FULL Appliance purschase for new home

We have used Tasco 2 times in the past and there were issues, we tried to give them one last try for our large order for a new home. We spent 40K on new appliances for every thing and went with high end such Wolf, Subzero, Miele, etc. Every thing possible thing that could be screwed up, they managed to get 10 out of 10 in that department. Their sales people have no clue about any thing outside of the marketing BS which is not cookie cut for every single home. But the cherry on the cake came when we addressed these issues to them, no one wants to take ownership and its been now over 7+ weeks that we are waiting for a response. hehe yep you guessed it, no one is getting back to us. Stay away from them. I am building a website for all complaints, www.tascosucks.com good luck Daniel

    New kitchen appliances

We placed our order for $15,000 worth of KitchenAid appliances with Tasco Appliances in May 2008 with a significant deposit and identified our delivery date for mid August. In June we firmed our delivery date. We purchased this far in advance to ensure we had no problems with delivery. How wrong we were. Less than 1 week from delivery we are told for the first time we were back-ordered on the built-in Microwave. This was the first mention that there would be problem with delivery. The girl on the phone actually told us that the product had been back-ordered for months. This means we will have a brand new kitchen partially complete until the back-ordered microwave arrives, because all the appliances are built-ins. Plus we need to pay people to come back and complete the installation. It would seem that when a customer places a confirmed order tied to a specific delivery date, Tasco should plan to have product available for that order. If the product is back-ordered at the time of purchase the customer would have the option to make a new decision about their product selection. However, if the product is available at the time of the order, why does the supplier not ensure it has stock on hand to honour all committed orders before selling additional units? The salesperson was very knowledgable and helpful at the time of the order but he was totally let down by warehouse and shipping. Plus, when I asked to speak to sopmeone who I could express my concerns to at the head office, my calls were never returned. So buyer beware when dealing with Tasco. Sales staff is great -- but follow through is very unprofessional.

    Answer from pro:

Tasco apologizes for this inconvenience. It should have not happened. We are sometimes at the mercy of the manufacturer and cannot control this. Also if its a special order this can take some time too.

    Kitchen appliances

I purchased over $12,000 of kitchen appliances (fridge, dishwasher, microwave, oven, and stovetop)from Tasco. The products were fine although I did not feel I got a "deal" by any means. The problem I found was with their preferred installer. This man came out 2 days late (excuses, excuses) and took a look around and spent all of 30 minutes measuring and said I needed a granite worker to hone out the cooktop by a couple of centimeters, a cabinet guy to remove a cabinet, because the fridge was not clearing the cabinet (although it was supposed to), and he said I needed a plumber to reroute pipes behind the dishwasher... he charged me $100 and left me in the chaos of no appliances (they had already all been removed) He did not provide me with any referrals or remedies to help me out.. He was rude and said he didn't normally install these types of cheap appliances! (they were Kitchenaid, and Miele) He said he was an expert Wolff appliance installer... So why the heck did Tasco refer me to him and let him take my money and run... Just poor service all along the way. Tasco staff also have attitude, I went a couple of weeks ago to pick up a new water filter for fridge and they made me wait and then seemed bothered by the fact all i was purchasing was a $50 filter! Don't bother with Tasco, there are other appliance sellers who actually understand what customer service means.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Elaine, We are sorry that the installation part of your experience did not go well and that installer was too matter of fact, and forthcoming with his opinion.

    Customer Service

Took about 4 months to decide and finalize decision as to which range, range hood, microwave, and fridge/freezer. Not only was Mike willing to gather all product info, but he patiently waited for us to come to a decision without any financial commitments. Unlike other companies who pushed and pushed, in person and by phone... Mike gave us our space to decide. After-sales attitude from Mike was equal to pre-sales support!

    Answer from pro:

That's Marvelous! Good job Mike! Making an appliance purchase shouldn't have to be stressful, it should be a satisfying and informative experience. Please shop again at Tasco!

    Kitchen Applicances

When we moved from our home in Markham to Unionville, we decided to renovate our 30 somethign year old home by gutting and totally redoing the kitchen and purchasing new applicances. We decided to buy Stainless Steel appliances and upon recommendation from a friends, we bought everything from Tasco. The person we dealt with was Melly. She was helpful and knowledgeable and helped us to pick out great pieces, including our stove, hood, dishwasher and refridgerator. We have been quite happy with all of the appliances we bought and value wise, the prices were quite competitive with other places. We did have a glitch in the beginning when the wrong size hood was delivered and a few facts that were not properly explained to us on purchase, after all we were new to this and should have been told a few things. I remember being on the phone with headoffice a few times arguing about something, but in the end it was resolved and it seems so distant now. Most recently we had a bit of trouble with the electrical with our stove and when we contacted Tasco, they told us our warranty had run out and we had to deal directly with the manufacturer. They should have been a little more helpful considering we bought $8000 worth of appliances from them. However all in all, I would recommend Tasco was selection and value.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for your comments. We do apologize for the trouble you had to go through with hood purcahse and later on with your range. There is limited warranty on your range years 2 through 5 that the manufacturer could verify if the parts fall within the limited warranty. This is also outlined in the use and care guide.

    Kitchen/laundry appliances

When we bought our new home in October 2006, we knew we were going to need 6 appliances for our move-in date a year later. We shopped around at the usual places - big name appliance stores. Tasco was recommended to us by a family member and during our first vist, it was apparent we were dealing with someone who knew their "stuff". He understood our budget limitations and worked with us to find the appliances that would meet our needs. We visited the store several more times before purchasing and at each visit, our salesman remembered us and was extremely friendly. Upon our purchase, we were still interested in shopping around and did find one place who beat Tasco's price. We obtained a quote from them and took it back to Tasco where they matched it without a question. Fast-forwarding ahead, on the day of delivery the two guys showed up on time and were extremely courteous in removing their shoes and taking care with the floors and walls. After they left we noticed a small dent in the fridge door and a scratch on the stove. I called customer service the next day and explained the problem to them. They were slightly lax in getting back to me, but once they did, an appointment was made and the fridge door and stove top were replaced without question. Our overall experience with Tasco has been educational and helpful. We were able to learn a lot about various appliances and were treated with respect despite our limited budget. At a time when money was in short supply and stress was running high due to the purchase of our first home, the one thing we didn't have to worry about was our appliances because we knew we were in good hands. Thanks Tasco.

    Answer from pro:

We apologize the cosmetic issues that you experienced with your fridge and range. Customer satification is what we strive to acheive.
