    Fridge, stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher

We have bought all of our appliances from Caplan's for over twenty years. They're a family run business, down to earth and honest. I would recommend them to all my friends. Great selection, competitive prices.

    appliances

We bought all of our new kitchen appliances through Caplans on our kitchen reno. They were very competitive with price. We got a full cookware set as well. We felt they wanted our business and did a deal that made us quite happy. It's was a big part of our kitchen budget and their help was much appreciated.

    Washing Machine Purchase

Bought a Maytag washing machine from Caplans. After 5 months deafening roar developed during the spin cycle. Maytag repair told us it was a major repair and the machine was defective. Caplans were utterly unhelpful insisting it wasn't their problem. They were happy however to keep the $150 extended warranty I bought from them. The machine didn't make it through 5 months never mind 5 years. Apparently Caplans service stops when they cash your check. Go to their website. They have a very funny credo about superior customer service and pride in their blah blah blah. Buyer beware!

A lemon GE Stainless Steel Oven

Nancy at Caplan Appliances sold me an oven that isn't working. I've been without a stove for 1.5 weeks now and I have had to start making angry calls to get any response so that we can either get our $1100 back or get them to provide us something to cook with so that we're not spending more money on restaurants. When I called customer service, Liz suggested that I should consider buying a 4 year extended warranty! They hadn't even fixed what we had originally paid them for!!! They have at least 2 identical models sitting in their inventory, but I have to take a day off work to wait for a repairman! DON'T SHOP HERE!!!

Poor Customer Service - Bosch Built-in Fridge arrived damaged

We purchased a Bosch Built-in Fridge (along with other appliances) from Caplan's and it was delivered in October of 2012. Unfortunately, the right door arrived scratched, dented and misaligned and upon the advice of the delivery crew, we did not accept delivery. Caplan's called us and said that they would replace the panel and repair the alignment issue, so we agreed to accept the fridge. Our sales rep emailed me on Oct 4th "Yes the panel is on order and as soon as it arrives we will follow up with replacement and final adjustments." We do not hear from Caplan’s and I complain to our kitchen designer. We finally get a serviceman to the house in February to assess the issue. They will order the part if we agree to a charge of $1019.29. I contact Caplan's Customer Service Manager, Liz, and remind her that they had agreed to this repair. On Feb 12, she states, “We have ordered a new door it will take 2-4 weeks." I contact customer service in mid March to ascertain the status. Liz states, “We did receive the door but it was damaged and was refused. I am waiting for the new door to arrive and hope to see it soon.” Finally, the serviceman calls to arrange the repair. They come to the house April 10th with the wrong door! So once again, I contact customer service and am offered $75 instead of the repair. I decline. I am assured the part is on order. Time passes and I get an email asking the model number. Time passes, they have decided not to order the part, but apparently will send some guy named Steve who removes scratches and dents. He apparently can make a fridge that say fell off a truck look good as new. We have declined this option and will take it up with Bosch. Be wary when dealing with this company.

    Washer and Dryer

My washer konked out the Saturday before Christmas. While the problem was likely a lid switch or pump, the appliances were a dozen years old and had come with house. It was a simple decision to get a new set. Had bought a dishwasher from Caplans' in the fall and really liked the service so figured I would go back. As it turned out Caplan's was closed between Dec 23 until Jan 2nd for the holiday - kudos to them for putting family ahead of commercialism. That gave me lots of time to research models and check boxing day sales from other retailers. It was a bit of risk waiting for Caplan's when all these great boxing day sales were going on, but I figured their service would be worth the wait. On Jan 2nd I went down to Caplan's and bought a new set with help from Paul. Got the set, a complimentary iron, free delivery and only had to pay $60 for installation. Prices were as good as any other boxing day sales. The bonus came at delivery time when it turned out my laundry taps were seized and the guys couldn't hook up the washer. No problem - after I got the plumbing fixed they squeezed me in a few days later no extra charge do the istall and hauling away the old appliances. You're not going to get that kind of service from a big box store! So far, so good, I can't complain about Caplan's.

    appliances

Don't hesitate to purchase appliances at the Weston location. Great staff - exceptional delivery. The two guys are fantastic. Deliver on time and very careful bringing product into house. Also, give them a call to see if they will match your price from another dealer - you may be pleasantly surprised.
