This May, 2014, Andy and I requested Chris to remove a large bird’s nest in the dormer at the back of our house and to check another opening on the other side of the dormer where we suspected a raccoon or other animal had tried to enter. With prevention also in mind of this occurring in the future, we asked Chris to secure these opening and all vents and vulnerable areas that look so inviting to unwanted “guests”. Chris arrived on time, with all materials needed to complete these tasks. He told us ahead of time, what he planned to do and at each step of the process explained what he had just done and why. His attention to detail with the tasks at hand were all that he promised, but his care and concern for our home to also look aesthetically pleasing, including co-coordinating tile colour, was a level of personal professionalism that is rarely found in workmanship these days. Chris’ work will now stand the test of time, which is wonderful, but it also means that we will not have need of the opportunity to call on him again because his work is so thorough. If you are looking for that rare mixture of integrity, workmanship and care for your home – count yourself lucky if you are able to have Chris take on your animal problems. Irene

I was out of the country when my wife first heard our furry friends in the attic. I did my research and as soon as I got back I called Chris to come take a look at my raccoon issue. He was quick and to the point (in a good way) and knew of his action plan right away. He instilled confidence in me...I just let him get right to work. What he estimated is what he charged. He was prompt for both appointments and really easy to work with. Two added things. We discovered that our builder failed to install shingles on a small area of roof. Chris was up to the task of finishing that off and making it look perfect. Also, when he had to purchase a new roof vent, he could not find the exact match. Colour was fine, but the design was a little off. I couldn't tell. He told me it was important to him that he dig around and find the right one, so it matches the rest of the house. This was a such a small detail but he is a perfectionist. "Trust me, i'll be back." is what he said. About a month later, the door bell rang and there was Chris, smiling, holding up the roof vent. True to his word. Do not hesitate to call Chris. He is the first guy you should call for animal removal. Thanks Chris!

Based on my recent experience, I highly recommend A1 Animal Removal. Chris was a great guy to work with. He demonstrated his expertise in an efficient, tidy and very reasonably priced raccoon removal (mother and babies). He even followed up on site the next week to add some additional gravel to a hole near the removal site. Overall, I was very satisfied with his service.

Recently we had a racoon take up residence in our attic. We called several removal services but none would guarantee the work. On Homestars, we found Chris and he recognized the urgency of our situation and came promptly. He identified the entry points and took the time to go up into the attic, actually finding the animal in his "warm home". Chris professionally closed all entry points and created a one way door for the animal to leave. Chris returned to close the door after the animal left and his work has withstood the racoon's tries to return to the attic. Very professional, courteous and prompt. A great job! I called Chris after hearing something go bump in the night...actually it was a family of raccoons who decided to move into my attic for the winter! Chris responded immediately and installed a one way door so the raccoons could leave but not re-enter. After a week he came back and sealed up the spot. Chris also helped us with some roofing issues that we had been having. I would highly recommend A1 Animal Removal for their prompt and professional work.

Excellent service and response. i have had two occasions this year to have squirrels removed from a rental house. I called and within a day he had set up the trap for the squirrel. He removed the squirrel, repaired the damage to ensure no reentry and did not charge me until the job was complete. The second time I needed him, i thought that perhaps there had been a problem with the recently redone roof and asked him to check for me when he went up. He remembered, and when he let me know he had completed the work, he assured me that it was not the roofing but a hole in the board below that had allowed entry. Very reliable and honest.

Chris was helpful in getting rid of a squirrel issue in the roof and patching a hole in the side of the house used by birds to hang out in the spring. Very prompt and courteous. thanks chris, will call you in the future, hopefully wont need you!

in 2009 (yes, three years ago), Chris laid up the squirrel elevator after the'd come through a neglected/failed power roof vent and set up house. Whole family. Made a mess. Chris was on time, nice and tidy, great job, not a peep from a critter since then. Rather than just pop in a new power vent and call it a day, he urged me to consider a honkin' big mesh BOX over this vent. Big I-dunno-what-gauge wire, fashioned into a cage-shaped contraption and screwed into the roof over the vent. That'll do 'er. Well, we're a few years on now, and my son just told me he's hearing things *upstairs*. We don't have an "upstairs" if you know what I mean. Are they back? Standby until morning..... Post-storm UPDATE: got up there before the rain and wind, cleaned out the gutters, and had a look-see at Chris' work - still going strong. So, if we've got critters, they got in some other way. And, if we've got critters, I'm calling Chris again!

We heard noises coming from above the ceiling between the second and third floors. We called A Animal Removal and set up an appointment with Chris. He and Rick arrived punctually, scrambled up to the roof, located the problem area and dealt with it. Chris was very informative, professional and forthright. He also screened off our third floor deck beneath which squirrels were trying to squat. This took place a week ago. So far so good....
