    Burned out motor on my furnace

    I arrived home on Tuesday evening to find my furnace wasn't working. I called Laird & Son just before 7pm and within 10 minutes their Emergency Service technician called me back. He was at my door in less than 1 hour. He couldn't fix my problem immediately as he needed to collect a new part, but I was impressed with the prompt, friendly service and the competence of their technicians.

    High efficiency gas furnance

    I spoke with and later met Dave who provided straightforward information and advice with no pressure. When I chose to purchase the furnace from Laird and Son, they were accommodating to our time requirements and delivered as promised. Very happy with the quietness and even heating we get from the Lennox unit we purchased. Highly recommended.

    Air conditioning

    I was recommended by a friend and grateful he did. Needed to install an affordable air conditioning unit and they did an great job. Good price, right on time and schedule. Can't recommend enough

    Repairing Furnace

    A while ago our furnace ceased to function properly we called another company to come in and repair it, they did so but it broke down once again a month later, when we called them again they said we had to pay full price for it to be repaired again. We disputed and got them to lower the charge, but once again within a months time it broke again, we called and got the same story. We then went on and called Laird & Son, when they came into our home and told us that the previous repair was an half assed job, so they did it properly and professionally and now its been working perfectly for the last 4 months now! Extremely pleased with the service.

    Heating & Air Conditioning

    All this money on a new heating and air conditioning system! Well worth the dollars spent to have a reputable company, one I trust, do the change over from oil to gas. Professional and personable installers who took pains to lay drop sheets so our home would stay as clean as possible. From installation to clean up and removal of old oil tank done in a day and all to our satisfaction.

    new gas boiler

    In early Oct, I needed to replace a very old oil boiler.I had a quote already from my current oil supplier and another but wasn't happy with the reviews on the particular brands of product they installed. I contacted Laird because they installed OLSEN products, which have a pretty good reputation. I would have switched to gas at this time, but couldn't wait the 6-8 weeks for a gas meter installation. The sales rep Ron advised me that he would be able to request an emergency install in a couple a weeks. He was right. the meter was in by the end of Oct and new gas boiler in a few days. Laird is also in the oil delivery business, so I appreciated the fact that Ron was looking out for my best interest. Another surprise came when the Gas Inspector showed up. He took a look at the Laird Label and said, "Laird does good work, you dont have to worry" The other strange part of the story is that I never heard back from the other two reps that I got a quotes from.

    Furnace cleaning

    I have to say that I'm VERY disappointed with Laird & Son. We hired them for a routine cleaning and their service guy promptly broke our heater leaving us with no heat on a night it went down to zero. We have a 4 year-old, so to say it was a stressful night, would be an understatement. When I called the next day to complain, the women who answered the phone was surprised to hear the news. She said she'd take care of it. She never called back with an update, apology, etc. so I assumed we wouldn't be charged. When I got a bill in the mail, I called to express concern/surprise - their response, 'We didn't charge you for the parts to fix your heater'. This blew me away. Should I be thankful they didn't charge me for the parts to fix the heater they broke?? What about the inconvience of having no heat overnight!? She finally knocked off $50 from my bill; however, the damage had already been done. I've come to realize Laird & Son clearly suffers from low customer sevice, communication within the organization, and follow through. In a city with so many other viable options, I will not be using Laird & Son again. I would recommend you think twice too.

    Nov.11,2011 In response to this Customers Review, we would like to comment with the following points: In October while performing routine maintenance at the Kyle residence, the ignitor broke, during the cleaning. The technician explained that he would replace what was needed and return as soon as possible. Unfortunately and unusually we were unable to access the replacement parts until the following day. The furnace was repaired and the customer was provided with the maintenance tune up and services for Free of Charge. We take our excellent reputation seriously and regret any inconvenience to the Kyle family.

    Energy efficient furnace and air conditioner

    Laird & Son made it very easy for us to decide to proceed with their company for our new installations and change over from oil to gas. They provided a hassle free quote and guided us through the eco-energy process. Their installation crew was very courteous, efficient and professional. They were considerate with very little disruption to our home environment - we didn't have to clean up after they left! Thank you again Ron and crew.

    Install of air conditioner and furnance

    I have no relationship or financial interest in this company. Laird and Son was exceptional with the install for my parents. From the time they gave us the quote until the time after the install. They were very professional and helpful with my parents who don't speak English as there first language. They beat expectations on the timeframe and removal of the old oil furnace including full instalation of the above products. They never tried to pressure my parents in upselling or what was not necessary. They made my parents feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. They gave us the best price from other competitors. We would like to thank Ron and his team for making this process seamless and for actually caring for my parents like his. Product is one thing but service to me makes the great company's stand out in my opinion. Thank you.
