    House Cleaning

    I booked New Century Maids because of the high reviews however I was extremely disappointed with the cleaning and the customer service that this company provided. When the 2 cleaners arrived I specifically asked them to focus on the floors and blinds. They worked for 10 hours and still did not manage to complete the floors. When I called the next day to complain, I was first told that they have a satisfaction guarantee and that they would send someone back that day. A few hours later, another lady called back saying that they would not be sending anyone because the cleaners worked the full 10 hours and that to have them sent back would cost me extra money. My house was left dirty and dusty. I would not reuse this service and would not recommend.

Unfortunately due to the condition, and size of your home, the amount of hours you agreed to spend for the cleaning of the residence was just not enough. Our crew did stay the whole time they were allowed to, and cleaned as much possible during this time, without even taking a lunch break, trying to insure they could complete as much as they could for you. There was Paint stains left on your hardwood floor that should've been taken care of by the painters, however we did provide the option of signing a waiver to allow the crew to use a certain chemical to remove them from the floors. You accepted this offer, however denied our crew the additional time to do the job. Due to the fact that the crew had stayed the entire time, did not stop cleaning, and did complete as much as they could possible within the amount of hours given, we cannot send them back to your home to clean more areas of the home, if you have denied them time to do so.     House cleaning

    This company is unprofessional, overpriced and poorly managed. We originally used NCM to clean our empty 800square foot condo, they charged 250$ and it was totally empty. I decided to use them again in the absence of my regular cleaner only because they are bonded and insured. They advise they would formally provide a time a couple of days prior to the appointment...I thought this was totally bizarre and inconvenient but decided to go with it. When they confirmed the appointment they provided me with yet another quote prior to seeing the house or the degree of uncleanliness. This quote was 100$ more than the original. I was now at 300$! So I called to gain clarification and spoke to Isabelle. She advised that this was a deep cleaning. I had not requested a deep cleaning and when I pulled up the website to determine the difference she had difficulty differentiating what my expectations should be between the two...in the end we agreed on 2 maids for 3 hours, 180$. The evening before I spent an hour after putting my two toddlers to bed, "decluttering" the house so that the maids could spend more time "deep cleaning"...an hour before the appointment the next morning I Received a call from Cathi advising that they would need to reschedule the appointment for the following day at 3:30pm...when I pushed Cathi to help me understand what happened and ensured she understood the accomadations I made with my kids to get this done, she continued to blame the employee. She failed to understand that this "emergency" was the businesses problem, not mine as the customer and a properly managed business would have a back up plan to ensure the commitment to customer was upheld. A test of a truly well run, successful business is when there are challenges and how they overcome them to ensure a seamless service experience for the customer...this experience was a disaster from start to finish and I will not be using their services again. update: the company called at 1:00pm to send a crew for 1:30pm. I can appreciate that some effort was made to rectify my experience however it still did not Work with my family situation and I declined the offer. I felt that they thought I was being unreasonable and therefore that their apology was insincere.

I see here that you requested a cleaning for July 21st, or July 22nd, if we were unable to do the 21st. You did have an Appointment for July the 21st at 11:30 am, However, there was a medical emergency that had happen with one of the crew members, and we were unable to arrive at your home at that time. We did call back requesting if you would like to schedule for the 22nd, your second requested cleaning date, and you informed us that this date will no longer work for you, because you have a baby sitter for July the 21st only. We then offered to send back up crew to arrive at your home at 12:30pm instead of 11:30am, and hour after your original appointment, and you told us that you do not wish to have services. This was our 2 back up plans for you. Unfortunately we did not have any other crews waiting around for appointments this day, or there would not be an hour delay. We are sorry for the unforeseen emergency with our crew. Thank you for the time you have taken to write this review, we do appreciate your feedback, it helps our company grow, and improve.

    House Cleaning

    I am shocked that New Century Maids rates so highly on Homestars. I had my information taken and said I would pay by e-transfer and was told that when they found a convenient time for them, they would call me with a day's notice. So I waited until they called and gave me a half hour time window. On the day, after waiting an hour, I called and then they called the cleaners. Apparently one of the cleaners was sick and couldn't come. Understandable, but I still wasn't given an explanation as to why the other cleaner didn't show up and I didn't receive a call to let me know. She then took another hour after that to arrive. No explanation. She set down to work and the reason why I've given them one star is because she was incredibly efficient. I've never seen a job done faster. However, she left a lot of stuff behind. Dust bunnies, puddles on the laminate, dirt in the tub. The stainless steel cleaner she used stank so bad and gave me a headache for 2 days afterwards. Also, she emptied the dirty bucket water outside of my door instead of in the toilet. Needless to say, I was not impressed. When I asked how I should pay, I was told "I don't know" and then she took off. I waited for an invoice for 2 weeks, then double checked my credit card and saw that they had charged me for the job including a $4 fee for using my credit card (a fee I wouldn't have had to pay if I had paid by e-transfer). When I called to clear up the confusion, I was told that they emailed me an invoice. When I told them I didn't receive it, they just insisted that it's not their problem because they emailed it to me and it didn't bounce back. When I asked her to read out the email address, it became clear that they misspelled my first name and sent the invoice to someone else. Then they had the nerve to insist that I gave them the wrong email address. Why would I give them an accurate credit card and an incorrect email address? For what possible nefarious purpose would that serve? The administration staff was rude and when I was passed to the manager (abruptly and without warning), she was even worse. She just kept talking over me insisting that their policy is to contact me by phone and email after the job was completed. Except that they didn't. I didn't receive a call or an email and none of that was my fault. They even went so far as to say that they received a reply from the incorrect email address, so it was clearly my address. When I then brought up my privacy concerns about divulging my personal information to a stranger, they rethought their position. And during this entire process, I wasn't even looking for a refund! I was just bringing up the fact that I hadn't received an invoice and needed a copy. I had a 22 minute conversation just so that I could receive a copy of my invoice that they never sent me. It is unfortunate that they made an administrative error, but their customer service skills are seriously lacking and made for a horrible experience. I will never hire New Century Maids again.

