    Gas line installed

    I called House Depot to install gas pipe line in our house for a gas stove I was getting. Fred with one other person came to our house ahead of time and they installed the gas pipe line. The job was done very well and neat and they finished in a timely manner. I was very impressed by Fred's professionalism and they information they provided. There were no hick ups. I am glad I called them for this service and not only would I call them again if I require their services but I would highly recommend them to my friends as well. Thank you Fred :-)

    Cement Pad

    I required some specific cement blocks to be used for elevating an air conditioner above the ground. I was having difficulty finding the specific cement pads i required and was very pleased at how helpful the staff were at assisting me in located the product. Thanks

    AC Repair - fast and on time.

    Hi, I called Mark late on a Friday afternoon, and he was able to schedule my repair the next morning. On the phone, he asked what was wrong with the unit ( I didn't get voicemail like most shops I called). He called about 5 min before arriving at my house and asked if I wanted a morning coffee (how thoughtful). Mark and his partner assessed the problem within 30 minutes - and then laid out my options and estimated the completion time. The work was done on time, on budget and works great. Thanks for the quick service.

    New Hot Water Tank & AC Repair

    Mark and Farhad recently replaced my hot water tank after multiple contractors had fallen through or failed to call me back. I had a rental unit that vents out to the roof of a 2 story building with a flat tar roof. Mark provided a competitive quote to remove and replace the unit with a new purchased 40 gallon power vented tank, but had originally underestimated the amount of work so the final price was a few hundred dollars higher than the original quote. That being said, It was still well worth the price and Mark was always very honest and reasonable. For the AC repair, I was hoping to repair it versus a replacement of the older unit. Mark communicated to me that a replacement would be a better choice to prevent continuous repairs. Mark wound up repairing the unit, which now works brilliantly but there was a small communication issue between him ,my partner and I due to the way I managed the project while I was at work and my partner at home. In the end it worked out and the job was completed in a professional and timely manner and as long as the project is clearly specified by the homeowner, Mark will do a great job. I will definitely work with Mark and House depot again.

    Air condition repair

    I'm pleased to write this review because I was in need of some honest help, if I was not persistent or possessed basic technical skill I could have easily be taken to the cleaner, my trouble began when during the hottest week in July my AC unit failed, busy with work I panicked and called my energy home service company in which I have been a customer for 25+ years, after a lengthily phone call and plan signed up as a benefit to me, a technician was dispatched the unit was checked and the compressor was deemed to be inoperative, now I was in a bind, what to do?, what do I know about AC units, I called home services again, discussed the outcome of the technician's results, looks like I'm into a new unit, an appointment with a consultant was arranged, still stinking hot in the house, we finally met, had to leave work early to meet with him, a quote was put together for a new unit, I was shocked at the figure but held back my emotion until he was gone, I decided to get a second opinion, cost me $231 for this, this fellow almost had it going but didn't have all the qualification to go any further, he was very entertaining with all jokes, that was his MO, never heard from him, his company or my home service provider, I decided to call an old friend which after several contact, I got a number for an AC installer, he came over look at the unit and yes it will have to be replaced, got a quote and about six other items that were not included, when I emailed him for a ballpark number on the items not included in the quote and to revisit the entire quote, I got no response, OK that was a clue to drop him, I then got on the web and came across this site, read a review similar to my situation with successful result, the company was HOUSE DEPOT, the gentlemen was Mark, I got home on a Friday to a hot home barely cooled by an antique fan and the kitchen exhaust fan, I called the number for HD, 30 second later, I got a call from Mark it was his cell I had reached, He asked me to explain the problem, he was at another job site and would call when he's done, I thought great lets go through this hopefully and can get clear direction, he called after 9pm and said he'll be over in 30min. I said are you sure, it'll be dark soon, he was committed, he came over with a co worker and sure it was dark and the mosquitoes were also present, he spent time looking over the unit, fan, capacitor, wiring (found 2 wires that were shorted, causing the breaker not to set) and looked at the electrical panel, found that the AC circuit breaker was not setting, (my first observation, when the unit went down), anyway he did several checks and confirm whether the unit was truly shot, he utilized another breaker for power and sure enough the unit was up and running, by this time it was 11:30 pm, he came back the next day, replaced the faulty breaker, checked a few more things, it's been 3 weeks and my old unit of 15 years is working better and more efficient than before, I know that eventually it will stop working but if it needs to be replaced It's because it's true, in closing, Mark and his company, HOME DEPOT are my go to people when I need any electrical or AC work done, I'm a skilled trade person and I can tell that Mark knows his trade very well, he's also a considerate gentlemen and lastly he took his shoes off every time he came in to our house, he also save as of a quoted $7,000.00 unnecessary bill, if you wish to know who the services were or details of experience you can email me, thanks again Mark.

