    New Furnace

A friend referred me to CORETEMP when I needed a new furnace, and I am so grateful to her. There are a lot of heating and AC companies out there, so it's great when you find one that can be trusted for competence and value. They were extremely professional, knowledgeable, honest, and capable. I would highly recommend CORETEMP.

Installed a new AC Central Air Conditioner

I called Roger and he was very forthcoming with a quote over the phone. He came to review the project and found a way to save me $100.00 which I never would have known about. We agreed to his price and he showed up at the exact time as promised. The installation was done to perfection. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for this type of installation.

    furnace repair

CoreTemp installed two new gas appliances in 2008; a Ruud furnace and Rinnai on-demand water heater; the installation was fast and professional and both have operated perfectly and contributed to a great decline in our gas bill. Equally impressive is the follow up service. Yesterday the weather turned cold so we fired up the furnace; it started up fine but then stopped working mid-day - our first issue with it. Next day, Saturday, I emailed CoreTemp through their web site and that afternoon Richard himself called and talked me though a simple procedure to re-set the furnace. He even called back 10 minutes later to make sure it was working, which it was! I highly recommend this company for service, product quality and integrity.

    A/C and Furnace Replacement

We had an A/C from the 1990's that was loud and inefficient, and the timing to replace was perfect because we were building a deck around the outside area. I contacted CoreTemp for a quote based on HomeStars reviews (along with other companies on HomeStars). CoreTemp was very responsive and quick to come by for an estimate (since we were in a rush to remove the old A/C). We had an interesting request: we needed him to cap off and remove our current A/C and come back after our renovations were done to install a new one. He did not have a problem with that, he just (understandably) needed a nominal deposit. He walked us through every detail of what he would do for us, from analyzing the current hosing/wiring and replacing it if necessary. This was all included in the quote. He noticed that we had a tankless water heater (Rinnai), and showed us how it was installed improperly. He explained what had to be done to fix it (nothing major), and also that we should get it flushed (it was overdue). When he was just about done estimating for us, I suggested that maybe he should look at our furnace and replace it too since it was over 10 years old. He took a quick look and actually said we should keep the one we have! We were very pleased to hear that, and to know that he wasn’t up-selling us! His estimate was comparable to the others, but hands-down made us the most comfortable company to go with because of how up front, detailed and professional he was (the great reviews didn’t hurt either). When the time came to get the A/C installed, we called him and scheduled it, and he was available the next day. We mentioned that we built the deck over the hosing, but that we could easily take some boards off for him if necessary. It was, so we did that no problem. The install was going very well, until he noticed a crack in our furnace heating coil. He showed us, and gave us the option to replace the furnace, or repair it at half the cost. He left us to decide without any pressure one way or the other. We wisely chose to replace it rather than patch it up. He was able to squeeze us in his schedule shortly after that day, and the entire install went very smoothly, cleanly and professionally by Richard and his team. We are now the proud owners of brand new Lennox A/C and furnace, along with the fancy new iComfort thermostat with WIFI. We love it! It’s been 3 weeks now with all kinds of weather that allowed us to test heating and cooling. No issues to report! Thanks for a great job, CoreTemp, and for showing us that there are customer-oriented, dependable dealers out there!

    New furnace, humidifier and AC

I had an old furnace which had not been maintained in a while, I had Richard come out and do some maintenance, but he found some problems which were very expensive to fix and required my furnace be red tagged. After getting quotes from a variety of contractors, I decided to have Richard install my furnace. I found him to be very professional and thoughtful, he took the time to explain what was wrong with my old equipment, and provided information and showed me some pictures to ensure I was comfortable with his assessment. While I was doing my research and meeting with contractors, he and Janice were very responsive to my emails and would make phone calls to follow up to make sure I was happy with the answers. Richard provided a lot of info on the units he was selling, and gave me different configuration options to fit my budget. From start to finish, it felt like he genuinely cared about my home and my family's well being. We ended up going with the Lennox SLP98, iComfort thermostat and XC14 AC unit. His pricing was reasonable, not just for the equipment, but also for the ongoing maintenance of the unit. Some of the other contractors I called couldn't tell me what it would cost to do the maintenance on the units they were selling. The install looks great, the previous install looked like a bad sculpture or something. New furnace functions perfectly and we notice a pretty big decrease in the amount of noise the furnace makes, comfort and humidity levels are greatly improved. We could not be happier with Richard, his team, and our new furnace and AC.

