    Hardwood Floor

This place is amazing! The service is great. They are honest and helpful. They are not the cheapest, but if you want the job done right, they are exceptional. I would highly recommend this place. We were extremely satisfied and have gone back since.

    Hardwood floor Installation

From the time the estimator came to examine our needs, to the finished installation, this company was professional and very efficent. One small concern with the finished product was rectified ASAP to our complete satisfaction. What was accomplished with our project, was only the first. The floor Shop will be called when we are ready to proceed further.

New Hardwood Floors (900 sq.ft. 2 floors, whole home)

The Floor Shop is a great company to choose for your flooring job! From initial over-the-phone questions on installation answered in great detail, including price breakdowns; to our first in-store visit with easy to view samples, prices, and great Q&A help from the staff. Our in-home estimate & review w/ Allan was on-time, quick & clear and we were scheduled by Andrew a few day later. Installation was scheduled a short time later and completed by Wojtek & team in 2 days (approx 900 sq.ft. 2 floors, whole home) and was done flawlessly and cleanly. We think the Floor Shop is great value, service, and delivers quality workmanship.

    Laminate Floor Installation

I live in a condominium in the Bayview / Eglinton area of Toronto. After much discussion with my wife, we decided to replace our existing broodloom with a new laminate floor thruout. We visited The Floor Shop on Wicksteed Avenue and with the help of their staff selected what we hoped would be our dream flooring. Well, we were not disappointed. Allen dropped into our place within a day or two, took all the measurements and provided us with a full cost breakdown which was much less than we had expected to pay. Within two weeks the installers arrived on time, removed our old flooring and installed the new floor much quicker than we had expected. The installers (Wojtek) were extremely efficient, friendly and went beyond what was included in the contract. After Allen provided us with a full cost breakdown we then dealt with Andrew who scheduled the work. Both Allen and Andrew were extremely friendly and efficient. I would have no problem providing my highest recommendation to all the folks at The Floor Shop. The floor looks simply amazing.

Condo renovation -- all new floors

Out of all the new products and assets I put into my complete condo renovation, the biggest impact is made by the floor. The sales staff, Larry and Maureen were very helpful and professional and they actually made shopping for a floor a pleasant experience. The installation was not without some hiccups due to the uneven concrete floors but Larry made sure that all the challenges were rectified to my satisfaction in a timely and professional manner. See the before and after pics. The difference the floor makes is huge.

    Floor replacement

Several months after our basement flooded, we hired the Floor Shop to tear out the damaged flooring and replace it with a new one. When the workers finished removing the old floor, they approached me to say that they had discovered a small amount of water under the old floor, and recommended waiting until the concrete was completely dry -- a process that can take weeks. So the workers packed up all their stuff, including hundreds of pounds of the new flooring, and left. I suppose the installers could have laid the new floor without mentioning the water, and we probably would not have been the wiser, at least for a few months. But the fact is that the installers were conscientious enough to stop working, and prevent us from dealing with a major headache down the road. In the end, we spent several months tracking down the source of the water and dealing with it. And once we had, I called the Floor Shop, and the installers returned to complete the job. This kind of honesty and professionalism allows me to give the Floor Shop my very highest rating.

    Engineered hardwood installation

On October 1st I had engineered hardwood installed in the sunken living room and entry way. There is a stairwell going to the basement and steps going up to the rest of the house. My first impression of this company dealing with Andrew in the store and then Allen who did the measurements and offered suggestions was reinforced with the installation crew. Eventhough it was rather cold they did all the cutting outside so I had no messs in the house. They were so precise, you would swear the steps were placed on top of the hardwood instead of the hardwood being placed around the steps. My neighbor said his floor installtion was not as good as mine. Will highly recommend to friends and neighbours

    Hardwood flooring

4 months ago I had Vintage brand hardwood (solid/engineered) installed. Within 2 months over 30 hairline cracks appeared. 2 planks with long deep 8" cracks. Owner (Mr. Peter Schultz) dropped by for a look see. Said the cracks are not their fault but could not explain why I had them either. Told me he ha never heard of this happening. Hmmm... Said he would send some one to "touch-up" in September (he came over in early August). Forgot about me. I had to contact them. Easygoing Swedish (I think) man came and did his "touch ups". At certain angles you can still see the cracks. Depending on how the light hits the floor. Luckily it's only the Huge ones. Hairline cracks are not visible. VERY DISAPPOINTED!! Had "unfinished hardwood" installed in my previous home of 14 years. Not a single crack. Was told that this happens with new homes and prefinished hardwood. Really? Find this hard to believe. I have many friends who've had prefinished hardwood installed by their builders. No problems. And many friends in the US with prefinished/engineered hardwood installs. Though they have older homes. Some built in the 60's. Now I have new hardwood flooring with 30 plus cracks on 2 floors. Great. Not a good feeling. If I could go back in time I would have just upgraded the builder's carpet for some higher quality carpet. Much cheaper. No headaches and low maintanence. Just vacuum. I even invested in a "central dehumidifier" for my hardwood install (Lennox $3000). Just to maintain recommended (by Vintage hardwood company) RH levels. Which is between 45-55%. No one I know has a "central dehumidifier". Not even my friends in Los Angeles. Live and learn.

    New hardwood floors

We recently used The Floor Shop to install new hardwood floors throughout our house. They did a beautiful job, were very accomodating to our schedule and their price was reasonable.
