We had a water pipe burst in our crawl space. When the plumber came he said there were a few leaks (5) and would cost approx $600 to fix. He was at my house for a maximum of 2 1/2 hours.. this includes investigating problem, working on the pipe and writing the receipt. After he fixed it he said that it would cost me $1000 and it would cost more but he was giving me a "deal". Going onto their website it said that they will quote before they do the work and not go over. He failed to do that. On top of that he worked a maximum of 2 hours on the pipes.. I am not sure why it should cost $500/hour?? I feel ripped off from this experience. When we called about the price they would not lower it.. they seem to think its justified to charge that much. They also refuse to honor their own promise of up front pricing: "Up-Front Pricing: Know the price before we begin, no matter how long it takes you'll still pay the same". This did not happen! They increased the price after they finished the project. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with their business practices. This seems to be a company ready to take advantage of people whenever it suits them. I gave them a 1 because they did fix our pipe, however at $500/hour wouldn't you expect the same??

We've had to call in J&S on numerous occasions and they've delivered every time! Other companies have left us high and dry (especially with the water heater), but J&S managed to find a reasonable solution for our renovations. They can be a little pricey, but they always provide quality work with professionalism to match.

I hired J&S after receiving a quote from Mike, he wasn't the cheapest but during the consultation he recommended redoing some of the old pipes as they were almost 60 years old. He made suggestions that made sense. J&S started by adding a brand new bathroom in the basement. Wow it turned out beautiful, then he started gutting the existing washroom by taking it down to the studs and building it up from there. Once again he delivered what he had promised, we are so happy with the final results. Mike delivered what he promised and within budget. J&S also added a laundry tub to my basement which has come in very handy.

Our kitchen water was filled with rust or some other brown precipitate. J&S plumbing services have fixed our water system and put a filter on is so this wont happen again. I am very satisfied with the service and would recommend it to anyone who needs plumbing services.

Way too expensive for job that was done. I needed it done immediately and so I just paid it. When you're stuck they soak you! Never again would I call this company! They fixed leak but it were wayyyyy too expensive for the simple job that it was. I got them from the internet and didn't go to a site like this where you can read the reviews. The bad reviews here are very accurate and similar to my experience.

Plumbing replacement requested by Allstate Insurance (Ugh!!). Ryan from J & S was punctual, professional - completed the job in the time promised and, I thought, at a reasonable price. Guess who we'll be calling next time.

The guy left approx 2 hrs ago, and Im still steaming. Simple removal of the old and installation of the new that I provided. Supply line hook ups were compatible. They will not quote on the phone and they insist that the service man will quote when they arrive and the price is guaranteed. The guy brinbgs out a book of standard charges..I bit the bullet because I needed it done. he was finished in 40 mins. Did not lay plumbers putty under the unit, and he claims he couldnt tighten it all the way down as he would have stripped the locking nuts on the underside. I asked how much to instal a new toilet same price...200 bucks plus all the other crap. Their price points speaks volumes exactly what this company is all about...shaft the vulernable.

They came to unblock a kitchen sink. Unfortunately the snake that they used got stuck in the walls within the basement ceiling. They had to cut 4 -5 holes in the basement to locate their stuck equipment to remove it. Costly experience for me.

Extremely expensive I had a small repair done and ended up with a bill for $800. The work was completed by two guys, mostly one did the work while the other watched. There would have been a house call charge but it was included in any work they did. Since I didn't want to call another plumber and pay another service call, I agreed to let them do the work. So expensive for about a half hour job. I got their name from the phone book and in their advertising it was indicated that this company had been one of the service companies used in a home Reno show. I considered that to be a good review so I called them when I needed a plumber. Never again! Too expensive!

I called J&S plumbing when we noticed a leak on our living room ceiling (there is a bathroom directly above). They answered right away (it was after hours) and scheduled an appointment for the next day (we didnt need it as an emergency). The plumbers came on time, neatly dressed, and were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Work was completed and tested before they left. We have also used them for our furnance cleaning. This is an excellent company. Price may be higher than others, but they provide great service.