    Complete heating/cooling solution: Strongly recommended.

Exceeded expectations! Strongly recommended. Highlights: Richard Payer is strongly customer-oriented. As company owner, he enjoys the trench work, Richard glows experience. He and his team showed only positive energy. Communication can't be better: * Clear and concise. * Listens and responds (does not talk at you). * Very happy to share information. * Promptly returns messages, answers every question completely. * Issues that need attention are made understood by him. Richard provided smart recommendations. Value: * Properly fits a heating/cooling solution without the hard sales pitch. Not once did I feel pushed to decide. * Value was exceeded when chance opportunities arose and they were communicated. This demonstrates he has his clients in mind. Again, no hard sales pitch. Detail-oriented: * Does all the small steps, skips nothing, assumes nothing. * Arrived on time. * Respected client's living space, removed shoes to not soil floor covering. His team was very polite. - - - General: The solution included: Purchase and installation of a new furnace, air conditioner, flow-through humidifier, five-inch disposable media air filter, communicating thermostat, and the removal of the old equipment. I had knowledge of what I thought I needed. This gave some advantage when entertaining multiple quotes and allowed me to focus on the solution and behaviour of the bidding company. I will admit I was biased to hoping a small business would woo me because I feel "big business" with their cutbacks and shortcuts are eroding overall reliability and local market competitiveness that affects many of us. In addition, I wanted a service maintenance relationship that I could trust and was fair. I can attest that some offers from "bigger business" was vague and anonymous when I challenged them with my concerns. They also happen to be pushy too many times, and in one circumstance I made that clear to them that it was not helping their position. In any case, I chose CoreTemp and I feel that they will meet my future service/maintenance needs too. In terms of equipment brand quality, I did my own research and I am confident the choice made will serve us well for a long time. The brand is rated above many, if not most of the bigger labels, according to Consumers Reports. Richard also put in the extra effort to maximize configuration energy efficiency while remaining on budget. CoreTemp offered a package that was competitive and they met my small business preference. - - - From my experience, CoreTemp is a standout small business, and is strongly recommended. This is a thumbs up for small Canadian business.

    Furnace Install

I contacted Richard as I needed a new furnace for my home and Richard came in for the initial estimate the next day. His "sales presentation" was outstanding - detailed, un-rushed, and very credible in terms of product knowledge. I had received a quote from another company earlier and while Richard was a little higher in price, I had no hesitation in going with Richard as he was a lot more service-oriented and provided a much better customer experience. Richard scheduled the install 2 days later and the furnace was installed on time with no issues and works like a charm. I whole-heartedly recommend CoreTemp and will certainly hire them again in future.

    Furnace

I contacted Richard on April 08, in the evening regarding my furnace not working and he returned my call promptly. He advised that he would be able to see me the next morning. He arrived the next morning, quickly determined the problem, and serviced the furnace, all done in a very professional manner.

    Furnace service

I had a small issue with my furnace just before Easter. I called Richard late and left a message. He called me back right away and offered to come out right that night. I told him to leave it until the next morning as it wasn't that urgent but I would like to have the issue resolved before I went to work in the morning. By 7:30 a.m. Richard was standing at my door. He prompty took care of the issue and I was off to work, A lot of people can sell you a furnace, but it is the service afterwards that will set the best company's apart. Richard at Core Temp gives excellent service and I am glad I purchased by furnace from him.

    Furnace & AC Installation

Contacted Coretemp and a number of other companies to get quotes on a new furnace as ours was old and making funny noises. Of all the companies we called, Coretemp was the most up front, transparent and plain speaking...no sales BS, strictly facts and good advice. Coincidentally our furnace stopped working the next day. Richard came out to firm up the quote and even tried getting our furnace to work! Knowing we were without a furnace (we had electric heaters) he rearranged his schedule so that he could come the day after next and install the furnace. On the day of the install, Richard and his team arrived on time, were courteous, professional, and went out of their way to clean up after themselves. The product is great (2 stage, DC modulated Lennox) and based on his recommendation we got a slightly larger model (70,000 BTUs). As a result, our two children's rooms at the front the house are now 1 Degree C warmer on average. The other companies who quoted didn't even present this option, even though it was only about $100 more! Overall my wife and I are extremely happy and would gladly recommend Richard and his team. He'll be the first person we call should we require any upgrades in future!