The email address you have provided for us since 2012, and the same email we were getting corresponding emails back from you is the email address we sent the invoice to the same day as the cleaning. On each invoice we show our policy for payment times, before we charge the credit card that you had provided. Unfortunately after 2 weeks of no payment we do charge your credit card. Once again we do apologize if you felt upset that we had charged your credit card, we do encourage our clients to stay on top of their invoices, after we have sent them for this reason.     Deep cleaning

    New Century Maids is the best company that I have dealt with. I needed a full deep cleaning of my home and called them – I could not believe how fast the entire process took, I was set up with the full cleaning with the inside of my appliances within just a few minutes. Cathi who I had dealt with over the phone was very nice and answered all my questions and informed me of everything was to happen during the cleaning.  When the day of the cleaning had arrived the ladies had come in just as was confirmed.They worked very hard and were as well very polite and respectful. They ladies did an excellent job; they cleaned everything and then some. I will definitely be recommending them to all of my friends and family.

    Priority cleaning

    Just logged in to write my review and have to say that have completely different experience with this company. I am a very busy person and needed that extra help in my home. I am a very picky and expect perfection in all areas. My kitchen and bathrooms really needed cleaning. I've done some research I gave them a call. My first impression was how professional the call was – I received all the information about the process of setting up my first cleaning and what was needed, I was not pressured into anything extra that I didn’t need – Big Plus - So everything was set up and I awaited the day that the crew would arrive at my home.

    Empty House Cleaning

    We've employed "New Century Maids" cleaning services to clean our newly purchased 3 bedroom town home in Oakville after previous owner moved out and two weeks prior we were to physically move in. We agreed to pay $450 for their service. The agreement was for them to clean in the vacant house: with already empty kitchen and bathroom cabinets, counter tops, vacuum and wipe floors and baseboards (house has hardwood throughout, and newly installed carpet in two of the three bedrooms). The house of course was empty of furniture, area rugs, etc. After they finished the job and left, we discovered that they left dirt in almost every corner,on the main floor, visibly dirty baseboards, loose threads of carpets laying around in both bedrooms (where the carpets were freshly installed) and suppose to be vacuumed of the very threads. They folded though "Hotel style" ends of the toilet paper. I guess to demonstrate that they were doing something for the eight hours they were in our house supposedly "cleaning". After following up and intervention with the supervisor including pictures of the dirt, they reluctantly came to do a 30 minute touch up and clean the visible dirt that has been left behind. A week after we went to the still empty house to check things up before we moved in our furniture. We discovered more dirt in the areas that we overlooked and by the look of it were not even touched at the time of the first cleaning. Disgusted by the findings, boldness and dishonesty of the service we switch the conversation to emails and requested our money back. We've been then insulted with a statement that we want the cleaning for free. To resolve this with some degree of honesty on their part, and to prove that we are not after "free" cleaning we gave them an option to return the $450 we paid them for the job they didn't do. We then will donate the money to a charity under the "New Century Maids" and provide them with a receipt for tax purposes. We simply just do not want them to keep the undeserved money for obvious reasons. We never heard from them again. We assume they do not believe in giving money for free......! So if you expect a clean house after you paid for cleaning service and do not want to be insulted by the dishonesty of the service, do not employ "New Century Maids". Krystyna Popper,Oakville.

    Basement and upstairs

    I am very satisfied with the professionalism of New Century Maids. I would likely use them in the future to assist with my cleaning needs as they met or exceeded my expectations. I have already recommended their service to friends.

    Home Cleaning

    I've never had my condo professionally cleaned before but I thought it would be a good idea to have a thorough cleaning this summer. I found New Century Maids on HomeStars along with a couple other reputable businesses (based on reviews). New Century was the only one that was able to come on short notice (inquired on Friday, service performed on Monday). I didn't what to expect but I came home after work on Monday to find a spotless condo. Things I didn't know could be cleaned were cleaned, items were packed neatly in draws and cupboards, bed was made, etc. I must also commend the management team receiving emails and calls as they were very efficient in responding to my request for setting up the appointment. The day of, I was also updated to the status of the cleaning and consulted when any questions came up from the cleaning crew. Overall, I'm very satisfied with New Century Maids and would recommend to anyone else looking for a deep cleaning of their home. Now I'm considering making this a regular monthly service.

    cleaning

    Loved how my house was cleaned and the little details such as "tucking" in the towels, making a bed in one of the rooms and toilet paper across the toilet to show it's been cleaned. The house was basically spotless and the cleaning women were so very nice and polite.

    Housecleaning service

    We have been using New Century Maids for several years now and I am always impressed with their service. They are simply fantastic! The house is always cleaned to my satisfaction and they even work around my noisy dog who is crated and unhappy about it when they come! They take care of any extra concerns I email to them and always send me a reminder email and phone call about the service. They are always so accomodating. It is so nice to come home to a sparkling fresh smelling house at the end of a busy day. Thank you to everyone at New Century Maids.
