Fireplace mantel
I needed to have my fireplace mantel replace in order to mount a TV above it. Otto understood exactly what I wanted ie stone low profile mantel. He made a limestone mantel that fit my room decor perfectly. What can I say? I am just so pleased with the results! I would highly recommend Otto's Masonry. They are a great team of professionals!

new sill
Installed a new concrete sill for a sliding door. Even though this was a small job, Otto called every day during the job to keep me in the loop. The finished product looks great!!

Rebuild of Exterior Stairs
Our front stairs were falling apart prematurely due to poor workmanship by another mansonry contractor. We contacted Otto and he visited our home to assess the damage. He came up with a plan to give the stairs a solid foundation (which was non-existent) and also rebuild them to match the existing brickwork. The result is a welcoming and solid set of stairs to our home which actually add curb appeal as well. Otto answers your questions and gets back to you quickly when emailed which I was very impressed with. If you need masonry work done, this is the man to call.

Tuckpointing Front of Home
I was looking to refresh our home's tired exterior and thought that tuckpointing could achieve this. I spoke with Otto personally about this and he gave us options in both colour and style of tuckpointing to suite our taste and the look of our home. I couldn't be happier with his work. It was maticulously done and our home loks new again. I found Otto's Masonry on Home Stars and am writing this review so that you will also feel confident in hiring this company to do the work.

Repair of Basement Wall
We had Otto fix a collapsed and imploding fieldstone door opening in the basement of our 120-yr old heritage home in Toronto. He put in a steel girder, an 18-inch-thick fieldstone wall in place of the door well, removed debris outside and backfilled. The work looks great, robust, fits in well with the rest of the 120-yr-old wall, and looks pristine from outside. Otto is very pleasant and helpful, and his workers are neat and polite. No cost escalation, bait-and-switch or any other shenanigans - he's an honest man. His company is first on my list for a complete repointing next year. I would highly recommend him.

repairing front porch
Otto did a great job at repairing the masonary joints on our front porch. He walked us through what was required and gave us a fair estimate. The work was done on time, on budget and well. He takes pride in a job well done. We'll have him back for other work.

repair of chimney
Otto's masonry did a relatively small job for me...repairing some cracks in my chimney. Otto and his crew did a wonderful job and the service was outstanding. They called back on time, came out when they said they would, answered all my questions, did a perfect job, and addressed my concerns. Thanks Otto! I am very satisfied and can highly recommend the company.

Tuckpointing and chimney rebuild
Otto's Masonry rebuilt the chimney and performed tuckpointing repairs to my 80-year-old house. Otto personally assessed the needs, provided an estimate and was completely candid in his proposal. The work was done carefully and in a timely way despite the fact that one side of the house abuts the neighbour's with as little as 6 inches of clearance in places.

fireplace rebuild
I hired Otto's Masonry to reopen and refurbish an old fireplace in our living room. Otto was very prompt in his response to my request and was able to visit my house to estimate to job quickly. The job involved locating the old existing fireplace, tearing out the lath and plaster wall covering it, tearing a part of the floor to pour hearth and closing off the chimney. Otto's crew spent two days working on the fireplace. They were extremely punctual and clean. Their workmanship was excellent, the attention to detail was great. Once the fireplace was opened it came to our attention that the opening and the hearth would have to be moved over by a foot to retain symmetry within the room. The crew was able to do this without a pushing the schedule and increasing the cost. New hearth was poured as well as well as a pad for an ethanol burning insert. Chimney was reinforced and closed off as the ethanol fireplace does not require venting (clean, modern, eco-friendly solution). Overall the crew did a great job with an immaculate finish. Well done and thank you!

tuck pointing
Had 3 walls of an old High Park home tuck pointed and a couple of columns fixed. We were very pleased and would recommend this company to anyone needing masonry work. Otto quoted quickly, came when he said he would, cost was what he quoted and he and his office manager, Tony are just good people...renovation doesn't get much better than this!
