    Viking fridge & Bloomberg dishwasher

Even though the selling point for my Viking fridge was the "24/7" customer service support, don't believe them. After one year of dealing with Tasco customer support my fridge is not working. I was sent back and forth to the manufacturer and service company (Kampen) several times. I gave up and basically and threw to the garbage 5000$. Just forget about buying anything for them.

    Answer from pro:

We are sorry that you had this service related issue with your fridge. Tasco's customer service department only works during weekly business hours. The service center mentioned does not work for Tasco but represents the manufacturer which any other appliance distributor would have referred you too.

We built a new home and bought 7 high end major appliances (LG washer and dryer, Miele dishwasher, Electrolux cooktop, Dacor built-in oven and Convection microwave, Dacor Refrigerator

I purchased 7 highend major appliances from Tasco. The delivery people took the boxes the appliances came in, and left the appliances covered with the sticky paper that adheres to the surface of each appliance for protection. My husband signed a paper stating that everything was delivered in good condition. The same day they were delivered, we took the paper off the appliances and started installation. We found that the Dacor refrigerator had a missing footkick and that the Dacor microwave convection oven had a small dent in the stainless steel door. I phoned Tasco customer service on Monday (the appliances had been delivered on Friday). They told me that they would get Dacor to send me a footkick for the refrigerator. As for the microwave, I was told that they would send someone from Factory Appliance to see what the damage is and then order a replacement door. I told them I wanted an exchange of the microwave. They told me they do not exchange of replace, they will only fix our "used appliance". I told them that this was a brand new appliance that was delivered two days ago and that we didn't notice the dent on the door until we took off the plastic protective paper. I was told that this was their policy. I had no choice but to get it fixed. Two weeks later, someone from Factory Appliance (his truck was under the name of Enbridge gas) came to replace the door on the microwave. My husband watched him as he tried to pry apart the door from the microwave. The "service technician" ended up damaging the new door and also the bottom of the microwave. He told us that he would recommend a replacement microwave. We phoned Tasco again and they told us that another door was being ordered to replace the damaged door. I told them that the technician damaged the bottom of the microwave and that a replacement should be ordered. They told me that they do not replace "used appliances" and that they are going to order a part replacement for the bottom of my microwave. At this point I was furious. I have had this microwave in my house for two months now, never having used it, sitting on my counter in pieces. A microwave that cost me about $900.00. I could have bought a microwave from the Bay or any other department store and returned it for a full refund or exchange. I urge people not to buy anything from Tasco. Customer service is the worst I have ever experienced.

    Answer from pro:

This is so unfortunate to hear, and are truly sorry that occured. Once delivery is made all of your appliance(s) come with a full manufacturer's warranty which states not to replace but to repair.

    Purchase of appliances

We have renovated our entire house and have dealt with many many retailers of various types. We have had mixed results with TASCO. The main problem has been customer service: when we received our gas range, we were very unhappy with how it functioned and requested an exchange for a more expensive model for which we were prepared to pay the difference. Initially TASCO absolutely refused to exchange the product (claiming it was 'used'), and suggested we sell the range on consignment through them at a financial loss to us, then purchase a new range at full price. After a lot of discussion with them, and escalation to the manager, they facilitated an exchange and upgrade. In a nutshell, the frontline customer service staff were not at all helpful but the manager was excellent. A bit of caveat emptor - TASCO doesn't have a return or exchange policy and the salepeople aren't forthcoming in telling the buyer this information.

    Answer from pro:

Tasco Distributors is an appliance distributor of new appliances and not used. We are happy to hear that you enjoy your reslection of gas range.

    Washer and dryer

The washer and dryer were good quality and I needed to have them installed. They couldn't them both at the same time and that proved an inconvenience to me. But what they did was recover well by re-aranging a time that was convenient for me. As a result they gave me a price discount as an amicable solution. Overall my experience was frustrating at the beginning but satisfying at the end.

    Answer from pro:

Our ultimate obligation to you as a customer is to keep you satisfied and happy. We're sorry that your experience wasn't entirely pleasant and we hope you come back and purchase.

    Kitchen Reno

I went shopping around for appliances at a number of places for all of my appliances. My designer recomended I go to another retailer. I decided to look at Tasco. When I went there the saleswoman was VERY knowledgeable and helped me pick out my appliances. SHe asked me questions no other place asked me. She really wanted to figure out what would suit me the best. When it came down to pricing they were extremely competible and not only matched the other retailers pricing but she beat it!!!After my delivery I found it very nice that the saleswoman called to see how I liked my appliances. Overall service was beyond what I expected. The delivery guys were great, their head office was helpful and I LOVE my appliances. I would definatley recomend it to others.

    Answer from pro:

Tasco is thrilled that you had fantastic experience! Please do come back and visit!

Kitchen renovation - New appliance purchase

Appliances were purchased around Sept 2006. Went 1st to Appliance Canada and got an excellent quote but wanted to check out Tasco before committing. The salesman at Tasco tried to push Frigidaire appliances when we already knew we wanted Kitchenaid. We asked a few questions about the Kitchenaid that we knew the answers to and the salesman was wrong on the answers. But he did know his Frigidaire products. I guess he was pushing Frigidaire because of more commissions or he just didn't know anything about the other appliances. He told us that Tasco was giving great discounts this month and the discounts were ending in a few days and that we should hurry before it was over. We got him to give us a quote. It was about $900 more than Appliance Canada. He said "great deal eh"? I said you got to be kidding! We got a much better deal at A.C. He asked what was it and he said he would match it. I told him that he would have to beat it by a lot because I didn't like his dishonestly. In the end, we got about $200 less than A.C. but I still felt that I should have went back to A.C. because they were more honest and open. I'm sure they would have matched or bettered Tasco but it was alot farther to drive back. In the end, I found Tasco to be deceptive in their pricing practices so make sure you get other quotes before committing to buying from them. I don't know about their repair service since I didn't have to deal with them for after sales service yet.

    Answer from pro:

Being an informed appliance consumer and looking for the best price can be a bit of roll coaster ride. Tasco is not in the business to be deceptive or to misinform. We respect your opinions and hope that you make another purchase with Tasco.