    Electrical Repairs

    A third of my house was without power. I checked the breakers and one of them couldn't be reset. After futile attempts of trying to fix it myself I called up House Depot. Mark came over assessed the issue and gave me a quote. I advised that I was on a time constraint as I had to get to work. They were able to fix everything In a timely matter and clean up very tidy. Their service was great and there were no traces left with all regards to all the work they did. I was very happy with their service. Nice job guys!

    Air conditioning failure

    So on the hottest day of the year, July 17, our air conditioning decides to stop working and warm air is blowing out of our vents. Having been out of the house for the day, I come home to a 34 degree indoor temperature house! I called around at 10pm for a serviceman to come take a look and got the usually voicemails and "if you don't have a service plan with us, we won't be able to come to you until 3 weeks later...so, can you wait?" So off I went to borrow fans from friends and family to keep the house decent for the night. The next morning, I made some more calls and again got the usual pushbacks. I even called the company that installed my air con (a company with a 9.9 rating on this website - message me and I'll let you know the company's name) and the owner told me "Uh, we don't service Markham anymore" even though Markham is on their service area. I shoke my head and kept calling others. That is until I reached Mark from House Depot. The first thing that Mark asked about was NOT "do you have a service plan with us?". Mark asked "what are the symptoms you are experiencing?" and I told him. Then I ask "when is the earliest that you can come out?", Mark said "I'll be there in an hour depending on traffic"...that is when I started to like this guy. Mark showed up with his partner Amir and took a look at my air conditioning unit...did some touching of the unit, measuring with some device and off he went to the basement. He peeked around the furnace unit some more and said "there's nothing physically wrong, but let me do a few more steps, I sort of have an idea..." Mark went back outside and took a look at my air con and began to remove the metal covers. He checked the pipes and the condenser. Then he started to rub his hands on the coil surrounding the fan and said "this is your problem". He took a hard rub on the coil and a chunk of dust/pollen/etc fell off. Apparently, due to the construction in a new neighborhood in the past few years, an inch of dust have collected around the fan coil so fresh air couldn't get in to the air con! Mark and Amir proceeded to wash out the dirt and debris. From the time that Mark arrived, it took an hour for me to have my air con at full strength! My house cooled from 34 degrees to a liveable 21 degrees in 2 hours after the fix. I then complained that the condenser was kinda noisy and my furnace is leaking water. Mark suggested that I get a sound proofing wrap which he has in stock for the condenser noise and he opened up one side of the furnace to check whether or not the water tray inside was to the right degree. He then took a look at my central humidifier and said it's not working. I asked how did he know? He said he can tell it is not wired properly. He quickly opened up the furnace did some wiring and asked me to listen to the "click" noise to indicate the unit is working again :) He did some more checks around the humidifier and the knob that is suppose to control the amount of air that goes into the humidifier fell out! Apparently, the knob was GLUED on to the unit and it was not working! (Seriously, this 9.9 rated company who previously installed my air con is going to get a 0.0 from me, again, message me if you want to know who this company is). Mark and another partner came back a second time a week later to replace the humidifier "flapper", added a sound proofing wrap around the condenser and added insulation around the furnace, just outside of the coil. Did Mark "sell" any of these ideas to me? No. I basically told him about the complaints that I have and he suggested some solutions that I can do. Throughout the couple of hours I spend working with Mark, his favorite saying is "I love to take your money but this is all you need to fix the problem" Needless to say, I've recommended Mark to other people and they have all been attended to over the past 2 weeks by Mark and his team. How Mark manages all of his appointments? I don't know. What I know is that when there is a problem, Mark will be there "in a few hours" :) Mark will be my air con, heating, electrical guy for years to come.

    Plugs and switches replaced

    i called Mark early this week to inquire about the price to change all my electrical plugs and switchs for my condo. After working out a price, i was surprised on how quickly he was able to come out compared to others who weren't available for weeks. Mark did an exellent job replacing them all and adding some really nice dimmers on several places around my place, along with his friendly attitude, it was easy to get along with him while he worked. i would definitely call him again for any elecrtical work. Thanks again Mark!!

    Fixing walking cooler

    We had a company who came to fix our walking cooler and the other company said, you need a replace the whole condensing unit. I saw house depot working in our neighborhood so i called Mark from house depot to come and check the unit. He came the next day and trouble shooted the unit and said the compressing unit is 100% okay and the cooler has a electrical issue. Mark fixed the electrical problem in the unit and the cooler is working fine.

    Radiant heat flooring

    On Thursday night our radiant floor heating went on overdrive, our house was boiling hot!! Our thermostats were not working so we could not turn the system off! We called Mark late on Thursday night and we explained the problem and he came round first thing Friday morning. He spent a few hours troubleshooting and identified the fault in the system. Mark is passionate about what he does and he dropped everything to fix the issue the same day. He explains everything he does very clearly. I called Mark to fix a leaking AC unit a few weeks back too - we had called another contractor who actually installed the unit, and he couldn't fix his own work and fault!! We called Mark and he fixed the leak and someone else's bad workmanship. His prices are extremely reasonable, quality work and would highly recommend Mark - a gent and a professional!
