A call to their office, a friendly voice sets up a home appointment with Michael Schoeman, Technical Advisor. His friendly personality and his knowledge of the roofing business, made it easy for me to decide what I wanted and at a affordable price, there was no pushy salesmanship. As I watched the roofing crew of Roderick and Manny, the quality work and the care for detail, one could tell the pride they have in their trade, even the clean up was first class. Then there was a follow up by Michael to make sure I was satisfied with the results. A day later Penfolds Roofing Field Inspector comes by and did a visual inspection of the roof to make sure it is up to their standards. This is why, they have been in the roofing business for 75 years. If you need a new roof or repairs to be done, I highly recommend Penfolds Roofing.

Review of roof replacement by Penfolds Roofing - March 2015, East 16th street, North Vancouver. I had to get the roof replaced because the old roof has reached end of life. Had numerous companies in for quotes inclusive of the "fly by nights". Since dealing with the Penfolds Sales Manager, Jose de Freitas at Penfolds roofing everything was done in a very professional manner. He explained the roof replacement process thoroughly and clearly. I decided on the Penfolds Cedar Twin ULTRA-Scotch guard Cypress Black for the sloped roof and Residential Fast-N-Stick for the flat roof part. I also consulted with professional engineers and my homeowner insurance company who also recommended Penfolds roofing to me. The homeowner insurance company specifically mentioned to me the warranty program of Penfolds roofing. My decision making was definitely influenced by the Penfolds warranty underwritten by their insurers. None of the competing roofing companies had such a warranty system in place. From the time that the contract was signed I had communication with Penfolds. On Wed 3/4/2015 John Wiggins arrived and did a thorough site visit. The next day the crew under Gord arrived and the work commenced. I was very impressed with the professional manner in which the work was done and especially the quality tradesman ship with the metal work that was performed by Gord. Gord regularly communicated me with me and explained technical issues clearly, and also gave feedback on the progress of the install. I was very impressed with his skills and level of knowledge. The site was left very clean and the crew did a very good job with general housekeeping of the site in general (no nails/screws or any debris laying around). Michael completed the flashing on the torch on part of the roof. When a problem was experienced on Sunday 3/29/2015, a technician was dispatched immediately (arrived on the site 15 minutes after my phone call to Penfolds) and the issue was dealt with promptly. Mr. Ken Mayhew communicated regularly with me while the problem got fixed. It was clear that he had a "hands on approach" to the problem and I must commend him on the customer service. On Tuesday 03/31/2015 the job was completed and John Wiggins did a final inspection. He did a debriefing and answered all technical questions very thoroughly and clearly. I am happy with using Penfolds Roofing for my roof replacement project. I also believe you get what you pay for. There are 4 houses in the street where I live, which had roof replacements done in the last year by the same contractor. That contractor is out of business a year after these roofs were done - Penfolds have been doing roofs in Vancouver BC for 75 years. My neighbors who used the "cheap" contractor are now in a situation where there are no warranties except maybe from the manufacturer. The neighbor now have issues and repair work a year after installation is costing them a lot of money. I will not hesitate to recommend Penfolds roofing for any roof replacement work. Thanks to the Penfolds crew including Jose De Freitas, John Wiggins, Gord and his crew and Ken Mayhew, I sleep well at night knowing that when we get 50mm of rain during the night or strong winds, I do not need to worry. I had used Penfolds in the past for a roofing job and decided to use them again to replace some custom metal window pans. The two gentleman who did the installation were on time and courteous. They paid great attention to details and the clean up and speed in performing the custom job was excellent. I would recommend Penfolds for anyone looking to replace their roof.

We had a few quotes from various roofing companies and ultimately chose Penfolds because of their excellent customer service during the quotation process, competitive pricing, and their 70+ years in the business. Within hours of requesting a quote through the Penfolds website, I was in contact with Adam Boyes, Corridor Manager. Adam was professional, knowledgeable, and flexible to our schedule. Once we agreed to the scope of work, we received regular updates on progress. While the roofing work was underway, it did get messy around the house as expected, but the roofers were diligent about cleaning up and did not leave any mess behind. The roofers worked quickly and efficiently and completed the work on time. Upon completion, Adam followed up to make certain we were satisfied with their work. We were. We would recommend Penfolds to friends and family for their roofing needs.

