taken care of the job quickly and efficiently. I definitely recommend this company and all its technicians.

    Raccoon Proofing our Roof

    Reviews were great so we submitted an online request for a quote to check out our roof and make sure the "trash pandas" we've heard and seen up there lately didn't break into the attic or do any severe damage. The Gates team responded super fast and booked a nice early AM appointment ASAP to come check it out. Boris showed up a few minutes early (love when service folks are punctual) and was eager to help us sort out our raccoon issue. He did a very thorough inspection around our whole home and got up on the roof safely to check out the issues. Within minutes he gave us a great status report (the raccoons hadn't invaded but did do a bit of damage) and explained the vulnerabilities for real raccoon intrusion that he did discover on our roof. We suspected a few of them with an older home like ours. Their approach is really low-pressure and respectful. Boris walked us through all the options (showing us super helpful photos) and we came up with a plan to "raccoon proof" the risky parts of our roof where we saw evidence of their break-in attempts. He fixed up the damaged spots and did a really thorough and clean looking job on the protection. We thought Boris was fantastic and our cat did too!

    Goodbye Racoon see you NEVER

    Racoon with babies. They immediately fix our problem. Josh is so quick covering all the entry areas and gently get all the babies out Thank you Josh you are the BEST.

    A Visit by Mr. Gates

    I have hired this company three times, and I am very satisfied with the services. All the vent screens and repairs they did 4/5 years ago are still in good condition. Mr. Gates visited this morning and thoroughly checked the property. While he couldn't find any signs that would indicate intrusion of animals, he suggested that the noise I heard was probably from mice. He also recommended a self-help, economical way to solve the problem. He did not charge me a fee after spending 45 minutes investigating the problem. Not only am I impressed with the company's policy of no removal, no fee, I have high regard for their respect of animals, love for their job, courtesy, and efficiency. I'd recommend this company to everyone.

    Skunk's burrow against front wall: one -way -door

    Josh from Gates attended on time, in the rain and in good humour. He patiently, and carefully, listened to my concerns about the welfare of the skunk(s). In very tight quarters, adjacent to my neighbours' front porch, a rose bush, wrought-iron fence and sundry hidden concrete foundations, Josh dug a trench, to install a wire mesh barrier surrounding the burrow, and a one-way door over the burrow entrance. He cheerfully did this working in the rain, and very muddy conditions. He left instructions on monitoring the area surrounding the burrow entrance , to determine if infant skunks were already in the burrow, and directions to telephone immediately if any evidence of their presence appeared in the next 24 hours. I'm very happy with the service provided today by Josh, and by Gates Wildlife, over the past 20 years

    Raccoon - chimney

    AAA were able to provide me with an appointment right away (even on a long weekend). Josh, the onsite specialist was courteous, very knowledgeable and helpful. Would highly recommend their services.

    Screen installation for squirrel access denied.

    Called up Gates after dealing with a rival competitor. No charge for Gate's estimate. Was charged by the competitor $125 + HST for them to come out & do a site survey. Was told the fee would be removed if we would have their service techs perform the needed work. I was provided with two quotes, one for necessary work & on the same quotation sheet, recommended work. The quotes were 790.00 & 1300.00 (taxes included), respectively. I did not go ahead with the competitor's work. The competitor wanted to place screens on my metal (not tin) roof vents (which was the price included in the suggested quote for work). I called up Gates, was assured their quote was free, had the tech Justin come out & perform his site survey. The quote for the service call was $395 + HST. Justin indicated because our roof vent vents were in fact metal, there was no need to screen them. I had told them about the poor experience with the competitor, and he gave us a ten per cent discount in good faith in the go ahead of Gates performing the work . Justin had also used his squirrel calling device, outside my house, and had actually had one squirrel appear form a neighbor's yard. I was totally shocked, when the critter appeared. Justin had gone into my attic, looked around, use his calling device whilst in the attic, and there were no squirrels present. As for the work performed, he had placed a one way exit only cage, and a long piece of metal screening at the point of the squirrels having gained access in my attic roof. Also place a piece of wood along side the screening in case there may have been a nest in my attic (in case the parent squirrel returned and was not able to get to any possible nest inside, the wood would allow the squirrel to take frustrations out on the wood and not my house). There were none, and short while later, I observed a squirrel trying to access the attic. Justin returned a couple of days late to remove the exit cage, pull down the portion of the soffit where the squirrel had pushed up, and had placed the meshed screening to close off the point of access. By the way, all of the aforementioned post work was included in the price listed. All, when hiring these types of contractors, please ensure when you book appointment, with them make sure you ask at the time of the booking if they have their property liability insurance, and WSIB insurance. Be prepared to have the contractor show you a current & valid copy of their respective certificates, prior to commencement of any work .Because if they do not, and the contractor gets hurt on your property, you may be liable, for them getting hurt. It is important that you do your own due diligence, and ask lots of questions. And remember, if you are charged for a quotation for work find another contractor that gives out FREE QUOTES. I have already recommended Gates Wildlife to my neighbor who also has squirrels in his attic, but WILL NOT recommend the competitor. I have nothing but praise for Gates, & the service tech Justin.     Raccoon Problem

    We have had a raccoon problem recently and we were very worried about the costs associated with this job and hiring someone that will effectively take care of the problem. AAA Gates exceeded all of our expectations and were very professional and thorough. Chris Mueller was a joy to deal with and we are extremely satisfied with his level of service, knowledge , integrity and overall cost. I would definitely recommend AAA Gates to anyone dealing with any kind of wildlife control problem. Thank you.

    Humane Squirrel Removal from Attic/Prevention of Repeat

    Both wildlife technicians were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The first technician, Chris, efficiently discovered the entry area the squirrels had created by chewing a vent on the roof - and then repaired this area on the spot. He also took preventative measures so that the other (plastic) vents could not be compromised in future. He made sure to check out the attic, looking for any weather damage that could have been caused by the roof opening. A few days later, after leaving time for our furry guests to leave safely, the second technician, Justin, assessed that no guests (including babies) remained and then proceeded to remove the device (including a one-way door) they had attached to the exit in our roof. They then repaired that exit as good as new. The employees do not just pay lip service to owner Brad Gates' humane and win-win approach to wildlife removal -- they really do have extensive knowledge and interest in the welfare of the animals, and implement a professional construction fix that prevents future problems at a reasonable cost. There is really no need to contact anyone else for these problems -- this company has been around for 30+ years and I highly recommend them.

    Raccoon Removal

    I called Gates upon receiving a referral from another company. There customer service from the moment I called right through to completion of the job was excellent! They were able to assess my raccoon problem and fix it within 24hours of my phone call. When Josh showed up to my home he was very professional, honest, friendly and was prepared to tackle the problem onsite the very same day. The job was completed with in a short period of time and the alteration they had to do to the roof and vents was aesthetically pleasing. We had another company come in several years prior that made a mess of our flashing. Gates was able to fix this as well and it looked 100% better. I was assured we wouldn't have anymore problems and am happy to say we have no more raccoons living in our attic. I would definitely recommend this company and would use them again!
