This past May we hired a company called Hickory Dickory Decks to build our deck. The cost was nearly $10 000 for a relatively small deck, but it was a cost we were willing to pay knowing that this was a large company with many franchises and therefore we would be guaranteed that we would receive a quality product and quality service. Well, this did not turn out to be the case. Everything that we were trying to avoid with some random contractor is what we received. It took nearly 2 months for our deck to be completed from start to finish. In this two month period dozens of phone calls had to be made to head office to even get the job done. In the end, when the job was finally 'complete' the quality is far from what we paid for: large gaps between some boards, the trim boards not even being close to meeting up in the corners, screw holes that have no screws, cracks in a couple boards, etc. Due to the conflict with the contractor over the delays and work, we were met with verbal abuse and threats. When we complained about contract items not being met, extra charges for items, and double-charges for dump fees; we were told "well take me to small claims court". The company owner would not step in to resolve the issues; claimed that "he's not responsible for the behaviour of franchise owners"

Ellen and Scott are amazing to work with and we have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone considering building a deck. You will be part of each step of the process and consulted if changes need to be made. You will be part of the design process right from the start. Computer generated designs based on your ideas are developed for you with no charge if you decide to not go ahead with the project. Prices for your deck design in wood, cedar or composite are provided before you decide. There is no sales pressure from this couple. The workmanship on our composite deck and pavilion is excellent. Scott is a true master with composite wood. Ellen has excellent design sense and is very helpful when making design choices. Each day the work site was cleaned so that we never had a messy back yard to deal with during construction. The couple works only on your project until it is completed. We are thrilled with the result and look forward to enjoying it for the next 25 years which is what the composite warranty guarantees.

We love our new deck! The craftsmanship is wonderful and we look forward to enjoying it for years to come. Kevin did an amazing job with my deck. He and Dave build decks as if they were building it for themselves. They are perfectionists as proven by the final product. Steve Hall's initial approach was the reason why we hired this deck company, he was the only one who did a professional drawing and quotation. That gave us assurance. The deck turned out great, and we appreciated his insights as well seeing as we weren't certain what to choose at times.

Second home Kevin and his crew have built a deck and pergola for me. Again they did a fantastic job. we're super happy with all the work they did for us. Would recommend him in a heartbeat.

This is our 2nd time using Hickory Dickory decks. Clarke was very client-focused and kept us well-informed. When we ran into a glitch with the shipment of some materials, Clarke did all that he could to get the materials as soon as possible. The workers themselves were polite, kept our yard clean during construction, and genuinely wanted to build a product that we would love. I would strongly recommend Clarke and his team for any deck project you may be considering.

this year we planned and started are long awaited deck , We found the company Hickory Dickory Deck and contacted Bob Robertson. Bob helped us through are planning stages and lead us in the right direction working with us to get all that we wanted. His install team Richard and Ian where fabulous to work with and made us a deck with workmanship that we are so proud to show. This was a large 650 square foot deck made of veka pvc material it looks amazing and I,m sure will give us a lifetime of enjoyment. Thanks to Bob and his team and all there help,