We are extremely pleased with the service we received from Penfolds Roofing when they installed a new roof on our old house. They had to squeeze the job in between winter storms here in White Rock, but they arrived with a crew of several workers and didn’t quit until it was done. The entire crew was very professional and friendly, even though they had to carry all the supplies on their shoulders up ladders. We are on a hill, and the truck was unable to back close enough to the house to put the pallets of shingles and plywood onto the roof, as is how it is usually done. The office staff members were very pleasant whenever we had any contact with them. Also, the follow up we had from the Corridor Manager in charge of the job, Adam Boyes was terrific. We would happily recommend Penfolds to anyone when they need a new roof on their residence

I would like to highly recommend without hesitation Penfolds Roofing, not only did Michael Schoeman respond immediately coming to our rescue in the pouring rain and take control of our leaky roof situation it was done with confidence and a “ no problem” attitude. When it came time to sit down and work with us on the replacing of our roof which had to be done there was absolutely no pressure while finding the best fit for our budget. Once the work got under way it was preformed like a well oiled machine from start to finish and everything came together so well, our sun tunnel, ridge venting which looks beautiful and now I can’t wait for the summer heat to come knowing we’ll be more comfortable. The new gutters and down spouts. The heavy duty underlay and the shingles chosen have our home the best looking roof on the block without question. We’ve had a lot of compliments from people passing by. Honestly, I would use Penfolds Roofing again like I said without hesitation only now that will never happen being our new roof will be out living us. Also with Penfolds it’s “insured” warranty is all multi- transferable. “The cherry on top”, talk about your upgrades. Thank you for going above and beyond Michael so happy we parted as friends Penfolds is so fortunate to have you and your hard working team. 10/10 across the board !!

Back in 2012 we needed to replace our cedar shake roof. We saw Penfolds at the Home Show and decided to ask them to provide us with a quote for their EcoRoof rubber shakes along with new gutters and downspouts. Shaun Mayhew was our contact. Shaun was very professional and worked with us to provide us with a fair quote. The roof was installed by a very professional and friendly crew who kept a very tidy site. Our roof was completed within a week to our utmost satisfaction. Our new roof truly look stunning. 2 other neighbours in our subdivision also had EcoRoofs put in since then. In late 2014, my dad was looking to replace their cedar shake roof Sometime in 2015. I contacted Shaun again and he very kindly agreed to come and look at my parents' roof. My dad decided to go with a Cedar Twin Ultra roof. Again, he provide us with a very fair quote. So because the weather was so good in early March 2015, Penfolds replaced my parents's roof. Again, the crew was very professional and friendly and the job was done to my dad's satisfaction within one week. My parents's new roof looks great! So our thanks to Shaun Mayhew and his amazing crew for a job very well done!

I am grateful to Michael Schoeman of Penfolds Roofing. Michael and his team recently replaced the roof of my father’s house and workshop in Delta, BC. My father is elderly, hard of hearing, and easily confused, and I know little about roofing. Throughout the entire process, from initial bid to completion, Michael treated me and my father with honesty, compassion, patience, decency, and respect. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate his good service to me, and to my father, in particular. I know that Michael is part of a team (and I am very thankful to everyone who did such good work building this roof), but I am most thankful that Michael Schoeman is the person who returned my initial phone call to Penfolds.

My husband saw Penfolds' eco-friendly roofing product (from recycled tires) at a home show a couple of years ago. When it was time to replace our 23 year old cedar shingle roof, we did want an environmentally conscious product. The fact that it would also last 50 or more years certainly added additional sway to our decision. We were indeed very pleased with the new roof. It looked much like a shingles roof, even though I picked a lighter shade of colour. The installation took 4.5 days to complete, as there was some rain on the 4th day. Joey & his two other crew members who did our roof were very professional, methodical, and punctual. They were also very helpful whenever I had questions re: the roof and its installation and had kept me informed of what was happening. It was also reassuring that others from Penfolds--including our salesperson, Michael Schoeman--would come to check on things on the 1st day, during the middle, and then at the end of the roofing project. I would definitely recommend Penfolds because the staff is professional and knowledgeable, ie: upgraded building codes, colour longevity of tiles, etc. Even though their pricing maybe a little bit more, it is well worth it with the proper products and well-qualified people.

We were in the market for a new roof and loved the idea of a rubber shingle. (Our old roof was made of cedar shakes.) We looked at a number of products, and none of them looked "real". We were always under the impression that Penfolds was expensive. Upon receiving an estimate from Michael, we were both very surprised. Not only did they carry a rubber shingle that looks almost like cedar shake, their pricing was very competitive. Penfolds' warranties are also pretty great. We also found out the next day that our old roof leaked like crazy. Michael and Ron came out right away to tarp our roof. We had to wait a number of weeks for work to finally start, but have to say, we are extremely happy with the final product. Unfortunately, the crew was dirty (Michael and Ron did their best to clean up their mess) and did break a very large skylight during installation. (Michael and Ron got us a new replacement very quickly.) We do still have some issues with the replacement skylight, but have no anxieties: we know Michael will get back to us. Would recommend this company in a heartbeat: they are communicative, clear, and provide timely customer service.
