Backed up sewer due to tree root growth in the waste pipe.

I had a problem with the sewer backing up when I first purchased the house. I called a few plumbers and the only ones that could come out immediately were drainworks. The gentlement that work for this company are competent and professional. The work was completed in a timely matter. They walked me through exactly what will happen and the costs involved. There were no hidden costs. This is the second time I have used the company and I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Replacing leaking pipe & installing new shut-off valve

I was feeling a little panicky when I discovered a pipe in my basement was leaking and in half a day the drips almost filled a pail. On trying the yellow pages, DrainWorks was the first human response that I received, and the receptionist was so courteous and helpful that I immediately felt half my problems were over. The plumber, Philip Burns, arrived later that day at the specified time, and took great care to explain exactly what needed to be done and to offer his advice based on knowledge and experience. As far as I can tell, he did an excellent job and I feel satisfied.

    Bathroom drainage challenges

Our bathtub backed up and I was really worried that our one and only bathroom was going to be out of commission for a while. I called DrainWorks and was thrilled that they could send someone out within a few hours. Jeremy H. came and investigated. He thoroughly explained the problem and the repair process and within a very short time, the drain was cleared. He even cleaned up the mess that the backup left in the tub. We will definitely use DrainWorks again.

Bathroom faucet, laundry faucet, outdoor faucet

Big, friendly Jeff came and fixed problems I had and one I didn't know about. My husband was home and agreed to pay the cost for the replacement of the two faucets. He was surprised by the estimate but agreed to it. Jeff explained since I had purchased the faucets myself, the warranty only applied to labour which was fine with me. A previous plumber had just about doubled the cost of a fixture that they had supplied and installed and I was not happy to find that product in [competitor name removed--Ed] at a substantially lower cost. Jeff also costed out replacing the drain in the bathroom sink before he did the work because he anticipated a problem with it due to age and showed us how corroded it was. The outdoor tap and shut off valve was a tricky operation for him to do because of space constraints. He advised on that to upgrade the pressure to the house needed to be started with City Hall or it would be a useless upgrade. He explained and wrote out the instructions for the garden shut off valve clearly and I appreciate that its in writing. I wish I had time to pick his brain about other drain/pumbing issues but there were other contractors in the home and I was distracted. He installed the laundry faucet the way it was done previously although the fixture said it had to be drilled into the concrete wall (it was more difficult for him to do it the way I wanted it). My husband didn't like the amount he had to pay for this work but he can't do it himself. Jeff also gave me tips on the fancy shmancy single faucet replacement upkeep. Very pleased with his work. Also, he removed the old fixtures and returned my sprayer attachment when I called Drainworks. Very pleased with the work done. Thanks Jeff

    Kitchen Faucet replacement

Jeff from Drainworks came exactly on time and replaced our kitchen faucet which was dripping and difficult to turn off. At my husbands request he also removed an instant hot water box which was located underneath the sink. Jeff stated that the turn off valve was iffy for the hot water box and that he might have to also remove the faucet as well if it leaked. The box was removed and everything seemed ok. The next day I found the laundry room floor soaking wet as a result of a leak from the turn off valve. My husband stopped the leak by turning the valve tighter. It was disappointing that it had not been checked more carefully. We also had a problem with the taste of the water from the new tap. It tasted metallic and only after two calls to drainworks did we get advice to run the tap for a time to clear things up.

    Answer from pro:

**Thanks CSB** We value your input, but we are not too sure what was disappointing. Your Husband requested for Jeff to remove the instant hot box and Jeff made your husband aware that the shut off valve for it was iffy, your husband still wanted to proceed, therefore accepting the risk involved in using said iffy shut off valve. Also we should note, Jeff did this work as a courtesy at no charge. It is not that our work was not carefully checked at completion as you stated, but rather there was no leak present when the work was tested at completion, your husband was on site during this test. The alternative would have been to charge you to repair something that was not leaking. That hardly seems fair. It is true that you called in regarding the metallic taste in the water, and you were made aware to give it a few days of use to dissipate or we could send Jeff back over to assess. You opted to wait. The next day you called with the same metallic taste issue and were informed to quicken the process by running the water. We just wanted to take this opportunity to clear up any confusion regarding the service you received and also to make it known that the instant hot box was removed at no charge as a courtesy.

    replacing sewage pipes

sewage was backing up and "water" was coming up the drains in the basement. Somebody came (with a camera) and suggested the problem was at the base of the stack and we should dig there and replace part of the stack, etc. $3,000. Strange thing was that the water was backing up downstream from the stack!! Somebody else snaked it and we got partial results, but needed a permanent solution. Friends recommended Drainworks. Mike Dunn and his team came and took the time to really investigate what was going on. They guide me through their investigation, showed me what the problem was on the camera (tree roots) and where (outside the house!). He gave me an estimate, and after I tried to get other estimates, I called him and contracted the work. Mike and his team were very carefull when they got in the house, protecting floors, & doors when they put equipment inside the house. They also helped me with the application for the city grant, told me when to call the city inspector ... unbelievable. The work was done as agreed, when it was agreed, and it costed me what they told me it was going to cost me. Excellent service
