    POOR SERVICE POOR PRODUCTS

    DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HERE! NIGHTMARE PLACE! We just had a terrible experience here, I wish we had check all the HORRIBLE reviews that there are online about this disgraceful place before even go there. We bought 3 months ago a dining room table (2000$) that was a unique floor model and we specifically bought this one due to the stripes and the colors of the table top. The seeling person said was going to put away the table for us and while we where there she did put a note on it that is was sold, but unfortunately for us she obviously removed the note and SOLD the piece TO SOMEBODY ELSE, even though we had paid for it already. We paid the full amount in cash and a 75$ delivery fee, which really they should have paid has for all the problems that this delivery causes us we the 2 totally incompetent guys who DELIVERED THE TABLE WE DIDN'T BUY, but why? We called the office and the OWNER told us that he was going to make another table top if we didn't like the one we bought. So he admit that they sold our unique piece to somebody else not even apologizing. Thank God we had took pictures right at the store so we sent them the two different table tops. The table bottom was the same, but obviously not the same one we saw at the store since he had a different leg... Anyway I'm still so upset with them that I can't even write anymore, the thing that we are gonna do now is go get our money back and go buy somewhere else another table, after we bough the other furniture in according to that one, so we are going to speak to our lawyer about that for ALL THE INCONVINIENCES that this caused us. Our experience at G.H. J ohnson's WAS TERRIBLE I WISH WE NEVER WENT THERE.

    Bedroom furniture

    I've purchased many items from GH Johnson's since 2008. They have extremely competitive prices and do their best to deliver good service when they can. I've been dealing with the owner, Patrick, directly as he is always interested in consulting with me and providing me with the best solution possible. Once in awhile, a delivery may take longer than normal ( ie: end tables that were supposedly in stock at the suppliers, then put on back order because the supplier didn't hold them) however stuff happens. 9 times out of 10 the service has been spot on and expectations were met. Would I do business with these guys again, of course. You will be hard pressed to find better value in the city. Pat knows his furniture and is always pleasant to deal with. I've seen some comments and it sounds to me that some clients just don't have realistic expectations when it comes to doing business - good service is a two way street in that you have to be reasonable and respectful when dealing with others - and from what I have seen GH Johnsons is a fair and reasonable company trying their best to deliver good value with a smile.

    I've never been physically threatened before...

    Until I've dealt with G.H. Johnson. We were (rightfully) disappointed that they made us wait an hour to put in an order for a couch that was already sold to someone else. The owner's son walked over and said 'Do you have a problem? Because we can go outside." My girlfriend and I were in complete shock! Purchased a couch from them years ago but never again. They have decent selection and great prices, but delivery is a nightmare and customer service is borderline abusive. Avoid at all costs.

    New Couch

    I was told 6 weeks for delivery of my new couch it took 3 months. I had to call multiple times to get an answer and each time it was a different excuse. Their prices are competitive but service is terrible.

    Furniture

    Do not purchase furniture from this store. I was told I would be receiving my new custom couch in 6 weeks, however, it has now been 8 weeks. Upon calling the store, they informed me it will not be delivered for another 3 weeks. In addition, I received poor service from the sales person. She paid barely any attention to us when we were in the showroom, and was only concerned about making the sale. The only thing good about GH Johnson is their price point. They are untruthful regarding delivery time frames. I am VERY unsatisified and will not be returning.

    Office furniture

    This unique store in the furniture district was recommended to us by a friend. We don't live in TOronto, but we were told to make the trip to check it out, so we did. We were not disappointed. Walking into this store, you feel like a kid in a candy store. It's a feast for the eyes! After looking at 'ordinary' furniture stores, everything in G.H. Johnson's looks unique and one-of-a-kind. The shapes and colours of furniture are unique and specialized, but in a classy and subtle way. The staff are helpful but not overbearing, so you can spend as much time as you like just browsing. We ended up buying a desk and office chair for our office that we love. We have been asked many times by friends where they were purchased, as no one has ever seen anything 'quite like' them. I'd go back anytime to G.H. Johnson's, even just to look... but also definitely to buy. If you want unique furniture that will last a lifetime, check it out!

    Dresser, Chaise, Ottoman, Headboard

    G.H. Johnson's is an absolutely huge warehouse full of treasures both modern and traditional. They have a great selection of furniture for all areas of the home, including a small selection of kids' furniture. From what I hear, many home stagers use this place as their go-to when looking for pieces for clients' as do prop rental companies. The basement is full of final sale finds so be sure to make the trip downstairs. The sales staff are all very seasoned and professional making the experience stress free. Adjacent to G.H. Johnson's is a fabulous art gallery which is an added bonus. And yes, parking is free!

    2 chairs

    The most unprofessional experience. I purchased two chairs from the store and left them there for them to repair some scratched corners. I got a call on sunday telling me that the chairs were not supposed to be for sale and that they wont be giving them for and that i can get a refund. They were not apologetic at all and were very hostile about the issue. When i went in the next day i demanded some re-embursement for them waiting my time and instead they said to call my lawyer lol.. I had the owner and the general manager telling me that they didnt like my attitude and wont be giving me my chairs or a refund. We stood our grounds and got our chairs. The most ridiculous store ive ever stepped into.

    Terrible Customer Service

    I have never reviewed a company or service before but my experience with this company has left me completely frustrated and disenchanted. The furniture is great but the customer service once the product is ordered is horrific. Delivery of two chairs is now 6 weeks late. I keep getting shuffled around, no one will give me a straight answer, no one will call me back, no one has apologized or makes any effort to help me out. Now that I've read other people's reviews, I'm doubtful as to whether I will ever receive the chairs. Despite their lovely furniture, I would not recommend this company to anyone..

    WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

    I purchased 2 night tables in January of this year and was told that the stands would be ready for pick-up at the end of the week. I came back to the store on the day of pick up and no one could find my order, or the nightstands. I had to speak with a couple different people, none of who were apologetic or willing to help me resolve the issue. I spoke again with the original seller who said the tables were “damaged” so they had to order new ones – fine, no problem there. I was then told they would be delivered so I wouldn't have to keep making trips down to the store – beauty. However, the nightstands were never delivered!! I called 1 week after the expected delivery date, and again no one was willing to help and I kept getting passed around to different people. I left a detailed message and my phone number, but NEVER received a phone call regarding the issue and the failed delivery. Obviously getting someone on the phone that could help was IMPOSSIBLE, so I went to VISA to dispute the charges. Basically the outcome of that was Johnson’s fed VISA complete BS and my credit card was charged AGAIN on May 2, 2011! FOUR MONTHS AFTER I WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE THEM!! Like what kind of company IS this?! Clearly this is not how a customer should be treated! The people working within this “organization” are rude and incompetent and I felt like I was being taken advantage of. I even emailed the President of the company, Patrick Johnson, who was completely aware of the situation – and he agreed that I should pay the $150. Seriously?! I finally just accepted because I wanted to end this for good and be done with this company. I would’ve wanted to keep doing business there, but there is NO WAY I will ever step foot in that store again. And trust me, few will in the near future. Best of luck Johnson’s, you’ll need it.
