    Amazing After Sale Support

We purchased our home with an older existing pool, and needed to replace the pool liner, pool pump, sand filter, heater, chlorinator, and lights over the last 2-3 years. What we appreciate most about Total Tech is the good advice we receive when deciding what to buy and how they stand behind it. We've trusted their recommendations and we know based on experience that they stand behind what they sell. Their prices are fair, but what's actually more important is that they'll take care of you after the sale and installation. When we recently had an issue with the heater we had purchased, they were responsive and they took care of it right away. As a pool owner, I've learned how important that is. We highly recommend them.

    Start up and Maintenance

Very disappointed in this company. This was our first year having them open our pool and complete a weekly maintenance. The pool was open and there was low suction so during maintenance they couldn’t vacuum. I called the company and was mislead that someone would be out the next day to have a look at the situation. After no one came, we examined the pool equipment ourselves and founf that a black gasket was sitting beside the pump and never was installed. We received no apology or credit from the company and due to the missing gasket our pool was never vacuumed properly. Plus the maintenance checklist was never complete. We never had our pool vacuumed completely, the sides were not brushed and chemicals were never checked and of course they require full payment for this terrible service. Obviously we cancelled our service. There are a lot of decent pool companies out there. I thought this was one but I was proven wrong right from the beginning.

    Liner Replacement

Total Tech did a totally amazing job replacing the liner on what turned out to be a DIY inground pool! They went way above and beyond normal expectations in replacing not on the liner but also the non-standard metal walls. Cant say enough good things about them!!

    Pool liner and railing

Hired them for a railing and liner replacement job in 2016. That is an very unfortunate decision. The railing they installed popped out in 2017, and I didn't think it is a big deal. However, the gap became bigger this year. I called them to fix it, but they asked $400 to fix it. And told me that the railing has no warranty. It was never explained to me that the $1000 railing job I paid has no warranty, and it will need 40% of total install fee to fix it?? It is a pure workmanship problem, they just need to put in self tap screw to secure the railing back. I will not recommend this company.

    Answer from pro:

We are sorry you feel this way.We clearly explained that the track installed was a retrofit and our standard labour warranty is 1 year. The track can separate for many reasons including the harsh winter. This occurred long after the warranty period ( over 2 years later ) and would have a charge to fix this.We have had no dealings with you and have not heard about any issues since we installed this.

POOR COMMUNICATION/ SPOTTY SERVICE/ AND CHEQUES GALORE

Promised the world on initial contact. That's why I chose this company. Very friendly staff but communication was brutal. I wanted to pay once work was done, however that's not company policy. I understand a deposit needs to be done but after that, finish the job. A series of 4 cheques so far and still not done. Down to needing gas hook up. Two days later I call and was told I had to contact their gas guy. No one told me that, or passed on his information to set it up. Although I did get his quote of $ 1200.00 through the pool company. If I hadn t called I would have been left hanging. I will not use or recommend Total Tech at all.

We are sorry you feel disappointed in our service. We provided an estimate for a liner which clearly stated the payment schedule ( deposit , interim and final ) to which you agreed. We installed the liner and only requested payment as per the agreement. You also purchased a new heater and it was clearly explained that we would plumb the heater in place and you would pay the quoted price for the plumbing install. The gas hookup had to be done ( as stated clearly ) by a licensed gas technician. We recommended one and explained that he should be contacted following the plumbing installation. We e-mailed and called him for you We also sent you a copy of the sketch he had drawn out showing the location where the heater should be placed. His price for the hookup was also written on this. The company president spoke with you on numerous occasions outlining this process. We have called you and left a message since then but have not heard back from you.

    why?

Your employees said that they had come this morning and had done the rest of the work, but they did not come. I feel very honest and I have been waiting. I promised to clean up everything yesterday. I feel very disappointed. That was also the case last year! That was also the case last year!,the heater forgot re-install,at last by myself! what is this work? Maybe you will lost some guest...

    Answer from pro:

I am sorry you feel this way. We strive to provide the highest level of service to our clients.Unfortunately when the crew attended your property and attempted to service the pool equipment they were unable to as there were dead animals including a raccoon on the pad. For health reasons are staff could not perform the work until the animals were removed. We are not sure what you are referring to in regards to a heater install as we do not perform this as part of an opening service. We did attempt to discuss this with you as well as the other issues with your pool on several occasions.

    Service Call

I have used Total Tech for numerous years with a lot of questionable service along the way but my most recent experience will be my last. I contacted Total Tech on May 7 to schedule a service call for May 22. I sent them a picture of my filter and told them the problem and to please bring the part with them when they come so that they do not need to make a second service call. I called them on May 22 at 10 AM and was told that I was scheduled for my repair. I called again at 4 PM and was told that yes they were still coming. I waited and called again at 7 PM and spoke to Gary who had arranged the service call for me on May 7 and he told me basically to bad our crews are done and by the way we do not even have the part for your service we need to order it. At no time over the 2 weeks did they tell me they needed to order the part and that it would take time. I asked to be put through to Dave the owner but was told that he was to busy to talk to me. Then I spoke to Jessica who told me that I could source that part myself if I thought I could do better then them. Well no problem getting the part myself and it is installed less then 24 hours after this disaster with Total Tech. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I have a new pump and a new heater that were installed by Total Tech so this is a company that had me as a very loyal customer. There are a lot of pool companies in the Burlington/ Oakville area. Take my advice and stay away from Total Tech.

    Answer from pro:

We always strive to provide the highest level of service and have people who genuinely care about our clients. The part Petra needed was on order and we were hoping it would arrive on an afternoon shipment on the day her service was booked. We have a large selection of in stock parts but there are thousands of parts from many manufacturers and in some cases take time to arrive. We explained this to Petra and that it would be delayed 2 days .Unfortunately she got extremely upset and was very abusive to our staff on the phone and threatened to " come to the store " and continue. She further stated that she would not pay for the service. This was not acceptable as it was unwarranted and had several staff members very upset. We have a thousands of wonderful clients for whom we work very hard and do everything in our power to look after and is is truly unfortunate that Petra chose this path.

    POOR SERVICE

I have been using them for several years for water testing but only for convenience. Twice this year when I had to order parts, it appeared that they were not new. Last one purchased was even in a package that was opened. I tried it only because I was desperate and it did work. The owner is very arrogant and I won't even go back for testing. Pioneer more reliable.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Karen, We are sorry you were dissatisfied with our service. We do not sell used parts at all .Unfortunately without further information we cannot look into this. Could you please contact us and we will certainly do our best to rectify this.
