    AC Repair

    Thank you Laird for responding promptly on the first hot weekend of the season when we discovered our AC was not operating. Mack was professional and courteous and fortunately, able to diagnosis and repair the unit the following day.

    Air Conditioner Repair

    Mike was very courteous and thorough in his repair. He took the extra time to explain what he was doing and why. I have had recent unpleasant experience with your competitor (Atlas Care) who simply told me I needed to replace everything without doing much of a check. Mike provided unbiased honest advice that my equipment was still in good working order and did not push sales of new equipment. That, to me, goes a long way and says a lot about the character of the employees and culture of your company. I will certainly be calling Laird and Sons for my AC needs. Thank you to the whole team that made it such a pleasant experience.

    Mitsubishi Air Conditioner Service

    We were struggling to find a company to service our Mitsubishi A/C units, until we found Laird & Sons! They knew our type of A/C units well, serviced them quickly and efficiently. They were on time and billing was accurate and easy to follow. I would highly recommend Laird & Sons and will use them for all our Heating & Cooling needs in the future!

    A/C Unit

    I always appreciate when a company chooses to have a real, live human being answering the phone, as opposed to resorting to an automated system with pre-recorded voices. Last week, when I called Laird & Son, I was delighted that after of only a few rings, friendly, female voice answered my call and proved quite helpful.

    Attic AC service

    Just finished waiting for another 3 hour window to service my attic air conditioner and they didn't show again. I waited for them 3 days ago and they didn't show, and when I called they said I must have written it down wrong (Wed 8-10 AM instead of Sat 11-2 ... not bloody likely). I sent an email on Wednesday to complain and no response. Will definitely look to someone else to service my AC unit as these guys clearly don't care if they keep customers or not.

    Attic A/c Unit

    We are very disappointed with this company. If you are looking to install a major A/C unit in your home please do not go with this one. We installed our attic A/C unit a few years ago and all we have had is problems with it not working to leaks and just overall not working great. sometimes we just it on and nothing comes out. Now every time we have a problem we need to call Laird and Son and of course, they charge us every single time. Also, the customer service is terrible. Not always nice on the phone and will say they will call back and won't...... Do not use this company....you will save yourself a lot of money and frustration.

    Hit and miss

    I had a really good experience with Laird and Sons in November 2016 when they came to do an Fall service of our Slant/Fin Galaxy boiler. The technician was knowledgeable, and it was serviced under their Fall service special at a very reasonable cost. Flash forward to this May, and the boiler suddenly stopped working. Won't ignite. I didn't consider it a big deal since we're getting out of cold weather season, so I placed a call on Monday evening. I left a detailed voicemail on their voicemail after their message indicated they would get back to me the next business day. Tuesday came. No callback. Wednesday came. No callback. Now, finally, with the outdoor temperature expected to drop, I called Wednesday evening and chose their emergency number. I got their voicemail. Left a message for their on-call technician. I received no callback until this morning (Thursday). I guess they have a different idea of "emergency" than I do. Not returning my phone call the next business day, as promised, is no-no. Their emergency non-response when I called back was also disappointing. When their staff called me back this morning, she said she did not receive the Monday message. Later, Brian called me back and said that someone tried to call me yesterday and there was no answer (I didn't receive a call, and even if I were to miss their call, I have voice mail.) Just a big unfortunate mix up, and based on my experience, I don't have a lot of confidence when it's an emergency situation that they can deliver.

    Furnace and A/C Installation

    I have been a customer for many years when I lived in Leaside but only for furnace and a/c maintenance. When I moved last December of course I called them to replace the older furnace and a/c. When Mack W. came to do the initial cleaning of the old furnace I asked him about new ones. He came back and very knowledgable about what I needed. And he gave me a great price! The crew that came to do the installation was very hard working and they seemed to really enjoy their work. I will recommend Laird and Son to my friends. I have had only good experiences with them!

    Happy every job!

    We've had work done by Paul a few times and also by Barry. Both men showed up promptly and each job was quick and professional and neither Paul nor Barry ever left a mess behind. Their explanation of the repair and install was easy to understand and their expertise and professionalism is obviously. We'll continue to call & recommend Laird & Sons!

    Surprised and disappointed

    Simple quote request. Most expensive diagnostic charge. Still hired them for diagnostic. After paid diagnostic, was given a new single job price, with no explanation or break down of costs, parts versus labour. Just one number. When I asked for a simple cost breakdown, the owner's son REFUSED. He said they NEVER DO THAT FOR CLIENTS. ? He also said that no one ever even asks. HUH? Thanks to homestars, we were immediately able to find another company for the rest of the job: The new company was fast, they broke down their costs like everyone else, and no surprise, they were far less expensive as well. ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS! Love homestars!
