Bathroom Reno
We live in a 120 year old house and so the issue is always 'what is behind the walls?' Ben wrote up our contract with the proviso that unexpected wiring or plumbing issues could result in higher cost. Fair enough, but the challenge is what is 'unexpected' in an old house? Well the HIP team did a fantastic job and, while we did come across some real and some questionable 'unexpected' issues, we were able to negotiate resolution in a fair way. We are absolutely delighted with the result and the crew was really great in keeping us involved in on-the-spot decisions. Work was completed quickly and, with the depth of the HIP Team, we were never left waiting for someone to show up. Great job!

Really great custom bathroom renovations
We wanted to upgrade our main bathroom and master bathroom. First, Dan came out, made several suggestions about the redesign, and gave us the quote of $20,000. Next we liaised with Charlotte, their interior designer, to decide on tile, fixtures, paint colors, etc. She gave us very good advice. Then Kris, Sanka and their team came out to do the work. They were very professional and experienced. In particular, they discussed each stage of the work with us and took our input. We are delighted with our new, modern bathrooms and are happy to recommend The Home Improvement People Inc. and their contractors to others.

Complete Overhaul
We found The Home Improvement people on HomeStars and after interviewing a few other contractors we knew we had to use them. They completely met and exceeded our expectations! Ben was informative and gave us a reasonable quote within our budget. We needed to redo two full floors in our house that included a kitchen, main floor wall removal, 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms. Larry was our project manager and was responsive to our questions, any changes we had or last minute requests were handled without problems and the job was completed within 2 months as they originally planned. Charlotte worked with us for all choices on finishes and was patient and helpful. Using The Home Improvement People was the perfect choice for us and we love our new place!

Kitchen Renovation
We had recently bought an older home with a kitchen that needed a Reno we had heard about the home improvement people from a friend. We are so happy to have gone with them our kitchen is stunning and we are so greatful! Charlotte designed our kitchen and helped us decide on all the design elements the cabinetry is quality and gorgeous she made it so much more funtional and beautiful, such friendly and helpful staff. We would recommend this company to anyone looking for a job that exceeds any expectation. Thank you so much for everything.

Major Tile Flooring 600 sq.ft.
My third renovation with this company - and they have always exceeded expectations. The latest Tile removal and installation of new tile in my large foyer and kitchen was exceptional! First off, they sealed off adjoining rooms to keep the dust at bay. Each team was very professional and worked extremely hard each day. The tile installer Mark was a perfectionist. The team installing baseboards and moving furniture and doing final cleanup went out of their way to please. WE now have completed 3 baths and a laundry room plus the large foyer/kitchen. Could not be happier!

Kitchen and Powder Room Renovation
Our kitchen and powder room was over 25 years old and due for a total gut and replace. Home Improvement was our second quote and came in reasonable and the sales person was professional. The workmanship was good and the workers were respectful of the property and cleaned after themselves. Caio our project manager was responsive and available. We had a few hiccups with delays in the counter top and some panels but the project came through in 4 weeks.

Main floor gut out
We had the Home Improvement People come and give our main floor a complete redo. Gutted to the studs and a couple walls knocked down... We had them open it right up! We had installed, new kitchen, flooring, sprayfoam insulation, pot lights, and new stairs. From start to finish there was excellent communication, minimal lag, and reasonable price quotes on upgrades. Ben came by to price out the job, and Larry was our project manager. Charlotte did the designs for the kitchen. All very friendly and professional! During the job there were a reasonable amount of defects in work, which were very quickly corrected without question. They even had our front door refinished after it got a few scratches during the demo stage. We got a good feeling from Ben when he came to quote the project, and it carried through right to the end with Larry and Charlotte. We are super happy with the results! Our main floor now looks flawless thanks to the Home Improvement People. We will be having our upstairs redone in the future, and will hope to have them again. Thank you!

DECENT, EXPERIENCED AND HONEST
When it comes to trades, you will get what you paid for. In our case, we knew we needed someone reliable and professional. Dealing with The Home improvement people was a breeze. They helped us with the design and planing of our guest bathroom Reno in our condo. They completed the project on schedule, on budget and with minimal finishing touch ups. 10 out of 10! We will definitely be contacting them for our upcoming project at our office.

Renovated Basement
We recently had our basement finished by the Home Improvement People. From the moment we met with Dan we felt comfortable. He was very knowledgeable and helpful with ideas. The price was very competitive based on the other quotes we received. There was a schedule start date and the crew showed up as promised. Elia was our site supervisor and he was very accommodating. He worked with us every step of the way and we could not of been happier with Dan and Elia. Any questions or concerns were always addressed and taken care of in a timely manner. The job was estimated to finish in 8 weeks and it was completed ahead of schedule. We can't thank you enough for our beautiful basement and will be referring you to everyone. Thank you again from a very happy customer!

bathroom renovation
This team was excellent in terms of reliability, hard work, team coordination, and friendliness. We were comfortable letting them work when we were out. They could have been neater in some of the places where they did messy work like mixing concrete, and their invoicing was not always clear in terms of what we were paying for, but overall we would recommend them to others.
