Replace defective taps and reinstall bathroom sink

After installing a set of taps and sink in my bathroom I had leaks in the taps which I could not resove. Jeff removed & reinstalled the sink and discovered the taps to be defective. I then purchased new Moen taps and Jeff installed them no leaks!!! He was here for about three hours and I was charged $838.00 which I felt was a bit steep but it was quoted as two flat rate charges which I ageed to.

    Children's toy in toilet

My little boy flushed a toy down the toilet. We called Drainworks. They provided estimate upfront before work was completed and said $160 to $260 depending on effort. They removed the toy, toilet now flushes, nice guys....but the cost is outrageous. Wish I called a local plumber for far less. Was billed $280 for 2 guys to remove my toilet and fish out a toy - total time spent in my house was under 1 hour...$280 per hour equates to an annual salary of $560,000 per year.

    Answer from pro:

Steve. It is important to first off mention the actual service provided at your home, as more took place then indicated in your review. We attempted an auger of the 2nd floor toilet to no avail, so we proceeded to remove the toilet in order to remove the toy airplane. We then reinstalled the toilet with all the necessary parts and in addition we cleaned the toilet jets of calcium build-up. We cleaned up the area and tested to make sure the toilet was in good working order. All of these services totalled $265, not $280. Furthermore, we provided pricing upfront and proceeded after receiving your consent. What is the alternative? We provide pricing, receive your consent and assume you aren’t being honest and leave? It is also important to note that the pricing provided is not an hourly charge, it is an exact price, so whether we send 1 or 2 technicians to your home, and whether the service takes 1 or 2 hours, you are paying the same price quoted and agreed to before we begin. The DrainWorks difference is that you reap the benefits of getting the job done quicker for the same cost that someone else may have taken longer to complete. You have used our services before, so we can only presume that you continue to choose DrainWorks as your local plumber because you are happy with the service we provide.

    Plumbing Repair

We had a leak from our upstairs bathroom. Drainworks plumber Jeff was early for the appointment and explained our options for repair. He had all required equipment to do the repair and finished on time. Would highly recommend.

Water Line Upgrade to Fix Low Water Flow/Pressure

I needed a plumber to quickly assess and upgrade the water line coming into my home. Drainworks was there within a couple hours, giving a reasonable estimate and more importantly, recommending a service (hydro boring) that would be a less intrusive option. Nice touch given that everyone else was ready to plow ahead with torpedoing a line through. Drainworks co-ordinated their work with the city, whose workers were on-site upgrading the city line. And finally, I was pleased that a Drainworks representative came by to walk me through the bill and check the job. In short, they were fabulous.

Leak diagnosis and utility sink installation

I had Drainworks come to diagnose a ceiling leak and install a utility sink. After telling me that they wouldn't be able to see me until a week later, the dispatcher called back to tell me they could fit me in that afternoon. The service tech (Chris) was on time, courteous, professional, and forthright (he correctly diagnosed a leak that was due to an improper tub seal, and told me how to caulk it, rather than overcharging me to do it himself). The utility tub installation was very well done - Chris bolted the unit to the floor in order to ensure that it would remain solid. Drainworks is perhaps not the cheapest around, but their honesty and professionalism make them good value for the money.

Blocked drain - remove tree roots, replace pipe

Great job from start to finish. Very professional and competent staff. Quick response to my call, carefully explaining problem and possible solutions, and returning next day to finish. Clean up was good; you can't even tell they were there. This is after a 7' hole in front yard. Highly recommended.

    Blocked kitchen drain

The service was great. An estimate was provided in advance, the call centre staff were well organized and courteous; two phone calls were made to me to confirm the time of the appointment since I had a way to travel from work to meet the technician; there was no financial penalty for working in the early evening; the technician protected and kept the kitchen clean during the work; he gave good advice and restricted his comments to matters about which he had knowledge; important details of discussion were put in writing. To top it off, the source of the blocked drain ended up being some roots which extended the job longer than expected. And again no penalty and the technician was not bitter! The snake got clogged with the roots and I expected profanities and a financial penalty - didn't happen. In my 56 years, this is my first positive story about plumbers or plumbing technicians.

    Bathroom Shower Tap Leak

I've had good experiences with the plumbers from Drainworks in the several times I've had them come to my house for a repair. They tell you exactly what to expect in terms of price and what the job or work consists of. They do their work efficiently and thoroughly. I would definitely reccommend them.
