My wife and I purchased a new townhouse in Newmarket in the summer of 2007. We took possession this month, July 2009. After meeting with the builder's decorator in July 2008, we were told the upgrade for hardwood floors -- on the main floor only -- was $9000. After visiting The Floor Shop's Leaside location a couple of times, we were relieved that we could get quality hardwood floors -- on the main and second floors -- for a more affordable price than our builder. The sales reps were knowledgeable and certainly not pushy. The owner of The Floor Shop, Mr. Peter Schultz, met with me personally to discuss options on wood selection, pricing, and installation. I was grateful for his years of expertise of being in the building industry. He was able to calculate the amount of flooring required based on our floor plans. After securing a date with a deposit, we were able to have our hardwood floors installed the day after we took possession, which was a Thursday. Two installers, both friendly and hard-working, finished the job in two days, even working on Saturday. And the installers even corrected a botched-up staircase landing that the builder's crew installed but shouldn't have. The Floor Shop installers didn't waste their time or ours, and they cleaned up afterwards, sweeping up and bagging the debris created from the installation. Overall, from initially shopping for hardwood floors to the clean-up after installation, we could not be more pleased with the expertise, customer service, and craftsmanship of The Floor Shop. From start to finish, everyone from The Floor Shop was professional.

We had The Floor Shop in Etobicoke install a new hardwood floor in our 90-year old home. The service in the showroom was very informative, and they have a staff Interior Decorator who really helped us in making the right hardwood decision. The Floor Shop were on time and on budget and the install team who completed the installation did a remarkable job...no more squeaky floors waking the baby. Thanks Floor Shop

We purchased a 50 year old home with hideous flooring. The guys at The Floor Shop were wonderful to work with. They listened to our needs and recommended multiple Canadian-made flooring choices (key for us). Installation was unbelievably fast and the crew cleaned up all the dust afterward ... nice touch! We've used The Floor Shop to floor our condo, now our house, and I'm sure we'll use them in any future homes.

We purchased Jatoba hardwood flooring for our dining and living room areas. The dining room is sunken so that there is a railing and several steps between the rooms. The Floor Shop indicated that due to the complexity of the stairs and railing, that this would be completed by a sub-contractor who specializes in that type of work. When the railing rods where re-inserted in the new floor, the railing was noticeably uneven and not straight. After contacting the Floor Shop, the sub-contractor came back within 2 days and completely corrected the problem. We believe that the Floor Shop was wonderful at correcting the problem and dealing with the sub-contractor involved.

Three companies quoted on this huge job. Steve proved to be by far the most knowledable and dependable professional in the business. Every detail was identified, discussed and explained. The quote was straightforward and precise. The installer was on time, polite and friendly but all business and a real master craftsman. Very difficult intallation with curves and corners and elevations, each fitted to perfection. This company and thier employees really get it, they take pride in every element of their their work and they value their relationship with the customer. 10+++

Just had my 2nd floor converted from carpet to hardwood and the Floor Shop did another amazing job. This is my third time using them, all the work was fabulous and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a floor renovation. The experience was great from start to finish. Debbie was great is providing good advice and the price quoted was great. The crew that came and did the floor was top-notch professional... did everything they promised and the floors look fab! THANK-YOU!

We had our living/dining rms. done first. Then called back for den and bedroom because we were so totally delighted and pleased with the work, the quality of the product and the service. Friendly, efficient, knowledgable customer service. Installers (husband and wife team) were meticulous in their craft. Very skilled, impeccable, proud of their craftsmanship. Truly - would highly recommend The Floor Shop (Mississauga location or Kingsway location) for any hardwood flooring or staircase needs. Exceptional!

My family room has been wonderfully transformed! From the initial consultation with Allen, booking with Andrew and to the installation by Tawab and Shuja; the entire team from the Floor Shop was totally professional. Total care was taken in my home.

Steve was very helpful with helping us choose the right flooring for our needs.We did the kitchen and family room and hallway. The job went well and we are very pleased with the results.
